@What Car? Mazda CX-5 Turbo...Well you did ask! Honestly, I wish Suzuki had not stopped selling vehicles in the US. I imagine it had something to do with their relationship with GM. I wouldn’t mind a new Jimny as a second car though. Not a bit.
This facelift Suzuki Vitara is indeed the best looking small SUV, IMO. Hence, I bought one last month, same trim same engine as in the video, in black. Because it's a true masculine small SUV, it is smart, not just a formless stupid urban crossover. Plus, it's reliable, the price is ok, no rip-off.
Hahahahhahahahahaahahhaaaaa oh how you made me laugh !!! Just what I thought ....... no one really cares about that stuff. Thanks for making me laugh out loud x
It's a weird hang up so many reviewers have, almost every car on the market has hard plastics, I was in an Audi A4 recently and it was hard-plastics galore on the interior. Feels weird for these reviewers to single out Suzuki for that
@@ozvulcan oh they mention it in every cheap car review, it's a good sign of a awful car reviewer who doesn't know much about engineering and materials.
Jim King they are journalists so they don’t know what they talking about! They only care about ooohh soft touching materials ohhh another USB or cup holders,, they unfortunately drive manufacturers to produce more disposable cars because amount of tech and screens ! Hard plastic + less tech + n touch screen = very good reliability and longevity
@@nortonchow3286 mostly sound deadening really. With hard plastic, especially under the windscreen, soundwaves just bounce back and forth between surfaces. With soft material, it absorbs the sound so the cabin has less road noise and the sound system sounds way better as well. All with no extra weight. I'm actually considering swapping out the hard plastic dashboard on my 2017 Vitara with the new soft-touch one, fitting seems to be identical.
I own two of these, a 2019 and a 2021 and I agree with all of these comments! I call them my “grown up Swifts”. Quite zippy in the manuals, nice control. Great for city driving, parking as well as long distance runs. Love the Vitara!
I don't know why I'm still amazed that people can be as rude as they are making comments. If you don't like the car....fine. Why be nasty? Does it make you feel better about yourself somehow? It's just a car.
relax F Hicks ... these people claiming that they had a car that has powerful powerplant, and very luxurious features compared to this one, and yet they dont have one or nothing at all....maybe some poor people keep talking against this, yet they dont have any car in their garage,, or no garage at all.. you might find some rich or average people has this kind of car or smaller practically...but this people youre talking about, theyll just keep talking and talking...
RU-vid attracts the low intelligent, lower classes. Their opinions are not to be taken seriously. Most people who leave nasty comments on RU-vid are probably angry and bitter, jealous individuals. Makes them feel like they have achieved something in their sad little world by trying to get a reaction. In reality the clever folk amongst us will simply ignore it. Its a shame RU-vid allow any comments at all. It would make it a far more pleasant experience.

Absolutely the best small SUV! I must admit I'm a bit biased since I own one of these beauties, older model from the 2017., and I'm very happy with this car in every possible way - great engine, beautiful design, spacious interior, generous equipment, relatively low fuel consumption... And the new Vitara is even better version of the already amazing car, equipped with so much of it in beautiful and very affordable package!
@Hank Marving I have old (2017.) model 1.6 litre petrol, 4 cylinders engine that delivers max. power of 120 Hp, torque of 156 Nm. Although it's not as agile as 1.4 l petrol engine, esp. new Vitara Boosterjet 4 cylinder petrol engines, it's very reliable and great performer that has been proven over several years in various situations, including driving to long distances! All of that with ease and great enjoy! Only slight cons. is that old Vitara with 1.6 L engine comes with five gear manual shifter whereas all new Vitaras have improved - 6 gear manual, something that some drivers prefer more. But that's not the issue with automatic shifter.
@Hank Marving Why do you think Boosterjets are gonna be problematic in any way? They've been around for quite some time, when it comes to Vitara already for several years. Concerning your worries, my experience is that Vitara is extremely fair deal and it has proved to be very, very reliable for past four years that I'm driving it, although I have to admit I don't drive to work daily since I'm lucky enough to work in a short walking distance. But, I drive very often in city and at highway including several hundred kilometers long trips. Bare in mind that Suzuki is Japanese brand and all cars coming from there usually are extremely reliable and very often fare much better at car reliability lists than many western cars! Also, I know several Vitara owners that are also extremely happy with their cars! About fuel consumption, sorry but being from continental Europe I can only give you numbers in L/100 km that is in my case somewhere between 7-8 L/100 km. I hope this would be useful.
