11:40 is impressive you didn’t edit that out 😂. Want to get my first target bow this year. I’ll be frequenting this channel for sure and this bow has my interest.
If you look closely to the left of the target on the misfire you’ll see the arrow go through the wall and the fletch’s go flying. So glad you didn’t edit that out 👌
After weeks of looking for the perfect bow i finally came across the nxt drive, after hearing peoples reviews i was almost sold but this channel sealed the deal, bought it 2 weeks ago and love it, really smooth bow.
When my arrow release came unscrewed during my draw, I shot my arrow about three three foot to the left of the target and into a tree. That reinforced my attempt to keep my bow aimed at the target as mush as possible. Happy New Year - This is a fantastic coffee and breakfast video! :)
Good review as always. Lots of specific information that speaks to me as an archer and consumer. I know there will be a lot of comments on your misfire, but I applaud that you put it in there. Could you have edited it out? Probably. You have achieved well in competition, and in all the previous videos of yours I have watched I have not seen a misfire. It's just nice to know it can happen to anyone, so that if it happens to me I should take it in stride.
Twice, after being severely weak and out of shape due to a spine injury that took 6 months to go away I just "let go of the damn release" and sent it flying across the yard. One time it hit my bow and put a ding in the riser. The other time it flew into the yard. Luckily this didn't destroy anything. That shit will scare you some. Finally, after several weeks I got about 90% back in shape. I'm 70+ years old and it takes more time to get into any decent shape.
Blain Clatworthy yes sir it will. Been owning bows since 1963. Compounds in hunting , 3-d and target since 92 with my son etc. Love hunting deer and wild hogs. I'm not a fan of cold weather anymore and mainly do afternoon hunts after the chill has gone for the day. Hunting hogs in the summer and early fall is my favorite. Maybe I'll live to be 90 if I can keep drawing a bow. lol
Hi Steven. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Really appreciate it. If you ever come to New Zealand I would love the opportunity to repay you for your work by taking you fishing or hunting
I just shot the newer model Drive NXT yesterday and I am very impressed with it. It's a great bow and it made me a believer. I'll probably pick one up in the next couple days
Steven we talking safety when i just watched a guy on fb shooting at his garden hiden behind house corner while shooting towards the house blind spot while his kids are in the garden, some people should never own a bow or even anything else what can shoot, btw as always informative and honest video, best archery chanel on youtube
what will you say bout people doing the same with crossbows - ever seen a crossbow arrow ricochet off the ground? - looks pretty odd when it jumps and takes it's own random course...:) How bout those keeping firearms on kitchen tables for their children to play or arranging small shooting ranges in their backyards - with e.g. busy roads right behind...now that's scary shit....same with bows, fully agree.
Hillarious! Saw Chance B do it too on the Lancaster Classic broadcast, so you are in good company. I put one through the conduit in my basement with a thumb trigger. No idea what happened, my only guess is I pulled the trigger like a hinge post.
Stephen, can't wait to see your review of PSE's "new" LAZER 🏹. I always find it easier for target arrows to twist first before pulling. It breaks "Target Torque" and saves the shoulder. 🏹🤠👍
The only thing I didnt like is the rubber grip. sits in my hand and feels better to shoot without the Grip For me. And set at 50lbs its fast ,i can draw 60 on the drive easy as ,but I have 50lb max rated arrows at the moment and bloody hell their fast compared to my old Bow .I very impressed with this Bow , I got the PSE RTS Kit as I have a quality release etc. I am very happy with this bow and my first ABA practise range I scored well over my PB and it was the day I got it. Much better than my expectations . And easy worth more than the asking price IMO.
I really like this bow, the riser got this nice vertical shape as in target competition compounds, unlike other typical hunting bows that look like taken straight out of a Predator movie or so..:)
I think it makes sense for upgrade every five or six years because of these manufactures coming up with something better or the same ball but improvements done on it yeah
I shoot back tension Steve, but not a hinge. I also do that lol. But also I am not as experienced as you. I tried two different hinges in my driveway. Had two mistakes on my behalf so the hinges got put away. I use Stan perfex back tension, a true back tension and not a hinge
That errant arrow punched a nice hole in the wall. At 11:20 the are to the left of the target has no daylight showing. At 11:34 an arrow sized hole of daylight appears to the left of the top left of the target. I guess the vanes stripped off but the shaft just punched thru nicely. Those VAP points will go through anything. Did you ever find the arrow?
And a spotting scope at the shooting line would let you see where the arrows are going. Not a issue 4 me cause my bow is so slow you can watch them go all the way to the target! Lol
Just wondering 💭 where was the guy in the back ground working his hiney off when you misfired?!?! Obviously you missed him because he never missed a beat!
Dear Steven. I would need professional help. You’ve tried a lot of bows before and you’re an authority in the profession. I enjoy watching your test videos. My trapezius muscle is damaged in one place and my current bow (PSE Drive 3B) is pretty aggressive already for me. I make 80-100 shots per workout and want to buy a bow instead that is softer to pull, and so would be good for a lot of shots, but also for hunting. My criteria: • Brace height from 6 1/2" • Axle to axle 32-34" • 60-70 pounds draw weight • 310-330 FPS IBO Speed I looked at several bows: Bowtech Reign 7, PSE Drive NXT, PSE Evo EVL, PSE Evo NXT 33, Bowtech Realm SR6, Bowtech Revolt X Of course, price is also an important consideration, but convenient pull-out is the most important. What is your opinion and your experience? Which bow can you consider to me (or other brand and type)? Thank you for your help!
You need one of them kitchen sink toolbox's hanging off your hip and a pair of binoculars on a swivel you look after every shot like all them big time target guys😎
Get you a big screen viewer and remote camera. Hang the view screen right above your head at like 10 feet in front. Then all you have to do is just a quick glance up and see the target. Instant positive or negative (lol) feedback. Just a few hundred $. They do this monitor set up at the big national type shoots around the planet. I am assuming Australia is on this planet???
I know you are pretty familiar with Carter and hinge releases in general; I just purchased a Carter ONLY hinge and was hoping to get your thoughts on it! A tutorial on setting it would be great. I see virtually no videos or information on this release!
Hey love the videos watching from the U.S in Indiana.. But you said that that sight was $50 did you mean you can get a good sight at $50 or is this sight you used $50.? And what sight is it by chance thanks in advance
Talk about dangerous Archery ranges and people being down range, I've seen many a bad 3-d course set up over the last 20 years or so. Mostly it's due to newbies setting up the course and they aren't paying attention. I honestly believe some are really so simple minded they don't even comprehend what might happen and has on many courses.
I got called out because I called it a robin hood when I busted the nock on an arrow. I guess people want to be picky and say you have to have an arrow actually sticking in the other arrow. Meh, same same to me.
