Really appreciate you walking us through your rig. It’s pretty much exactly the way I would option it…and I love the color. Getting the second battery (upfitter package) is key for supplying power to the house system.
Congrats! Those ecoboosts are rocket ships! My buddy has a built mid roof that he’s considering selling, but I need a high roof and the garage isn’t high enough for bikes. You have me thinking new build is the way to go. Excited to see your buildout!
Thanks! The ecoboost is really fast. I think I am going to keep it in Eco until I get on the highway. Feels like overkill for sure. I am glad I got it though.
I like the color. I ordered mine 5 months ago and it's encouraging to see that you received yours.. It's also discouraging to know how long you've been waiting. I can only hope it will happen before the end of summer.
Yeah seems like it doesn't matter when you order it's more about what vans they're building at that time. I've heard that Ford is scrapping all builds with Power sliding doors so hopefully you didn't order that option.
It would have been nice to hear the bottom line price for the entire van after hearing all of the options listed on the window sticker. The prices are big reasons why people read window stickers and watch RU-vid videos (to get a sense of what we can afford out there).
You can find that information over on the Ford Transit Forums. Lots of people share that info there. Totally different options and pricing for the 2023s. I hear they've pulled the Adventure Package among other things.
WTR did a fully built MPG test with their Storyteller Transit and got 14.3 mpg with 245/75R16 tires. Not bad. The turbo likes to drink when it kicks in.
Congratulations!! This is the exact van I want except maybe high roof? I would like the mid roof but I’m 5’10 and not sure it would work after building it out
I got the exact same van over here in Pendleton OR. The only difference is when I asked for tinted windows I didn't know you had to specify for the privacy glass, wish I knew that... Also wish I had gotten the factory running boards and headliner space up top. other then that I'm super happy about it, getting ready to drive down to La Jolla next month. :) Great job with the video.
ah, very nice. i went to dealer in jan '22 for almost same build plus matching bumper paint and a cpl things. they said msrp+ 10% plus dealer fee"s. it was a quick by bye now. maybe a '23 try.
Oh man, this is going to be a fun one ... glad manufacturers are getting on board with AWD on cargo vans. If you don't mind the drive to Seattle, I can probably get you a deal on any of the external work you need done (platform rack, ladder, etc.) as well as accesories (bike racks, traction devices, showers, fuel/water canisters, etc.).
Congrats. I'm in Portland as well and ordered a 2022 AWD HR from Newberg Ford. I just found out that mine won't be getting built. Mind sharing which dealership you ordered from?
What an incredible van! Congrats! Can’t wait to see the build. Pardon my rudeness for asking but what did you end up paying for it with those options? Thank you kindly.
@@berlindonut5444 $61,060 plus ended up paying an additional $2535 for an extended warranty. When pricing vans out used ones were going for $50k + for just a stock RWD white van. Very happy with the investment.
Fuel tank capacity please. LWB but didn't get the extended. Are you going to diagram it out before building? Looking forward to your build out! How are you going to insulate it? Curious on your heating system with gasoline.
It has an extended fuel tank. I don't know the capacity. The van is built out now and I made a video you can see on this channel. Went with the Espar Airtronic D2 which taps into the gas. Uses nothing and we've already used it in 7 degree snow storm in BC.
I have one question for you I see when you open the two back door on the driver side there is a switch on a little plastic plate I love to know the information on that if you have the information on it and the wire harness I also have the Forde transit high roof
What dealership did you get that from ? We have been trying to find one ? Also if you don’t mind , how much was that package ? They just came out w/ the Transit trail ! I’d like to compare . thanks
What a beautiful van! You are the first person I've seen demonstrate the HVAC controls since they replaced the manual knobs this model year. Can you confirm that it does NOT have automatic climate control? Do the screen controls just replace the physical buttons?
I am not sure about auto climate control. There are no physical buttons to control the temps. The only physical buttons you have are for the audio, drive mode, camera, and parking
@@BrokenandCoastal Thanks. I looked up the owner's manual, and it does look like it's true auto climate control; the three lights correspond to the fan speed range (one = lowest, three = highest). Odd that they don't advertise it that way.
Beautiful van! Still have problem with a 6 cylinder engine that can’t tow and gets less mpg than some V8s. Also Ford really dropped the ball with supply, a cargo van shouldn’t have almost a year wait time to get. Guess it’s their way to sell for over retail for someone who really wants one 😢
How tall are you and what amount of inches do you have left when standing? I am 5'6" and wife is 5'7" so want to make sure we can stand up inside. What Wheelbase model is yours by the way?
The plan will be to strip back the Sienna to just being a van. Remove the rack, cargo box, etc. My wife likes driving it over her Jetta so will plan to sell that.
I pretty much did the same thing! We sold our 2013 Jetta Sportwagen TDI and bought a 2006 Sienna AWD last year. Way nicer to drive besides fuel mileage. Now my wife and I both have minivans. But with 2 small kids it's great.
I like how compact the medium roof is. It looks like a super sized mini van vs a massive high roof. If we lived in the van or had kids a high roof would probably have been a better option. I hit tree branches enough in the MR I cant image having a HR with all the places that I go. At 5'6 I can comfortably stand in it.
I placed my Transit (specs same as yours) order in Oct 2021 and I’m still waiting. Ford sent me an email in Oct 2021 stating my order was confirmed but I haven’t heard from them since. Did you get email updates? Were the emails accurate as far as a time frame for waiting? Thanks for your video. It gives me some hope haha.
I ordered my 2022 model 10th September 2021 and found out last week that it was not getting built as a 2022. If I want to reorder a 2023 model it will be an extra $7000.
@@BrianLee-nz3vm I was recently told the same thing. Ford canceled my order for 2022 and I would have to reorder for a 2023 with a higher price. I walked away out of frustration. Couldn’t take the run around game any longer.
That 5” Weldtek lift is for RWD only. Can’t really go over 2.25” lift with AWD do to the CV angles and front dif height. The Van Compass 1.75” is preferred.
American cars unfortunately suffer too many faults and are more expensive in every way than those of European or Asian competition.... AMERICA massified the use of the automobile but never learned to make them of better quality, price and competition....
That’s awesome. I love the color too. I would have chosen this had I known it was an option. Went with carbonized gray though. When did you put your order in?? Placed mine Dec 1 2021 and it still hasn’t gone into production 🥲