@Hank Marving Here you go! I've converted L/100 km to MPG! My usual consumption ranges between 29,4 to 33.6 mpg. So far, it has never exceeded this higher number, consumption typically achieved during the winter season with winter tires...
@Hank Marving I don't know if that conversion is right or wrong but it is result of internet converter calculation when you put your real world results in it. Maybe you're talking about average scores presented by the company, something that's not necessarily the same thing as everyday scores. I suggest you to try it yourself with my real time figures of 7-8 liters per 100 km, figure that is showing in my car. At times I even have somewhere arround 6.5 - 6.9 L but it's usually about 7. I don't have 4 x 4 car, only usual front wheels drivetrain. I simply don't need that more robust option since I don't drive on harder terrains except while visiting my countryside recreational house at mildly hilly, not too much demanding partially unpaved off-road terrain but my Vitara serves me well even there without 4 x 4 configuration! If you need real off-road solution from Suzuki then Jimny is full breed terrain specialized car but with tradeoffs: it's smaller, less comfortable and with considerably smaller luggage space than Vitara. Also, at Euro NCAP security test Jimny scored somewhat lower results. Best of luck in your search for your ideal new car! Ps. This consumption difference might as well be result of the fact that 4 x 4 version Vitara is more petrol hungry than front wheels option.
very very good report , I am an owner and you were totally right about all the comments you made ! I am extremely satisfied with my Vitara 1000cc even on the motorway ,althoough the light steering and the struggle over 140km/h to accelerate! excellent idea by Suzuki small (1000cc) but big(112 hp) , SUV but easy to park, very quick up to 130 km/h BUT ECONOMICAL, with big boot and great suspension!ARONA of the same price with 90 hp is much slower and doesn't feel like SUV but rather as an IBIZA...PLUS 7 years guarantee !!!!!!!!!!! UNBEATABLE
My first choice in its class. I'm buying one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Ugly or not it's a great, reliable value for money car. Each to their own. Good luck and best wishes.
@@ivanpekic3544 i bought one!! it's perhaps one of the best cars especially for Greek roads . A good acceleration and also a Very good off Road capability . Also One of its advantages is that it can do all kind of work from a mountain drive in a rough terrain to your every day drive to work
@@kIgn-mc7ld Okay nice! I'm thinking of getting one for my mother's birthday as a suprise. She was looking to buy one. Thanks, it's nice to hear an owners review instead of the salesman
Picking our 2018 Vitara this morning, a move up from our SX4, which has been a great car and never let us down. Really looking forward to driving the Vitara and getting out and about !
I've owned two of them and the only thing I find annoying is the in-car road noise. Long trips would be so much more enjoyable with a bit more sound proofing.
very pleased with all the Suzukis we have had. The reviews make me laugh, going into detail about things of no concern whatsoever to me.Wish I had had the engine in my MGTC all those years ago1
@@misssamartypants I'd say the Vitara would be big enough if at least a couple of the children have grown out of child seats but aren't big lumbering teenagers.
To show us how cheap and "nasty" the interior is.. to be fair if you are looking for a car or crossover of this price you have to be prepared for this interior.. i mean c'mon at this price you can't expect luxury interior.. 🙂
DJAYPAZ because they are idiots. I get sick of them talking about "scratchy plastics" on interiors. Ive had cheap cars and prefer hard plastics as they last longer, and ive never scratched any of it either. A lot of these amateur reviewers think they are famous, trying to look like TG presenters, trying to look clever but I take no notice of anything most of them say. RU-vid attention seekers, nothing more.
Every single review I've seen for this car, the reviewer complains about the touch screen system, we get it, it's dated, but it's easy enough to replace and at least it has Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It took Toyota years longer than everyone else and only then reluctantly to introduce these two into their systems. Not to mention complaining about the screen having no physical buttons and dials is stupid, when all of those controls are on the steering wheel, you shouldn't be fiddling with buttons and dials on a screen when driving anyway.
Suzuki does not flatter you with soft plastics and deceive you with poor mechanical components like some rivals. Suzuki uses best quality mechanical components and that is why they are at the top in what car? Reliability surveys.
