It worked really well for me on my trip. I’ve since added a small platform to the left that allows me to put my fridge on it and my two burger called and stove under your knees. It’s easily removable and rests on a ledge along the main platform. The new platform also helps keep the main platform in place. My RAV4 all-wheel-drive also didn’t really really well on some of the gnarly back roads, I took it on
@@wanderworm I stand my fridge in a short collapsible table so that I can store things under it and to give the fridge better ventilation. I drive a Honda HRV. It works well, but not as long or as wide as a RAV4. 🙂
Most important thing for me is the thought process and the making of the sleeping platform, and wether to remove the rear seats (it appears you did not). No two people do it alike. The least interesting part of all these type videos for me is where people go into great detail showing where they store all their personal stuff that they choose to take with them. Still good video overall.
@@bebopkirby thanks for the comment. I did not want to get into the complexity of removing my rear seat and potentially causing future mechanical issues when putting it back. I tried to keep the build simple so it’s easier to store. Plus I have limited tools and ability so the build was simple and from leftover wood. I wanted to show that this sort of setup does not need to be complex.
