First time seeing a review so in depth. Most reviews are just comparing luxury to luxury. I appreciate you showing car seats, stroller storage and just being able to maneuver around them. Great video I'm a subscriber now lol.
Great review but would help SO much more if you’d show stuff when you talk about it (you spoke about how great the cup holders are and never showed them or really any of that middle console part) not sure if you had a different person filming this one bc normally you’re great about showing every detail
Love the third row access even with car seats! We opted for captain's chairs and have our toddler in one and our newborn in the other. I've been (comfortably) sitting in the third row to be able to help calm our newborn, as needed. So easy to get back there with the tilt feature! This car wasn't even on our list until I saw your recommendation. We visited the dealership after seeing you talk about it and ended up buying it two weeks later because we loved it more than anything else that we had seen. Thank you!!
Great to see this! I just traded in my Tiguan for a 2021 atlas with the captain seats in the second row ! We have a baby arriving in a couple weeks and I’m glad to see it works for you.
Great video! I love seeing the mom perspective. You've got a great idea making these videos with that in mind and your channel is gonna really grow! I got to drive the Atlas for a week and as a dad..it worked great in every aspect. Carseat could fit easily, cubby space in the front is great, and cargo space for the stroller and other stuff was perfect. Nice work! 👍
We got one a few months ago.. best decision ever. The selling point was the car seat friendly 3row access... we opted for Captain chairs vs 2nd row bench... but that’s just personal preference.
Also there hard plastic everywhere. I bought Kia Carnival and everywhere you touch or hands rest is nice and soft... I am big strong guy; however,I notice and felt hard plastic in Atlas everywhere lol
We've always had VW and love them! We need a 3 row SUV - a 4 year old and a 2 year old...and maybe another in the near future! We test drove an Atlas today and really liked it. Thoughts on bench seats vs. captains chairs. I always liked the idea of captains chairs, but I noticed you seem to prefer a bench. Love to know why! Also, have you done a Pallisade demo yet? We are also looking at the Telluride and Pallisade. Would love to know how you'd compare those 3! Thanks! Love your videos!
FYI-The line on the side of the car on the doors is an added safety measure for accidents...may not be that pretty but it will keep your kids/passengers safer.
@@ocman11 there’s an indent on the sides of the doors that leads up to a line within the door, accent crease? I was told this information from the car dealership at VW.
@@Kristen_Colin its difficult to describe if we're talking about the same thing or not. But the body/accent line that is horizontal pretty much from the front door all the way to the rear is purely aesthetics to break up the size of the vehicle. All safety features are underneath that include crumple zones, high strength steel, and reinforced cross members. The "skin" of the vehicle is typically less than a cm thick.
We sold our 2019 Atlas and got a 2022 Acura MDX tech package (mostly my wife's day to day car). I miss the road trip space of the Atlas, but I really like the more sport/luxury feel of the MDX. We just have to pack lighter! I for one do not miss the touch screen. It was always dirty with fingerprints. I like the touch pad interaction of the MDX. I now have some Atlas Crossbars for sale for a fraction of dealer cost!
I have had an 18 Atlas for the last 4 years and everything you said is spot on. I'm actually considering going a little more luxury next SUV but I'm so iffy about 3rd rows since Atlas is the best 3rd row and trunk I've experienced.
I just bought my Atlas SE with Tech last week. Exterior white, interior Beige. I like the space between rows. Panaromic sunroof is awesome. Heated seats are great.
The AC vents are such a bummer, I really liked everything else but can’t do with those AC vents is one of the must for our new vehicle as our current one has them in the middle I hate that
I just traded in my 2019 atlas for a fully loaded 2015 Chevy Suburban with low miles. I loved my atlas but there was not enough trunk space with 2 toddlers and a baby. I couldn’t utilize the third row because I needed it for storage 😭 I do miss the gas mileage though
@@bluecollarbuilds - I actually bought an Atlas with the V6 4Motion. On the interstate, it gets 25-27. Around town, it’ll get 19-21. When towing our 3900# boat, it’ll do 13-15. We towed almost every weekend through the summer and fall. Overall over 8,000 miles, the average MPG has been 22. All of my numbers are calculated after each fill-up. The dash calculated figures are sometimes close, but differs quite a bit when switching between towing and non-towing like all other vehicles I’ve had. I’ve had 5 V8 powered pickups in the past and it was a rare occasion to break over 20 mpg. 4 of them had a 6 or 8 spd transmission. 2 also had cylinder deactivation. Overall averages were 16-17. Interstate 18-20. Towing 11-13.
Is the Volkswagen Atlas still your favorite Mom car? Wife and I are trying to choose between 2021 Atlas or 2020 Acura MDX. Since you've reviewed both I'd like your opinion. Thanks!
Kelly, I love how mom life you are you’re like I’m just gonna answer my phone because it’s probably your husband and you’re like cool and we’re totally cool with that cause you like keep it real and I love it
Okay, so you have one stroller and you're done? No space for luggage or anything else? As someone living 3h away from the closest airport it ain't work for me ever... 😅
Pretty good coverage in your video. Thorough. I’ll say this, SEL trim is the only way to go with this SUV. Non heated steering is no good if you live in the North. Hahahaha crawling into the center rear seat...very “mom-ish” ! Hmmm....Gosh I wish we had these when our kids were young. Nice job Car Mom.
