But you will find through the history of MX that some guys did not train much, and could still beat the world. Lechien and Bayle for example, in their pro days, did not do much training off the bike, (JMB did ride a lot, sometime Ronnie did not even do that very often later in his factory career.). The reason why they got so smooth and fast, (and JMB became the best in the world in 91 here in the USA), is because when they got tired, instead of getting into triathlon shape, they figured out how to ride in a way that they did not get tired. #1 rule,----relax. If you can't do that, you are doing something wrong. :)
@@EarthSurferUSA you're talking about stuff that happened a long time ago. You can't not train in this day and age and expect to do good. Emig, McGrath, them guys would finish a race then end up at lake Havasu partying. Then Ricky charmichael came along and showed everyone what training and taking it seriously will do. Ever since Ricky, everyone trains. If you don't train, you won't be shit in professional motocross/SX
Yep, pressure dies funny things to people, as a competitor in many sports I've been on both sides....when it stings it does in a bad way but when it's sweet it's oh so sweet Not to mention the bonus in his contract for title win....cash a big fat check Props to Eli....he deserves it
Who is next in your face, the communist dictator of North Korea? Yea, you will think that is cool. Glad I am old. Bots are stupid even if it has a heart beat.
Always good to watch a homie win going away. It is snowing right now at Eli's and my place in SW Colorado. Hope he is enjoying the snow as much as I am.
To me what makes his career even more impressive is that he grew up so isolated in Cortez Colorado. I’m not too far from that area and there’s not much out there. Congratulations to the hometown Hero! The best rider of all time, I’m somewhat biased though!
I was hoping Sexton would win. This season was a huge learning experience for him. If he keeps going like this he will dominate the sport soon enough!! Also hope Roczen gets fit again. Let's go team Honda!!!
Roczen's problem is mental, not physical. Imagine being only .2 seconds down a lap, and in 10th place. It has to drive a champ like Roczen nuts. If the tracks demanded more talent, the best talent would not go crazy. We cheer to see 8 guys on the same second, but it destroys the spirit of the most talented.
@@EarthSurferUSA there could very well be a mental aspect that's part of the problem, but he definitely has health issues causing physical problems. Stewart's podcast with Roczen discussed it quite a bit.
@@alexdavies729 Hmmm...respectfully nope. Love my Yankee boys but the Euro dudes have been crushing them for about a decade. Expect the same this year. I'm hopeful but realistic- it'll be a thrashing for us this year (again).
@@neilreid2298 crushing? I wouldn’t say crushing bud but this is the best version of Tomac I think anyone has seen. Same with Sexton. I don’t see anyone touching them unless it’s a mudder and they get horrible starts
In every interview prior he kept saying he doesn't want to get involved lmfao. That didn't work out very well... seemed like he rode a wider bike with tomac than chase, definitely more agressive making Eli hesitant to make a move and open up an opportunity to get put on the ground
He has a right to hold position. Nothing he did was dirty or uncalled for, if tomac or sexton wants to get around they have to do it on merit no matter the circumstance. Thats racing, thats what his team would expect if he wants to keep his ride, and if it bothers people they shouldnt be watching.
Wow I really thought I was going to have a heart attack I was rooting so hard for Eli. Eli is done with the outdoors trust me. This outdoors frazzled him, and with good reason. I hope Chase can put this behind him, and become the new king of the outdoors. I respect Mr Coffee but I'm glad he fell, because he would have held Eli up like only Mr Coffee can do. I've never been a #7 fan but he was great in the booth even though he used at least 50 words out of context. Just polish #7 up and put him in the sx booth for 23.
Eli was a mental mess (as Roczen is), and that happens when a champ keeps getting 5-10th place finishes in the middle of his career. 8 guys on the same second actually damages the spirit of the most talented. Then Eli went to a new Yamaha team, and his psychological problems, well,---he threw them in the garbage where they belong. 2 championships out of 2 with the new team. I think he is racing one more SX and I think you are right about this being his last national series. I look at it as "Eli's break out retirement year". I think it is the first time in the history of the sport, for a guy to get his mojo back once it has been lost for a year or three. He did it in spades. The fact that eh can win championships is not surprising to me. He must have fired his shrink that Roczen is still using. His mental come back is the note worthy thing this year,---and we have not sen h9m so happy in a long time. Congrats for beating the FIM sabotage. The FIM wants everybody equal, like communism, and Eli showed them the individual can do better still. Hero stuff there man, hero stuff. :)
And to be quite frank, with the tracks not really challenging enough, (but are too fast IMO), to separate the talent of the pro's, (which is why we see 8 guys on the same second.), I never thought I would see anything that looks like domination again. I was wrong. I guess a determined individual can always beat equality.
@@justincoats7236 Stating facts about someone isn't hating on them. It's just not being a dick rider. You can be a fan of Sexton and still point out issues he has.
Next season, it will be between Chase and Hombre. Nobody else even close. I don't know what excuse to give. He is a hell of a rider and person. He will get it done. Immense pressure for that young man. He rides like he is on a supermini still. Reckless, fearless. Sometimes it destroys him.
