@@randomtech615 Thanks for the reply! Will you be modifying or enhancing the machine in any way? Tires, air filter, exhaust, ECU, etc? I don't like my machines to be obnoxiously loud so may only do the baffle like you did and add a performance air filter.
@@freidrichnietzsche6643 Don't recomend performance air filter, dust will go through and ruin the engine, paper OEM filter is the best trust me, i used to use performance oiled air filters.
After watching this video I removed the spark arrestor from my 2021 Sportsman 850. It was half clogged with muffler packing material. Thanks for the tip, it sounds better with it out too!
I did as well on my 2020 1000s. Sounds great. Guys keep telling me it will run leaner hence hotter ? Doesn’t make sense to me. She definitely runs hit going up mountains. Altitude is not its friend. Programmer helped that. Great vid
@@danlemko5196 a dealer told me “it helps keep stuff out of the engine” only thing i could think if was if that was the case every 4x4 truck would have one lmao. And thats also what snorkels are for😂
Great looking machine....im sure you will be very happy with it. I have a 2003 700 Sportsman....it's been an awesome machine but really thinking about upgrading watching these videos. Thanks for posting....👍
@ 4:42, do they have grease fittings on the A-arm bushings? Front and rear? Doesn't look like it. Does the radiator have fans? May seem a silly question but I haven't seen this in any videos elsewhere. But great video quality and please let me know how the quad is treating you. I'm trying to convince myself that I DO NOT need this quad in my garage! 🤠🤠🤠🤠 In some states in the US, we do have permission to ride on roads with special permits (WV) but require fitting aftermarket parts to the unit. I wish mfg's had options to include these options at time of purchase like in the EU. Please post an updated video and some riding. Cheers from the US!
There are no grease fittings unfortunately in the front and rear arms, altough i fitted some on the steering column, and the rear sway bar, the arms bushings are sealed now and dont need to be greased, i prefer the greasing system, it is what it is nowaday.. Yes the radiator has a big fan and works very well, just dont let the radiator clog with mud. Great Machine, best i ever had!
Thanks for posting your review. I own a 2015 Sportsman 1000 but am considering getting the 'S' for more clearance and a wider stance. I have a set of tracks for use in snow. They should work better on the 'S' than thet have my Sportsman. An owner of an 'S' told me he got lower fuel mileage than he did on his standard Sportsman 1000. On a smooth gravel fire road, I can get 20 miles/gallon ( 8.5 kilometers/liter) ( 0.1176 liters/kilometer). Do you know your fuel mileage on smooth roads? Also, what unit of measure do you use...liters per kilometer?
The S is a great machine, it has been more than a year now and it really is the best off road machine i have ever experienced. Usually riding in High gear i average 12,5Liters/100km. (that is the unit of measure in europe ;) )
@@randomtech615 8 kms a liter off road you mean ? On normal roads shuold be less, isn't it ? With my Sportsman 570 I usually make 13 kms per liter on road, going to work (82 kms per day, 6,2 liters). Next year I want to change my 570 for a 1000, if I can ride not less than 10 per liter. I use the 570 quad for going to work, over 80 kms a day.
@@randomtech615 I kind of thought it wasn't a gopro because of image stabilization, but wow the video quality of that phone for slow video looks better than my gopro hero 9. But it's more about that ATV...I want one lol!
@@alittlebitofeverything5090 The video i have where i put the drone chasing my black 570 is recorded with a gopro 9! Give it a look so you can compare also great quality but very superior stabilization no doubt! I really recomend this quad, cant be happier! Going to post new video soon with aftermarket exhausts!
I was to buy the 1000s but when it finally came to europe it was without the walker evans shooks and front bumper ...still they had the stomache to put 3000$ more on the price tag...im going back to can am
I totally understand , walker evans shocks were one of the main selling points! It almost put me off too, but the Polaris Shocks looked good and people were talking good about them so i took the risk. For me i think the extra price tag is still worth it because you get Ranger xp1000 front diff, redesigned stronger frame, stronger gearcase, mutch better rims and tires set, center mounted exhaust, wider stance, LED lights and overall mutch better looking in my opinion than the standard red 1000 available in europe. Can Am, at least in Portugal is even more expensive than Polaris, and i needed to be legalized for two people, wich Polaris is and Can Am are not so it was enough for me to disconsider can am. Thanks for watching! 😎
I bought this one in 2020 07. Silver colour. What can i say ... after 1k km driver main belt blew up... no other issues. I like that it is wider. I got speed limit 109km/h . That i don"t like at all
@@ssddss7417 Really? Thats to bad! What were you doing when the belt failed? Top speed maybe is eletronic limited, you can probably remove it! But be carefull 109kms is very fast on a atv ! Thanks for watching, subscribe i am about to post a video of it trail riding!
Hello?Any problems since you removed the spark arestor?I just removed mine on my Scrambler S '21.Do you think it can damage your engine due to the better air flow?
Hello Dan, i have been removing spark arrestors and/or baffles from my quads and motorcycles for years, no problem whatsoever. It has a bit better flow, but it still isn't a direct pipe like the aftermarket mufflers, only on those cases you need to retune de engine, if you keep the stock exhaust, and only remove the spark arrestor or baffle, you can ride worry free! Thanks for watching 😎
Obrigado pelo comentário Tiago, não tenho noção da dimensão da comunidade Polaris em Portugal, vou experimentar fazer o próximo em Português e ver como corre 😉
I think sportsman is way more fun and functional than outlander! For two person it is fine, i use it with my girlfriend. For 1 person use the can am renegade can be a good option to!😉👌🏻
Hello, i haven't rode the machine yet, but from i saw untill now i sounds nice without beeing loud! One of the best stock sounding exhausts! Thanks for watching
im in the exact same situation, bought my sportsman 570 5 weeks ago, how much did you lose on your trade back to the dealer? How can i ensure i get as much money possible?
Hey! I did not loose money because there was a shortage of polaris atvs in stock, so i sold my 570 directly to another person for what i paid for it. Second hand market pays mutch better than the dealers ..😉 Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Horrible color.. no front bumper 2020 came with bumper. Taking the spark arrester out is not good if you ride on public lands you will get a ticket. LED a must for the POD light.
Well that's a strong statement.. So far you are the first person i heard to hate the color, fortunately I love it and would not buy it if it was only available in orange. This is the European version and so the only color option is ghost grey, and i am glad it is. Regarding the bumper, only in the USA they offer the front bumper, in EU they offer the rear bumper. In my country removing the spark arrester is not a problem legally speaking, 90% off road vehicles here atv and dirt bikes do not have them. I agree the LED for the pod is a must have. Thank you for your input, Regards!
