Go search up David Land clip of Will after the race. Holy $hit - Power went ballistic with his comments, but I can totally understand why. But my wife thinks Power is just being a b$#h because things didn't go his way today, lol. I love Power! Always a character!
@@paulvanzyl2385 I've been a fan of Romain's since around 2008 when he came into GP2 Asia so of course I wouldn't want him to get taken out or anything... But god wouldn't it just be amazing if Ericsson hit him in Indycar just so that we could say it.
As a F1 fan, I really like this driving. It reminds me of the old F1 era where drivers were more important than the cars. One of the last corners from Ericsson before the chequered flag… he really pushed it to a little drift. Also love Van Kalmthout in P2.
This is proper racing - tight corners and solid walls to make the drivers use brakes and steering instead of the usual GP tracks with no walls that allow anyone to go as wide or tight as they wish!
I would have liked to see that. My DVR cut off because it ran so late. Then Peacock has not had the replay up. Congratulations Marcus. Tough day for Power.
What a win for Marcus! Really happy for him. I hope Felix is gonna be ok. What a scary crash that was. That’s one of the worst IndyCar crashes I’ve seen since I’ve started following this sport in 2019.
This is a miracle and I think that Felix realized that he won't be able to turn the car and instinctively reacts moving the wheel back to front directly to the tires, because he missed the full hit to the wall for just meters. Watch the minute 1:10 when he realized that something went wrong and he moves the steering wheel directly to the tires. I think if he didn´t do that, he would had gone straight to the wall (maybe a sideway hit). Could have been a disaster.
With the entries of former f1 drivers...and more to come with the popularity of Grosjean....Indycar series has gotten so much more exciting than previous years. Its almost comparable to the CART series of the 90's.
I am an IndyCar fan because this series doesn't have bogus gimmicks. No stages, no fake cautions, no GWC BS, none of that. There is NO reason Grosjean's car couldn't have been dragged into the safety area directly behind where he crashed and the race restarted without that red flag. Please, for the love of might IndyCar, DO NOT become a clown show like NASCAR. Stop it with the gimmick reds. All my hopes for Felix.
@@amjan So then be it and let the race end under yellow to have at least a valid result decided by sporting competition. F1 turnes into NASCAR already and IndyCar did too in the parts with ridiculous double points races which was partly changed back (only Indy is double points now AFAIK). IndyCar needs to devide if it wants to stay a true sport or a NASCAR fake show with a different look. If the latter happens I'll quit.
Can someone explain to me----why is there a "Race 1" and "Race 2"? Is Race 1 supposed to be a qualifying race for Race 2??? Or they're both actual races that provides the same amount of points? It's a tad bit confusing.
They're both separate races that count separately in the points... the qualifying occurs in the morning hours of race day (Saturday morning and Sunday morning)... but again, they are two separate races, hence why they call it "The Duel in Detroit".
From an F1 points scorer to an Indycar race winner Gg Marcus, Felix terrible strange crash thank god he is okay Grosjean bad luck crash Will power lead then dnf awesome race
NBC missed the start of the race BUT showed Rosenqvist's distorded face from pain in a close up, as well as ten minutes of his extraction - the longest they ever went without an ad break. And Indycar throws a random red flag to manufacture drama, which cost Power the win.
I've been watching IndyCar on and off since the Arie Luyendyk days. Now with Rinus, I'm hooked. Although the racing is awesome, IndyCar should really take a look at their protocols. Power was robbed, and he was waiting for it to happen.
@@armorgeddon , yeah. It's a shame. Power had a disadvantage because he was the race leader. Not good. I'm still wondering if IndyCar will adopt the 'European' blue flag rule.
@@FloosWorld_AoE but I know he will not get top 3 on the championship, he has a lot to learn from Indy , but I was just pointing that his F1 experience and made him win