For the final time Eli's coming I told you my boy was coming and he finished it off 11 dodo birds doodah maybe next year kid you're good just not good enough go tell Matt now you can do your old lady doing good season's over rest up great job young man love you class act 😁
I have to hand it to Eli, and I don't mean only the championship. Eli was having mental breakdowns (like Roczen and all the most talented tend to have today. Notice they never have the confidence to say, "I am going to win this race/championship", like we used to know we can back up.), and I did not think he would ever shine again. Then he switched to Yamaha, (at least a factory that will let him as the champ race for his home of the USA for the MXofN. You forgot already, what Kawasaki did to Eli, Adam and the USA.), and I am super impress that he has 100% turned around his designed mental block for the last 2 series. Eli Tomac did not just beat everybody (soundly) for the championship,----he beat the FIM's evil ways too. This is one series out of the last 20 pl;us,---that I will remember for the rest of my life. 2022, Eli kicked the FIM's azz!!!! (they want everybody to be "equal"). Congrats Eli. You are more of a USA MX hero than the rest of the industry realizes. :) Thank you. Doug in Michigan.
How the hell would you know if Eli was having mental breakdowns? He had 1 season of outdoors that he didn't win (Ferrandis won). You make it sound like he needed a straight jacket or something. Did you ever think that now that Eli is a father of 2 that his priorities have changed? Please think before you just put STUPID crap out there!!
Riders rarely say "I" anything anymore. The people in charge of them have made riders become like all other sports figures, especially like NASCAR, and insist that "I" be replaced with "we". Even though there's only one man on the bike, they all say things like "we got a great start", "we really struggled in the conditions today", "we need to find more stamina late in the race", etc.
man I love eli he got me watching races after like 20yrs again...but someone teach this guy how to win the whole shot before he retires plz🤣🤣...he'd have been untouchable his whole career if he had good starts
5:20 "He takes a little peak at Eli right there..." Did anybody else see him look around? I've watched the initial shot and the replay of his crash and the lead up to it multiple times and I don't see Chase look anywhere other than straight ahead. Am I blinking when it happens each time or was James seeing things that weren't real?
It was a good race but when chase crash the first time it was over for him Eli wasn’t worried bout chase if chase can fix those lil mistakes like Eli use to do back then chase will be great rider
Gotta be honest here Jett does not sound like the brightest bulb on the tree when i listen to his interviews so that could be part of the reason drug addict loser DR is a hero to him. Superb motorcycle racer though....
JS says it severals times, but I can't see CS23 looking over at ET03 at all (reviewed it 3 times) just before he crashes the first time at 4:45. Why would he keep saying that? create fake drama? IMO, he just crashed from trying too hard early.
@@yamahakid450f do you have a timestamp for that? I watched the 30 seconds or so before that crash multiple times and I didn't see him look anywhere other than straight ahead. The only moment he may have looked was at about 4:40 which was well before he went down and even thats hard to tell. I didn't see him look away at all where he went down, on the short straight before it or in the left corner that led into that area.
Speaking on Jeff emek he has been known to absolutely destroy some turns when he needs to he would go through turns sometimes better than Bubba scrubs he used to just Roost the whole turn I remember clearly
I hate the cheap drone shot, the over use it and it takes so much out of watching the race. Stop over using the drone!!!!! They bring all of those high dollar cameras to the track and then use less than good quality drone shots most of the race, sucks.
The drone shots are sponsored. They get paid for all of that advertising as opposed to the other shots. They aren't going to turn down that easy money, no matter what.
wrong again Stuart erase full throttle he didn't play kept going didn't care he went and showed you the top baby another miscommunication with reality Stewart but keep trying not
These announcers got to go they're a bunch of idiots first of all Chase had a chance to catch him but he got a beat down 9 second beat down falling as part of racing he heard in his ear the song Eli's coming and scared a little whipper snapper but he was balls to the walls Eli the whole race and there was no way he was going to lose but he didn't even have to win anymore beast mode baby Anna Yamaha sorry Kelly you should have paid them classic love you we want you back Eli beat him up again 2023 go get the money you earned it
Hmmm....all that in one sentence that makes absolutely no sense. Did you graduate any school at all dude??? And you are bitching about the race announcers???
James @ 5:00 : “What you’re going to see is, Chase taking a look over his shoulder for Eli”. Really ? Are you watching the same race James ? Are you taking imaginary vision enhancement drugs ?
What you mean, "one lucky Mo-Fo"? Eli held up under the pressure unlike Chase. As soon as Chase fell it was "OVER"! Sexton STILL has alot to learn! I wish Eli would race 1 more outdoor, just so he could kick Chase's ass again!
So what level of education does he have? Also, nobody can pretend that Emig doesn't make his fair share of miscalculations and predictions that fail. He is the king of referring to every mistake made on track as a "mental mistake". Every time a rider hits a rut that blew out since the last lap he came through, undershoots/overshoots a landing, misses a whoop with the front wheel, etc, he nearly always calls it a "mental mistake". We all know that's bullshit and we all know that he has no way of backing his claims.