Good review overall, but can't help but feel you were pushing the SEAT Arona over this, as you kept mentioning it. But the key factor is that the Suzuki offers 4x4, whereas the SEAT Arona doesn't.
Makes me laugh when people go on about storage. Because that's what the boot if for lol and who needs a touch screen why do cars have these stupid touch screens it's ridiculous no wonder why people are always in the wrong lane and stuff cause they to busy faffing around with that. Old school buttons and dials are much better
I agree. Hate touchscreens in newer cars, I wore out the steering wheel buttons on my previous car. I have a 6 year old fiesta with the basic sync system and no touch screen and I much prefer it. Buttons & knobs are fine 🙃
You slide the volume control up and down. I have the Vitara S and NEVER had an issue with the infotainment screen. Petty remarks from someone that has never used it properly. Thumbs down.
I agree. The same unit is in my Swift Sport. Just slide finger up and down to quickly change volume. Also, the responsiveness of the unit was much improved after a software update. That said, I pretty much use Android Auto exclusively. When used in that way, I have no issues whatsoever with it.
@Lavalambtron you can still get the 1.4 turbo, the S just had harder suspension which made the whole thing quite uncomfortable. There is a mild hybrid version that fills in the turbo lag too (haven't tried that one) but it should make the thing more lively. I love my 1.6, when you rev it up and throw it around, it's lots of fun and the stability control doesn't interfere in a bad way.
It annoys me when they make petty comments like this especially when they aren't used to the car and the fact most drivers will use the controls on the steering wheel making his negative comments a waste of time and stupid
I purchased a Suzuki Vitara 66plate petrol June 2020. Thought is was a good choice having second thoughts now. When i first got the car i thought why does it not start as quick as my other car Vauxall corsa petrol. Cut a long story short i had it serviced to manufacturers standards. A week later i had not driven it for only 2 days it took 10 seconds to start was just cranking all that time. Be careful I've read the same issues on the Suzuki forums
I've had the 1.4s manual and got the new 1.4 sz5 auto. The auto is faster to 60. There's a video on the tube that tested both. I'd say it's one off the more affordable SUV's that's more practical that others...try get a big square items like a big dog crate or washing machine or similar sized fridge in a cx3/Toyota c-hr you can't because of the crap boot access. Depends what you want style or something that's practical.
I own 2018 Vitara 1.4 and have no complaints, just little bit noisy over 140 km/h. The engine and drive modes are great, I really love Sports mode, Vitara is not only the best SUV for the price, but also the best car. Period.
How can one compare a Vitara AllGrip having all-wheel drive to a Seat Arona and Renault Captur only available with front-wheel drive? The SEAT Arona is an Ibiza, the Renault Captur a Clio, just high-leg adaptations to mimic SUV character. Same goes for Ford's crossover version of the Fiesta - the EcoSport. The Vitara is a stand-alone development and has nothing in common with a Swift. And every generation of this model has been capable to go off road. The bottom line is simple. Urban hipsters buy a real city crossover like the Arona or Captur to follow the marketing strategies of the mainstream. Pragmatic people looking for a versatile car buy the Vitara or another true compact SUV.
one thing i really con about this car is its sun roof... the climate on my country is really hot, so that tinted glass on the roof might not be comfortable...
@rue de bac Buddy of mine sold his 2016 1.6 Vitara with 250.000 km on it (and got a CH-R...) mostly out of boredom. nHad zero issues. I drive mind like a hooligan sometimes and at 50.000 km, not a single problem or warning light.
@@andreamanta7425 you get what you pay for. It's a toy car made out of foam and weak plastic. It's a death trap. The fact that it's amazingly ugly and has a terrible ergonomic design just means you'll die dissatisfied, and filled with vehicle choice regret. I've driven golf carts better than this.
Didn't really mention the road noise issue even though that was one of the major complaints about the previous version. Fixed now or just an oversight?
Very attractive exterior, resembles the classic off road look of a Jeep. Disappointed with the poor functionality of Sat-Nav though. Is the 1 litre engine really that good? Would love to hear owners opinion on this...
