Inboard highlight of the #599 / 4th overall 5/1600 at the 2022 Battle At Primm race !
Heat 1 - 6th/12
Having never done short course races before, we knew they would be a lot of learning to do on the first laps. We managed to pass Mario Ledezma on the first lap and decided to pace ourselves behind Guy Savedra as we knew he was a fast driver.
Coming in lap 3 we saw an opportunity to pass Guy and took it !
Heat 2 - 3rd/12
Probably the most fun I've ever had in that car ! Started on the grid with Ken Flippin and Guy. (again!) The track was heavily watered this morning and very slippery.
Guy had the outside on turn 1 and managed to sneak in the lead. We managed to pass him few turns later on the dry lake bed.
Being a lot more confident after the practice from the previous day, we were able to push the car even more ! So much we got surprised by some bumps and managed to make a wheelie with the car :D
Ken Flipping managed to stay behind us in lap 1 but we kept pushing and slowly bridging the gap with the car in front.
We caught up on Jared Ingram at the end of lap 4 and we knew that if we wanted 3rd overall we had to pass him and build a 11 second gap.
We pushed as hard as we could to put the car in front but we didn't had any straight line speed advantage, making a clean pass difficult. We still try to put pressure on Jared forcing him to do mistakes but managed to hold us up until the end ! Great battle ! Wish we had one extra lap ;)
Overall finish - 4th/12
Great result overall, we finished only 11 seconds behind Jared ! Looking forward to the next one now that we knows the track.
