I had an actual Karen experience today. I had to use the sidewalk because the road was all potholes. Some woman was walking her dog and stopped to let me by. As I'm riding by her nice and slowly, she just gives me this disgusted look and calls me "Moron" for no reason.

good value, but why o why do they out the charging port just where you have your foot? do they want you to break it at the first ride? the storm has the same problem, but there its cause its a removable battery at least, so they kind of had to. but this place even worse! i really hope they stop putting it at the worst spot possible in the future.

Thanks OhManDan for the honest review! How would you rate this model on a scale of 1 to 10 with regards to range, power, built quality, speed, and responsiveness? I gotta lotta New stuff Coming your WAY. So Stay Tuned Buddy. I think the BlueTran Lightning ranks around an "7" in its Class of Scooters (ZERO 10X, Apollo Pro, Mantis, w/o Steering Damper) I would not try to compare it directly with the Dualtron Brand (I don't think they intended it to rank equal to their Dualtrons) however, it is a viable alternative economical option. I do strongly believe (like the D6+) that once fitted with a Steering Damper, proper inflated tires, and right height rake... that the BlueTran Lightning will hold its own (in its Class) as a formidable competitor. Thanks... as long as people support my Channel, I will continue to invest my all.
I have heard that Zoom brakes are shit compared to NUTT, but damn! If your stopping distance is 9'.3" @ 15Mph, what is you stopping distance @ 55Mph? About two football fields?

The BlueTran is a great Scooter for those who don't need BiG Power Scooters. The small tires and small frame is a little too small for me. That wobble was irritating because I couldn't even maximize its speed potential. It felt like it had more to give but it was just too unstable. Just about ALL my 32 Scooters are BiG Power Scooters and I just don't have stability issues with them. As for comparing the BlueTran with the Dualtron I would say that it is truly a different Scooter than Dualtrons (I prefer the Dualtrons more) but it is no comparison to the Dualtron Brand. I think it should be compared to Scooters in its Class. More like a D6+, a Phantom or a Mantis.
Im surprised you experienced the wobbling, with mines i dint experience any of it. U need to make sure you tighten the locking slides correctly n have no movement on the steering tube.
I was very surprised it was so bad, with those small wheels, I expected a little after 40mph but this was bad. I definitely made sure everything was tight, my tires were inflated to 45psi, and the rake on the front was set at right height. It was worst than my D6+. But after the Steering Damper, it may be very worthy Commuter
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan I can understand it may be small for your height, i am only 5’9 n 180 lbs so on a heavier guy it can experience wobbling in my opinion. I just dint have that experience tho.

I gotta lotta New stuff Coming your WAY. So Stay Tuned Buddy. The Speed Wobble is a very valid concern, as you heard me mention in the Video. I don't know who you bought yours from... I did speak to John and Cooper over at MiniMotorsUSA.com (where I bought my BlueTran Lightning from) and they told me that they were experiencing some calls from people who were facing this problem. They went on to tell me what happened. It turns out that the Manufacturer in China, shipped a batch that had lose Headset Jam Nut which they were able to identify and repair (by tightening the Headset Jam Nut). There are some other points I'd like to recommend as well to completely solve your Speed Wobble concerns. 1. Tighten both Fold Locking Clamps properly and sufficient 2. Check and properly inflate your tires (I like to inflate my around 3psi to 5psi lower than Manufacturer suggestion in order to guarantee a nice contact Patch for better traction. 3. Buy a Steering Damper (currently there's only one available Brand that works for The Blue Tran Lightning) I will recommend that Brand as they are a very good and reliable Brand (it is The ERREX Brand) Doing these three things in addition to having your Headset Jam Nut properly torqued will bring you the MOST STABLE Ride you've ever experienced on an Electric Scooter and take care of ANY and ALL of your Speed Wobble issues. If you bought your Scooter from MiniMotorsUSA.com, they are well prepared to mitigate and take care of this issue for You (If not, please contact The Vendor You bought Yours from). Again, this BlueTran Lightning is a Commuter (very limited in its scope compared to DTX 1 or 2) The DTX Brand can ONLY be compared with major Power Scooters in its Class. This Scooter is a Commuter with a few bells and whistles but far below the range of a DTX 1 or 2. The DTX3 should be coming sometime this summer, around August but of course we know those dates are always subject to move later and later.
is the height of the stem adjustable? I did stood on one on them at the shop and it feels uncomfortable as I feel like my arms are too stretched out or maybe im just used to Segway commuter scooters.
Hey @Japs Pamplona... thanks for visiting Scootopia. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my Channel if you FIND my Content Informative, Beneficial, or Helpful to your PEV Journey. The best way to find out your ideal Pole height is to take your favorite Scooter, sit it on a stable platform off the ground, where you can stand on the deck safely. While on the deck, hold your arms relaxed, down to your sides, with your elbows slightly bent about 110°-130° angle and you hands in a relaxed fist (as though you're lightly holding the grips) have someone measure from the deck to your palm and that measurement will be your ideal Pole height. It should be slightly above your belly button. Stay SAFE out there my friend and remember to always GearUP whenever, wherever You Ride. No, the Steering Pole is not adjustable Buddy.
My bluetran lightning just broke while I was going probably 35 mph. I have severe road rash. The front just fell down when I went over train tracks. Hey @Julian... thanks for visiting Scootopia. If you like my Videos, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to my Channel so that you don't miss any of my Power Scooter Content. I gotta lotta New stuff Coming your WAY. So Stay Tuned Buddy. The range is relative to Rider Weight, "P" Settings, Road Conditions, Climate, and Battery Charge. I was able to get just under 60 miles of range but my weight is 240lbs (with gear), my speed setting was "#2", Power was at 80%, and I maintained 20mph the whole ride, for almost 4hr ride both ways (27 miles going and back). When manufactures suggest speed, range etc, they are basing it on 165lb Rider and all the other conditions I gave above must be perfect, then you'd probably get their claimed speed, range etc (that applies to all electric scooters Julian)
I have a Mantis. I just need more range but close to same weight. I took a NAMI for a test ride from FFR here in NYC and while it was super nice, it was just simply way too big. I live in a small studio in NYC and my Mantis is already big enough. I was thinking perhaps a DT Spider 2 for it's low weight or the new DT Victor Luxury? I want a mid-weight scooter with long range. Which would be a good choice?
Wowww Brother, those are two great choices, but I want you to also check out the Achilleus and tell me which two of the three you favor and I will have a greater idea of your preference. I'm thinking you'll like the Spider 2 more because of the weight and you get a big bang with considerably less price tag... Let me know what you think.
@@jessa.3857 Yuuuup, it's a little heavier than the Victor (around 86lbs) and the Spider 2 is still less than 60lbs (I think it's around 56lbs) but that Achilleus is pretty nimble.
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan That's exactly why I still like my Mantis, it's nimbleness! That Nami I test rode was stiff and wide turns in comparison. It had a steering damper so perhaps that's why it felt stiff. Maybe I need to get used to that, lol. I need light and nimble with lots of range and power (if possible!) here in NYC. If I owned a home and lived in the country, I'd def go big and just park them in the garage.

