From Wikipedia:
"Yellow Aster Butte is a 6,241-foot (1,902-metre) Skagit Range summit located three miles south of the Canada-United States border, in Whatcom County of Washington state. It is situated within the Mount Baker Wilderness, on land managed by Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The nearest higher neighbor is Winchester Mountain, 1.77 miles (2.85 km) to the east, and Mount Larrabee is set 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to the northeast. The summit offers views of Mount Larrabee, Tomyhoi Peak, American Border Peak, Canadian Border Peak, Mount Shuksan, and Mount Baker. Precipitation runoff on the north side of the mountain drains into Tomyhoi Creek, whereas the west side of the mountain drains into Damfino Creek, and the south slope is drained by Swamp Creek.
I did this hike August 16, 2022. I turned back just before the summit, as there was a slightly exposed section of scramble that I was not comfortable with, being a solo hiker.

Thanks so much for your detailed video hike. For me, this is priceless! My husband and I went on what I think is this trail about halfway up or so (we started too late) several years ago and never forgot it. I want to try it again with my husband and 14 year old son. I remember the forest road was so pot-holed that we had a flat tire when we got back to the car and had to ride home on a donut spare. I'm sure the forest roads are just as bad or worse, unless they did some work on them. Thanks again! So beautiful.

My thought as well. Nature's sounds are the best music. Thank you!

Much appreciated. I try to make them as close to the viewer being on the hike as possible. No talking or techno music. Just the hike.

Thanks for the very nice video. I did YAB on October 12, 2022, but wildfire smoke blew in as the day went on and spoiled the views. So your video showed me what I was missing! I was able to do the rock scramble up to the summit block but I climbed for 45 years so the exposure was ok for me. I'm 76 now and I was wishing I was still 26 on some of the lengthy, steeper sections of the trail! I'll have to come back and do it again so I can get the full 360 degree views.

I was going to guess that you were there on the 15th because I saw the same cars at the trailhead, the same blue backpack on that rock, and the same white tent near one of the tarns. The bugs weren't that bad for me on the majority of the hike, but they were very thick down by the tarns.

just an FYI: Camping is only allowed on bare rock or soil. Do not camp on top of plant life or in the meadows, it can damage the fragile alpine environment.

Thank you for sharing! Are there any sheer drop offs besides the very end? I am terrified of heights so making sure it’s a right hike for me before i sign up for it

I am afraid of heights. The only part that was an issue was that very end.

How can I get a forest pass?

REI sells them, as does Big5 and Dicks. They can be ordered online as well at www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r6/passes-permits/recreation/?cid=fsbdev2_027010

Yes, those views are amazing! Thanks for all the wonderful views- you had a perfect day and weather! Too bad about the mosquitos though. Great to see all the mountains and peaks around Baker. I’d love to do this one too, but the trail access seems intimidating! Thanks for sharing your trip! If you want to get together for a hike in September let me know, I’m optimistic we’ll still have clear skies 😄👍🌲🌲🌲 Jennifer