Huge selling point for me was how simple but nicely simple the Atlas was. It’s my mom car and i wanted easy to clean, especially with small kids and dogs.
LoL at the rain and husband phone call but the review was well put together and straight to the point. As a parent of two young kids (5 and 16months) I’m also looking at cars from “mom perspective” as well so thanks for the comprehensive review and trim level/pricing also. 👍
Oh man this is exactly what I needed! A mom review, have a Tiguan right now and it’s tight with one baby so I was leaning towards the Atlas. I’m SOLDDDD! Also killing it momma looking smoking for 10 weeks PP 💣 💥
That was only the initial model year. It's actually a CR recommended car now with good reliability. Never buy first year model, especially if it's a new product altogether.
My little sister that’s under 2 will never be without my mom she has to sit with my mom in the middle row which is where I sit aswell and I’m gonna tell my mom about this but she likes small car but I will convince her because I like this suv to
K I love this girl..FABULOUS reviews, I could care less about car seats kids all grown up now but still only really care about comfort and looks of a car ergo why I love her reviews!
I just was told about your RU-vid channel. This is the exact car we got except the cross sport. We are obsessed with it. It’s such a great suv. We drove a dozen and keep coming back to VW for all the reasons you mentioned. I loved that blue too. I think it’s the best of their colors plus my hubby always wanted a blue car. Love it
I have a vw Jetta and it’s given me zero problems and almost considered the atlas but I’ve seen questionable things about it’s reliability already 😔 and the gas mileage is not my favorite. I wish the super reliable automakers considered moms (you know, the people driving these things) a lot more!
I do! I have a 2 year old who is rear facing and sometimes an older child who isn’t in a car seat. It’s doable for the size but I would prefer an suv personally. If car seats aren’t a factor, I can fit 4 full sized adults comfortably in the car!
@@Rebelleflwr thank you for responding. I've had a child without a carseat before. But not with a rear facing carseat or a stroller in the trunk. Those are two things that I am concerned about.
Don’t lie, I have Atlas Sel and it’s seats suck. Most discomfortable seats are in Atlas. If you are calling Atlas seats comfortable, you are dishonest to the viewers. I got front windshield wiper changed three times from VW , most disgusting wiper what VW puts in Atlas. I bought Bosch wiper and I am happy with that. 12V charging port in the front went off in just 18 months.
WOW! thank you Rachel Cruze for the shout-out on the Ramsey show because I learned so much from this video!! Very helpful to hear from a mom's perspective. I've LOVED an ML350 4matic for ten years, but I am starting to research (and save for!) a replacement... We don't need a third row, but I have THREE friends with this vehicle so thought I would check it out.
I didn’t like the drive. It drove like a boat… maybe because the model they put me in/drive mode; I asked for the V6 and they gave me the 4 cylinder first… maybe that ruined it for me 🤷🏾♀️ Otherwise, I loved it. Decided to go with the Telluride instead.
My husband said, "I like her!" So do I. Please give a review of that Bissell Vacuum!? I have twin boys that will be 4 in June & a baby due in June. We are SUV shopping as I have a car & I'm thinking a vacuum is a must.
I just got a 2018 and my car seats will not tighten. I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old and we have a 3rd on the way so three across is the reason we bought this as it does have ample room. But with a forward facing specific car seat, the belt buckle receiving end in the second row is set too far forward and is fixed so it creates binding and does not pull the car seat down and back into the vehicle seat. I have tried 3 different brands and seats and i have pulled with all my might and even put my 185lb body into the seat to try and tighten it and as soon as i do the wiggle test, it moves like 6+ inches side to side and forward and back. I have read a few blogs with this issue in the ATLAS which is very disappointing. love the car but I am very frustrated, have you had any comments on this or experienced this? I cannot use the lower anchors as my 5 year old exceeds the weight limit of them and my 3 year old will eventually. Any help would be great because after two months of ownership i am considering trading this ATLAS in already lol.
I know you typically only review larger vehicles but I’d love to see smaller SUV for the moms that only anticipate having one child. I’m really interested in the VW Tiguan, but all I ever see is the Atlas for moms.
@@paulturner8394 I'm now driving a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and its amazing. I charge every night on regular outlet and it is enough for my commute to be nearly 100% battery operated. It has about 30 mile electric only range. I've used 50 gallons of gas in 2500 miles because of longer trips. Highly suggest a look plus still can get EV tax credit if you qualify of $7,500.00.
Hi from Palestine 🇵🇸, addicted to your reviews, and two thumbs up 👍🏻 to you . Wish If you can add small advice in each car review about best color combination and best value trim.
Like your video but please tell the camera man to focus on the car & not your face your talking about the dash design but his camera is on your face your talking about the cup holders & the camera is on your face
Hopefully its a bug and can be fixed but the child safety feature on this vehicle is a major flaw... The door can be only open from outside once its activated otherwise you and passengers are locked 🔒 with noway to deactivated from the driver side... You have to get out and walk around vehicle to open it... Also, you have to manually turned on each child lock on each door via a key under each door frame... Its not automatic like many other vehicles.. Not sure why they made this feature so hard and difficult to use
@@alyssao7276 no I haven’t. My only complaint was when gas was super expensive and it cost me $60+ to fill up. But gas has dropped. I’ve had no issues with this car. Still love.
