Jeremiah was God's chosen vessel to preach His word to His sinful people. He was fully convinced that it was God who speak in and through him. Jeremiah disregard his own inability but trusting on God’s power that enabled him to do the works he did and to suffer for the sake of the gospel. He stand firm on God's word in Jeremiah 1:17 ".....Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak." God has said it, and I believe it. I am fully persuaded. I am not considering the circumstances. Such belief cannot come from mere human effort. It comes only from depending on God, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). God has promised that the Holy Spirit will help us in the most frightening settings, and so how much more may we depend on Him in less threatening situations. God's help comes when you consider Him, when you realize His power, when you praise Him, when you read His Word, and when you have heard His spoken word in your heart saying, "This is what I am going to do. Believe it ! " God uses humans to deliver His word. Human minds hear and understand the word from God, and then another set of human minds receive it from those human mouths and again hear and understand it. God has total authority over everything in this world, over devils, angels, circumstances, and all of the physical world . All we need to do is to surrender to the Father. Surrendering to God is showing complete faith in Him and belief in His promises. Jeremiah was told that even before he was born, he had been foreordained to be a prophet of God. God has already prepared him ahead of time. What God wants is a prepared messenger more than a prepared message. That was the cause why Jeremiah could continue in the Lord’s work for 40 years despite great difficulty. What sustains him during those dark moments ? Despite persecution , Jeremiah completed the mission that had been assigned to him . I believe Jeremiah might have prayed : I admit I can’t in myself do what needs to be done. I stand on God's promises that He will be with me. What can fear do to me ? I act to do whatever God is calling me to do. I am merely His chosen vessel for His name sake. May this be true of us ...