Love Suzuki. Own the ignis. BUT. What do car manufacturers have against luggage space? We bought the ignis because the back seats can slide like a Renault capture. Because if you put a stroller in the back there is no space for suitcases or babies travel cot. Yes the leg room is more in the vitara but if you enjoy travelling WITH your family I would recommend looking at something bigger like the Peugeot 2008 or Citroën c4.
I found the steering on the Vitara I drove to be much too light and lacking in feel - it didn't seem as though it was connected to anything. The ride was also very choppy on country roads leading to one of my passengers feeling nauseous. Not as good to drive as an ordinary hatchback by any means
Hello guys! I like how this car looks and I'm thinking about purchasing it for myself, but have several technical questions. 1) Is 1.6 engine good enough in case of 4x4 and automatic transmission? 2) What a real life-limit for turbo 1.4? Can it run as minimum 150 000 km without serious problems?
As a owner of Vitara with the two year experience in driving this car I can easily recommend this amazing SUV to anyone! This is amazing car in so many ways - from spacious interior, great design, efficient engine with lower fuel consumption, very generous equipment, affordable prices... And also it is very important to know that Suzuki produces one of the world's most reliable cars with very low percentage of failures...
Im looking to buy the jlx manual 1.6 are they good as this will be my very first suzuki what is the driving feels like around town and long distance as well.
I definitely recommend zuzuki before Peugeot .I work in a motor factors (car parts) and as far as I can see Peugeot are troublesome . Soft enginges and lot of electrical problems
British Car Auctions .That is harsh. I have forty seven years of knowledge about cars . I can’t be bothered to count the number of times Seat was mentioned in the review . Just seems odd that a so called independent reviewer should do that.
If you buy cars for reliability. Suzuki shouldnt be a factor. Unless you are so pathetically poor and have no car knowledge that you land on this crap as a good idea lmao fucking pathetic. I'm out.
I’m still sceptical about that tiny 1.0 engine, I’m that vitara must be close to 2tons , maybe less but still a very big car for such a small engine. At least i would expect to have a 2.0l engine or 1.6 and bare minimum.
That's exactly the point. And not only off-roading but wet, muddy and snowy surfaces. I'm experiencing the AllGrip system very supportive in every day situations.
Forget the new cars, they are all full of Chinese junk parts. Just get an old one and fix it up. My 2009 grand vitara has 230 HP, and HI-Low transfer case, with locking center diff. It cost me very little, can go anywhere and is pretty quick around town. Enough said!
I had to reject my new 2019 1.0 Boosterjet SZT after 25 days due to the doors not opening (using the remote) and then the car wouldn’t start. The day after I picked it up I had to call The AA out, this happened 17 times in total (the AA man showed me a trick to get the car started). The engine cut out 3 times when I was on the road. It’s replacement was ok for 2 months then the driver’s door check strap broke causing the window not to fully open !
I heard worse complains for brand new BMW series 5, or Citroen 6 and Audi Q8, which just drop dead on the middle of the road for no obvious reason, and wouldnt start. Bad luck, I guess.
Purchased a top spec model in January 2019. The 1.4l Boosterjet version with auto transmission. Hands down the worst new car I have ever owned. The build quality is atrocious for the price point. Have been to the service center on multiple occasions. Will sell it for a big loss before the factory warranty expires. The only redeeming feature is the engine. Definitely do not recommend this lemon.
@@vpower87 Must be a lemon. Own a 1.4l top trim level (SZ5 resp. Comfort+) with manual gear box and have no problems at all. Materials are low-cost but built quality is really good in my Vitara. How about goodwill of your dealer? Usually, Suzuki is known for customer friendliness.
I work for a well known rental company. We have the luxury of getting new cars of all different models. I was shocked when I first got a look around one of these... In a nutshell.. Cheap tacky plastic throughout. Cheapest carpet money can buy. Absolute tin can of a vehicle. Absolutely no mod-cons for the money. 17k will buy you a real 2nd hand 4x4 from a main dealer... do that instead!
🤣 car reviews where hard plastics that don't damage easily are a bad thing. Always a sign of a silly review. Who wants a soft to touch dashboard. When do you touch it!!
They improved the grille, but look at these ugly tail lights. Why can't they get everything right. And what's the idea of this tiny engine? I have been driving Grand Vitaras for 15 years and they are great cars.
No improvement, windscreen lets too much sun inside and makes a heat trap on the dash, compared to some of the defects mentioned, that's way more important
