Great video as always guys! Other than the rear, it's one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Especially in that white color. Do you guys know how much HP and torque it has when in electric only mode? I couldn't seem to find that number anywhere.
Vehicle that's too late to the party imparting too little for too a high a price but looks absolutely great, making it appealing for about only 500 people out of thousands as opposed to appealing to thousands but accessible to only 500 (the former will result in massive depreciation while the latter will result in massive appreciation). I'll wait around for 3 years and get one at 1/3 the price ... assuming it still works.
Hybrids just scare me on the second hand market. Most luxury branded hybrids depreciate like crazy compared to gas only models. Cayenne E-Hybrid, S400 Hybrid, BMW I8, etc.
LeBozzx8 Yes. The verb to lease a car. The polestar is so mechanically and electronically complicated that it would be unwise to buy and own one for 5+ years.
Willem kanon so it's settled, they should just forget sedans and forever more make the coolest style (that isn't a sports car) wagons. :) Wagons are cool man :)
@@s.i2898 I'm amazed that despite that and a tiny engine, it weights as much as an electric car and has way less trunk space. Outside of the looks, I don't see its appeal at all, especially at such a crazy price. I think having that limited production will help sell all of them though.
Sure, sure...but in all seriousness, would you buy one considering your own (completely unknown to me) household finances and family circumstances? In other words, as cool as it may be, does this car fit into your household? I love it too, but it really doesn’t fit into mine...and we own now 2 gorgeously well-equipped plug in hybrids, a vintage Porsche that never leaves the garage these days, a Mercedes that never leaves the driveway, and a 2008 Honda Pilot that has more dents and scrapes than I’m comfortable with, but the whole family adores. If ever there was a family for this car, one would think it to be mine, and yet it doesn’t excite me enough to spend this amount of money on a car.
4-cyl engine Turbo charged, Supercharged, alternator charged, and electric charged. Imagine when it's time for repairs on this car? Wow......there are probably 5 mechanics who can fix this thing in the world.
@@durtnasty The design is nice but the build quality is very bad, esp on older models. The new Model 3 is much better, tho it's still not quite on the level of a Volvo, C-Class or 3 series (it has other pro's for sure)
@@recon_ron7746 But the Volvo with a 4 cyl and price of a turbo s is? :) one of the worst hybrids would be a more accorect description not one of the coolest.
Good to see that old Volvo Concept go to use! *Actually, would've loved to have Volvo make a last 5 cylinder rwd sports car as the last hurrah for that great engine.
I love the content you guys put out. If you did a couple more track tests and went to 2 videos a week, throttle house would be at million subs in a hurry.
Your intros are so good that I don't need to watch the whole video to decide whether I like the content, I'm smashing the like button now. I still am gonna watch it though.
Yes you can. You just have to look at your life, find the road blocks, improve yourself and do something more rewarding. Remember, you work for economic benefits. So.. change we’re you work. Or something like that. Good luck!
I like this car because it is exactly like the Volvo Coupe Concept from 2013, which laid the foundations for every new volvo since. I do wish they added more of the design touches from the concept car to make it feel a bit more special than a standard volvo.
Looks like a Mustang and a Mercedes AMG GT banged and this was their baby... And one of them had some Swedish Volvo eyes and booty in their background. xD
Perfect car. Different driving modes are great. Perfect car for daily driving...120 km on pure electric... perfect for daily driving. Love to have one , if money is not an issue.
@Jack Jonas What is who wants to buy a fucking Volvo supposed to mean? Volvo is one of the most reliable car brands and it has been the safest car brand for litteral DECADES. Why would you not buy a Volvo? Reliable, safe, Classy, good looking and preety good to drive
Looking absolutely gorgeous. I just think the wheels are a bit too large and the car is way to high. Especially in the back. A spoiler and diffuser would give the rear end a incredible look. But I don't get why it costs that much. You can get similar cars for less
The Polestar 1 will take it's rightful place in the automotive graveyard beside that low-mileage BMW 850i and Porsche 928 S4 and Mercedes AMG with the hand-built motor. Buy 3, Get 1 free!
A moonroof is a sunroof that is a glass panel. This way on a cold night you can still see the moon through it. It used to be a big distinction, with some panels steel and others glass. But now most panels are glass and sunroof is used interchangeably with moonroof
@@DaveThaBossDTB yeah but you don't get it do you? Im sure the volvo will drive more comfortable. Its just really much more than such audi. Plus is eco friendly and future proof c: its not only about the 0-60 but comfort really too. Everybody can say oh! My 700hp honda can beat this (insert new luxury car)! Its not the same. Not the same experience. An S3 and a Polestar are way different. My celica also keeps up with new 3 series but is it a new 3 series? no it's really not 😉
It's just somewhat of an Halo car, I think only 500 will be made, and it's just there to place the new brand of Polestar on the market and get people talking, I am sure there will be normal models coming out rather soon, and if they keep the design language, we are in for a treat, cause this desing rivals some Zagatos in my opinion.
I like the fact that it looks like a normal car, that even though it has a hybrid system, they stayed with a traditional design -- in a way -- and made a beautiful CAR.
Who said it would compete with a 911? It’s slow and heavy AF quite the opposite of a 911. Okay apparently the interior gets compared to Porsche’s but they also mentioned it doesn’t compare to the 911.
What people don't get is... this has a hybrid system... a turbo charger and a supercharger. When things go wrong, good luck spending all that money on it. Those simple days of cars are far gone. Only a handful are actually left.
He goes "we've got the suspension set to a softer setting which is perfect for a road like this". Thats the cleanest and straightest road i've ever seen. This guys probably never heard of rally car racing and only drives on drag strips
Great video guys, and thanks for reviewing my personal choice for the most handsome coupe since the 2010 Audi A5/S5. Congratulations on your new subs and production schedule as well which are richly deserved. 👍 Is Thomas the new Peter Egan? Hmmm....
Always loved the S60 polestar, and this just takes my love for the Volvo design to another level! Not to forget the interior of this car, absolutely gorgeous! Polestar did an amazing job on their own. 100% would buy over any Tesla.
