Maybe the best hobby box of series 1 I’ve ever seen. And that’s without the auto hit, which is a cherry on top considering how it’s usually a crap manufactured relic, and those ‘86 autos are among the only on card autos in the series. 🔥 Silver pack. So glad the gold numbers are back to a gold leaf stamp and not the crap they had last year. I love watching the Padres too. Big fan of Trent Grishammer!
Yeah, it was a very good box. I hate that they only have 86 on card autos. The last few years Series 1 had more on card autos (with some stickers). Yeah, I did not point that about the gold cards, that's a huge improvement. Go Padres!
I really like the gold and rainbow foils this year. Outside of that thought I don't have a lot of good things to say about the design. Maybe it will grow on me. I didn't really care for last years right away either now that I think about it. Thanks for the rip!

I was lucky to get a box off the Topps website yesterday for about half the resale price. I can't wait to receive and rip it even though I'm not a fan of the placement of the players name on the front. The 70th anniversary retrospective cards along with the 86 design cards are always nice to see with current players.
That was very interesting to watch, after I opened my first blaster box yesterday. Admittedly, I had a good blaster - but for a $22 purchase at Walmart, I scored 2 royal blue parallels (Ian Anderson, Judge), an Orange Lux /299, and a 1952 chrome parallel of Goldschmidt, plus some nice base rookie cards. Even if you take away the luck with the Orange Ice Refractor to 299, I like the retail value of a blaster this year at $20 of the shelf or $30ish resale. With the degradation of the hobby value, the retail blaster gains some ground. Keep up the great videos! Thanks.
Found a retail blaster box at Walmart for 30 I think, it was the last one, got home, went through the packs, pulled a lot of the better Rookies(adell base card, Bart, mountcastle, etc). The best pull was a Jo Adell Orange Refractor #226 of 299. According to what Beckett has it listed, I'd say I made my money back lol. Just thought I'd share that with everyone.
I love series 1. It's the official kickoff to baseball season. This year's design reminds me a little bit of previous Bowman designs. Also, the silver packs are my favorite part.
Sweet Glavine auto and red Molina! Always a plus to get a team matching color parallel! I like the design im sure it will grow on me more like 2020 did and was able to get a blaster box from my local target they had the cards on a cart behind customer service and you are allowed to take 1 of each product they had they also had heritage high number hobby boxes which was a surprise.
Walmart, Target and them could open space for an lcs, just as they do for salons, optometrists, and pizza and sub shops. It's the American dream, or something like that.
Big Ranger fan here. Leody Taveras is a top prospect for us. Great defense in centerfield, and hits ok. If game power shows up as he gets older, he could be a star.

To me this is a hybrid of the junk-wax era and the limited edition production of modern marketing. Great set overall, and I like the variations and retail exclusive products as well, since I don't have hobby stores near me. And watching my buddy pull a Jeter 1/1 auto from a walmart box sealed the deal. I can overlook the miscut issues on the 70's medallion cards. Hopefully Topps will replace the Rainbow Foil Adell RC with 3 print lines running through it.
Leody Tavares has been a well regarded prospect for the Rangers for a while now. His glove was major league ready as a teenager but the bat has been slowly coming along. I saw him play for the Rangers AA affiliate in 2019 and he can cover some ground in CF.
How do you go about valuing/selling a lot of these cards? At .50-$1 per card for the small stuff the shipping would outweigh the money from the sale. Do you use a minimum purchase amount and make them pay for shipping?

I think 2021 series 1 only makes sense if you buy numbered parallels on EBay. Target the rooks and gold cup second year guys. Last year’s print runs concerned me. This year’s scare me
I really do like the design this year, the clarity of the photo is awesome and I do like the gloss..but as you said..I'm a old guy and my eyes have a hard time reading them. The code on the back is impossible to read
Saw where Topps may have printed twice as many of these as 2020 Series one. Hope that's not the case or trend going forward, don't need another 90's melt down. Also Topps website completely crashed on me yesterday, said there were hobby boxes, selected 2, showed up in my cart 30 mins later, but said sold out.
I like the look for the most part other than the font size. I think it would look better w/o the extra set of lines opposite the team and name. if that makes sense what i'm trying to say. I grabbed some hobby from Topps to stash plus I grabbed a tin and a few blasters to rip.
Not a big fan of the design of these but its flagship so they will be good in the long run. Nice auto! A rookie auto would have been good but you can't argue with a HOF auto instead! The gold of Taveras is a good one. Golds are really tough to get and especially a rookie gold!
I found a place where I can get a hobby box for $120. Do you think it's worth it? I'm thinking about trying to buy hanger boxes instead to see if the parallels are more plentiful there. Curious to hear your perspective. Great video, as always!
I watched the complete Video of this Break out of Respect to your Channel ! The Best part of the Rip was the Silver Pack & the Glavine pull ! I don't like base cards and the Name plate is too small ! The Throwback cards are nice, but I'm afraid the retail version of this stuff will collect dust at my walmart, along with Last year's Topps update, Topps Gallery, Bowman Platinum, and Heritage !! New sub guys. Im from lower Michigan and am about to take a trip up 75 thru the UP to MN. We have nothing as far as retail. Are you seeing anything on the shelves up north? Or is it just as scarce as down here?
Great video, great preview of series 1. However, the odds are nuts! Very tough. Comparison to 2020 are night and day. Hmmm curious how this will be accepted amongst the community.
The inserts are cool. Bohm and Mountcastle are good. Idk...overall design feels generic. Your not just old dad those names are super tough to read. The floating gold cups take some getting used to as well. When the price drops I might get a Jumbo cuz the silver packs.
I don’t mind Topps Donruss design. My biggest complaint is the cup placement. It looks really bad in the center of the card. But what’s really bad about hobby is the hit seems to be bottom left pack every time which is extremely dumb on Topps part.
Definitely gonna get at least one box to rip on my channel and hunt for rookies 😆 like the design but don't know if I'll get too much of it. Thanks for sharing stay safe! 👊😊

This is the first time I’m seeing these cards and is it me or do they look a lot like the donruss and optic of 2020 football! Like it’s looking pretty similar to me and I’m not tryin to hate or say they look bad cuz I don’t think they do it just seems a little odd to me
