I have always been a Formula 1 guy but Indycar has such a great community, welcoming everybody from all over the world. It's incredible. And the racing is also fantastic. Good job!

I dont watch much Indycar because I dont have the channels so i stick to fomula one and nascar but the cool thing about Indycar is that a guy can wreck at like lap 8, be leading by lap 35 and manage to win the race. If you lose your wing or get any damage in Formula 1 then your race is over. And sadly, there arnt enough Esteban Ocon moments in F1

Not sure how the drivers felt about it but I loved to see the cars moving around so much, bouncing and sliding. One of my biggest moans about modern racing is that the cars look so stable, and, y'know, in F1 even the street circuits are very smooth, more like road courses with walls. This has a real old-school feel to it.

First thing first I have to say that I live in Italy so for me watching Indycar is pretty difficult. That was my first ever race that I saw and I started to see it when it was 11:30 P. M. At first I couldn't believe how fast and strict they raced, that was kinda scary. I just finished the race when it was 2:30 A. M. in a mixed emotion feeling Happy for Marcus ANGRY because of what happened with Pato and kinda tired because it was night and I'm not a nightliver so... For sure this race is one that I will never forget The first race that I ever watched. Thanks indycar💕

Feel bad for Herta and happy for Ericsson. With that last caution dropping Herta so far back, it was fun watching him pushing completely to the brink for so long to try to regain his spot. Eventually driving on the edge though, especially on such a narrow/unforgiving track like this, is going to catch up to you.

A quick fix to this track would be to put the start/finish line on the straight where they start the race. It would make for much cleaner restarts.
@albinobeach

@hannesgroesslinger
@hannesgroesslinger 3 года назад
Even just adjusting the restart zone would help. On all the restarts where Ericsson was leading everything went very clean, since he accelerated long before the final turn, and so the field was better spread out. But when Herta or Grosjean were leading they waited until after the final turn before they went on the throttle. That bunched the whole field up just before that tight corner, leading to all sorts of chaos. Just telling the drivers in the driver briefing that they should accelerate halfway between the final 2 corners would have prevented several of the accidents in that race.

A challenging street circuit with a driver achieving a dominant pole position; visibly quicker than the opposition all weekend, and totally at one with his car. Absolutely odds-on for a win. And yet …. throws it all away somehow. Colton Herta, Nashville, 2021 and Ayrton Senna, Monaco, 1988. Yes, I’ll put Herta in the same bracket as Senna. He’s the real deal. As good as anyone else racing today, in any series.

An entertaining race that will be talked about. Just start it earlier and indeed move the start line. As for the yellows - I think people who cause them should be penalized, in general. If it's not crystal clear whose fault it was (like Pag/Power clash) - penalize both if it's on the first laps after a green.
@ceeam
@ceeam 3 года назад
And when I say penalize I don't mean carryover penalties for the next race - this sucks immensely. Dock some championship points (2-5, depending on severity of problems caused).

What a terrible track and ugly scenery. I lived in Nash-Vegas for all of 2018 and there is no way this city has any business hosting a race, the traffic is horrendous under normal circumstances, I can't imagine what this did to business and commuters. I can imagine the palm-greasing that took place to make this event happen. Nashville should worry about the quality of life for its residence and not renting out the city to egomaniacs for the weekend at the expense of the residents.
