Thanks for uploading this. I went to Bootcamp 3 years ago and I got out this past June so it’s interesting to see how things changed with Covid. I just had a close guy friend of mine ship out yesterday so I’m watching this to see what he’s going through now lol. The only difference in the beginning of your video is when I went they made us stay up for 3 days when we first got there… it was brutal. How are you liking the Navy so far?
@@aydenramon how about instead of being a asshole show respect to are soldiers and veterans that fight for are freedom and sacrifice there lives for this great country
My daughter went to bootcamp 3/24 and last week got sent to re quarantine in the ring of fire because a girl came into her group and then tested positive for covid.
After I graduate high school, I’m going to enlist in the navy. The reason why is because I have family members who are in the military, my great grandfather served in ww2 as a navy soldier, my grandmother's two brothers were in the military, her brother Steve (my great uncle) was in the navy but didn't fight in any wars, he just got to sail around the world, and her other brother bud (my great uncle as well) was in the Vietnam War. And now my cousin Robby is in the airforce, he was stationed in Hawaii and is now in Germany.
Bro you made it congrats 👏. I watched your video when you were going to bootCamp. Now I have 3 weeks left. Currently in DEP . Congrats again. I'll reach out on IG. I have too many questions 😆. S0 happy for you.
Gotta love that Pensacola room and what's your rate man I am here now for AD I was in division 199 and 217 at RTC and I was ring of fired from the division also
Nice video! How long did it take for you to Get your phone back? My brother graduated 2 days ago and haven’t herd from him since is it like a delay until he goes to a school?
Don’t know anxiety till they do ring of fire And u got a ring of fire happen next to u on the left and right!😂 Been in 14 months good luck G! Undes seaman boutta make BM3 Thank god there were a odd number of racks😭😭😭😭
@@stevensharpe1419 I literally reached 2-3 with a dislocated shoulder. Got asmo’d to RCU for 2 months then graduated with 209 on April 22. Almost 5 months as a recruit
@@m1k3y_th3_chad Having been in both Army and Navy, I definitely prefer Army. Navy made me buy my own toilet paper. Everything was handed to me in the Army lol
I was ready for navy RTC but in the 2 week quarantine we were not supervised by RDCs and they were very nonprofessional and extremely abusive. They were on a huge power trip. Actually wanting and trying to make every second of our 14 day quarantine a living hell. Some of them even physically abused and sexually assaulted some of the recruits. Things got better when we actually arrived at RTC. I was medically separated for having a peanut allergy on my military dependent child medical record even though I did not have a allergy to peanuts. Complete waste of my time. So if you want to join the military and you are a child of military parents be aware that they will see you dependent medical records, and anything that is a disqualification factor. Also FUCK recruiters they will lie straight to your face.
I went in 2017 and what you’re describing the sexual assault I’ve rarely ever heard of. They would grab us by the shirts and shove us a lot especially Barrett , I was on the UsS Chicago and that was when they could have all male div without being in an 800s
@@alexrobinson4821 The RDCs were fine but the people running the quarantine weren’t RDCs. Most of them were fine but there were a few bad apples that were not good people. Sadly I was with one of the bad ones.
@@dannyp204 I’d be *alright* with IT. I’m not going to be satisfied until I secure CTN though. I will deny whatever else is offered and wait for it if I have to
Smith, I'm happy to see that you're making videos to help others make it through boot camp. It was great getting to know you, best of luck out in the fleet.
I'm so glad to see that you're smiling.... lol..... my grandson left for Great Lakes in mid-May 2021 but he's graduating this Friday July 31 !! When he called home a few weeks ago he sounded so depressed but on his last call he sounded much better. Can you tell I've been worrying about him? Anyway GOOD LUCK to you and THANK YOU for serving our wonderful country!
Wow thank you for including certain pieces of information that literally nobody has mentioned. I was very curious in how people would go about asking for something they need or have questions about to an RDC, and now I know! Ty!! So what if you have to go pee during some portion of Boot Camp, would they not allow you to go? My main concern 🤣
Just wanted to say good luck in your Navy Career. I am from the Seattle area and my oldest Son is getting ready to head out to boot camp in just over a week. I will make sure he looks at this before he goes. I try to explain to him how boot camp will be; but I went to boot camp back in 1995 so I know things have changed. Keep up the good work!
Thank you sir that means a lot. I’m glad I could help with informing your son about 2021 boot camp! I also wish him the best of luck with his boot camp journey. Let him know that it’s not easy and just to have fun with it. That’s what really helped me get through it. Keeping a positive attitude even in the toughest parts really helped.
Ayo Smith, this is wild bro. I watched your previous video prior to shipping then you ended up being in my division. Like what are the odds of that. I always knew you looked familiar, anyway keep up the good work!
As someone in DEP now and leaving in July, this is the best video I've ever seen covering boot camp experience. Awesome attitude you have as well, you will be successful! I got word that they don't do ROM for vaccinated individuals now, is this true?
@@chrismorrison52 After going to MEPS the first time generally you'll find your ship date if it's further away more than likely they'll put you into DEP!
Would love to know when you were able to see family or go off base during A school. Also what personal items could you bring to A school: computer, civilian clothing, etc? Thanks for the video. My son is currently at Great Lakes.
So what they do on the night of arrival before quarantine is they have you make an initial phone call home to someone that can confirm you’re alive then after that you turn it off and put it in the box they give you with everything you bring to RTC and you don’t see that box till the day after graduation.
@@capicuu1203 when I was there they didn’t give us a choice. Personally I would have him just put his stuff in the box and keep it at RTC so when he graduates he can get it back and so he wouldn’t have to mail it.
I went through in 2017 I just got out, looking to see what it’s like now lol. Wondering if the swim quals and PFAs have changed since, I was on the Uss Chicago
Seeing your video made me a little more at ease my son is in quarantine right now and I’m on a bunch of navy mom sites and no news is good news. Can you leave when in A school or no?? I wanna come visit him even tho he’ll be 2700 miles away from me but don’t know if I can. Will you be posting my navy videos ??
So right now they aren’t letting any students off base for liberty at all. But they are letting families on base I do believe and yes I plan to post another video this week. I’m going to try and post videos once a week.
I found quizlet to be really helpful and to try and remember the general orders by starting from 1 and if I messed up I’d restart till I finished reading them all to myself by memory.
How long is bootcamp suppose to be from the time you leave to graduation, including quarantine? Also, I've heard if you are vaccinated you no longer have to quarantine, do you know if there is any truth to this?
Boot camp at the moment is 10 weeks including quarantine. They are trying to change it to 10 weeks period. Also I’m not sure about the vaccination information.
As he said, it’s currently 8+2. I went through when it was 6+2. They want to make it 10+2. Not true for the vax at the moment, everyone has to quarantine regardless.
2017 lol it seems it gets easier by the year, I heard they’re literally pampered even more now, I didn’t even get to have anything to record with in my A school let alone a phone HOORAH I was on the Uss Chicago and went to Ft leanord wood MO as a eo
I lost weight a super unhealthy way so I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m not sure about weight loss strats but I’d suggest running and doing 100 push ups and sit ups a day.
