I’ve always wanted a dirt bike but my dad would never buy me one. Now that I’m finally in my 20s w/ a decent paying job, I’ve been saving up to get one. I don’t even care if it’s used, I’d actually feel a little better knowing it’s used cause it’ll be cheaper and I’ll feel more comfortable if I accidentally fucked it up by wrecking it or some shit
The 4-strokes are too fast IMO, (and don't handle well IMO for what i ride). My new YZ250 2-stroke is really no faster than any other 250cc 2-stroke MX bike I ever had since 1982,---probably slower. But I can fix that when needed. :)
I have the exact same bike and let me tell u .... one hell of a bike 🔥. Very adaptable to anything whether that’s tight single track hard enduro or motocross the thing rides like a champ
@@Wc_Eddy Fouled plugs is because 2-strokes with carbs are jetted rich from the factory. Learn how to jet your carb, and enjoy much more performance, (will gain at least 2hp and more top rpm). and dependability, (won't foul plugs anymore). You are due for a top end rebuild before you break a thinning ring, or break a piston skirt, as they should be very worn after 2 years of riding. Just a Weisco piston kit, a top end gasket kit, some scotch brite to clean the cylinder plating, (plating should be good for several piston/ring changes, and can be re-plated when worn out for a couple hundred bucks), and clean the exhaust power valve, --put it together, jet it well,---and enjoy the bike you never had yet. :)
I need to learn how to edit videos lol but i thought it was great! I had a rmz450 at the time that i really liked it at first but soon realized it was not set up for my kind of riding . I now have a ktm300 but i still like that yz250x! The power delivery was lots of fun and the suspension seemed to love the whoops . And i had litterally just jumped on it im sure with it being dialed in it would be even better!
@@ridazach53 Hi Zach...i am about to buy a new bike...my love is single trails....what is your feed back on your KTM 300...? Thanks for your reply bro...
@@petergraczyk1428 i think its the ultimate bike for tight trails! The suspension it so nice theybare impossible to stall cheaper to rebuild . I almost got the yz 250x. But figured if i was gunna make the switch i would go with fuel injection and electric start.i got the 300xc because i generally ride faster and dont climb to many crazy obsticles to need the lower gearing . So mu impression so far with only 5 hours on mine is its awesome! Theres a cpuple videos of me riding it on my chanel
@@learninglife319 both bikes are great. The KTM is better performance wise. Even the owner of this 250X has told me he wish he got the KTM.But it's really not a big enough difference to be a big deal at all. The KTM is gonna have weird little issues wild the Yamaha is going to be simple and mostly problem Free.. If I did it over again I would still buy the KTM Just because it's a few clicks away for being perfect. I got the xc because I generally ride faster. But after ridingng for the XCW I kind of wish I wouldn't have gotten that because you get more things and They feel about the same anyways
@@ridazach53 nice, would you rather have the yz 250x (wide ratio) or the 300xc (closed) as far as bike handling characteristics?? I often think the yz offers better suspension and ignition timing for the money. For more power a simple power valve modification and high compression head and your set. Then there is the XC, not sure on the suspension, seems to need adjustments out of the box to get what you pay for. In the end is there a clear winner?
@@ridazach53 what I love about the X is the power band isn't as abrupt as it's moto sibling the YZ250. Don't get me wrong, there's still a "hit", but it won't knock you on your tail. It's controllable. Hard to explain lol.
Lower your seat/suspension a bit, (up to 1.5" total), and rotate your bars back, (basically a late 80's set up), and you will ride better, and crash less. Also, set your sag at 100mm, not 105 or 110 with the rationally pulled back bars. You have a great set up for rhythm sections and freestyle though.
I ride a 2019 rmz450 myself . The suspension on this bike was 10x better . Way smooth in comparison . And the power was pretty good as well not as fast as my 450 but plenty power for what i do. I didnt get a chance to climb anything to see how well it tractors but over all i really liked it
@@AbcAbc-ox6pg i prefer the suspension on the 250 or my new ktm 300 xc . The rmz450 was very stiff but cornered well . Im sure if i road track it could be different but for trails these 2stokes are amazing!
I like to do power wheelies. As well as slow clutch wheelies. Will the 250x be a good and easy bike to do wheelies on? Does it have eoough power to lift wheel without clutch?
I want to say yes lol but i didnt do much of that . Honestly my 450 wluld be alot better for that lol but im sure this bike will amd if not it can be tuned to pretty easy
@Rob Jenkins I’ve got a 2020 YZ250X and it wheelies effortlessly 1-3rd. 4th gear I have to pull back on the bars but definitely not a problem. I recently put on an Apex head with a XC dome and now this thing has super torque. Maybe still not as much as a 450 4 stroke but it’s a big improvement, and still very reliable.
If You think you can do power wheelies and slow clutch wheelies but have to ask if a 250 2 stroke has enough power to do that then you’re lying or have no idea about bikes, no offence
@@ridazach53 When I saw the blue plastics with the dark number plate I knew right away that it was a 2021 not a 2020. Maybe it’s time to change the title 🤔