@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan The speed wobbel, thats nothing to play with. If you have power but cant use it because your life will be at risk, thats not small problem if you ask me.
@@matalden9363 Yes, you're absolutely right. It is a problem that stem across many Manufacturers that need to be addressed. First of all, the smaller the wheel size the higher the risk for speed wobble. Smaller wheels are generally more dangerous and should not be used in conjunction with high speed. However this focus exist with NAMI, BRONCO, ZERO, NanRobot, YUME, and many other Scooters because of poor R & D, and Production. Whenever I see Scooters with smaller wheels and also some with larger wheels that do not focus in their R & D phase on Production there are going to be problems... Guaranteed! All Scooters will have problems, it boils down to WHAT the Manufacturer and/or Vendor is going to do about those problems that WILL MAKE all the DIFFERENCE in the world. Whenever issues are presented. The BlueTran has been recalled (ordered to be returned to the Vendor for repairs) [ CALL FIRST arrange convenient times for those repairs ] to be handled. To date ALL BlueTran Lightnings have been FiXED and is in a better place today... All because MiniMotors have addressed these safety concerns and fixed them. The same for NAMI, APOLLO and ZERO, they all addressed their issues, and fixed them straight away. NanRobot just fixed their long standing issues with regard to the Speed Wobble and BRONCO outright REFUSED to even consider the Customer with their very dangerous issues (I spoke to the owner directly and he TOLD me as much) and for their callus neglect, they have been put on a LIST of Manufacturers who look at the Customer as only a dollar figure, with no regard to resolving issues in the best interest of those Consumers. I have spoken to all of these Manufacturers about these issues and like I said, some responded favorably and others have not as I have addressed here in this direct response. My BlueTran Lightening WAS seriously affected by the issues you've discussed but TODAY my BlueTran has none of the Speed Wobble issues it initially had... because MiniMotors listened to my concerns and FiXED every one of those issues. So though you bring up very valid concerns, you don't have to worry about them with respect to the BlueTran Lightening's Speed Wobble issues. All of those safety concerns have been fixed. However... do understand my friend, that there are certain things that every one of US-- Scooter Owners WILL have to DO in order to guarantee that OUR Scooter(s) operate at THEIR SAFEST Capacities. In many cases... because we've bought Scooters with smaller wheels... we WILL, at times, have to purchase added safety measures, like steering dampers, wider bars, better shocks, better Tires and brake pads. We also have will have to buy more ancillary items like; better lights, reflectors, mirrors etc in an effort to make our Ride Safer and more pleasurable. So yes there are issues... but if we continue holding Manufacturers and Vendors accountable, plus DOING our PARTS to mitigate what is in OUR power to execute... in order for everything to work like they should, we should be okay. Look at the bright side... we're getting there but there's still lotsa work to be done. That's why I WORK so HARD behind the scenes to protect the interest of Consumers. Thanks for your comment and addressing critical facts that warrant some addressing. In most cases this is the ONLY way responsible Manufacturers and Vendors will find out and make the necessary corrections needed to keep us safe. Both these are pretty close but the Dualtron Victor Luxury comes out atop in my book and would choose the Victor Luxury over the BlueTran Lightning.
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan what cuts are you referring to? since as I understand the bluetrain lightning is better equipped than the victor luxury (button for turn signals, angle adjustment on the handlebar, possibility of increasing-decreasing the inclination of the ground, etc.) in addition to having greater power and autonomy? PS: I already found out about the wobble problems at high speeds of the bluetrain lightning handlebars that are causing discomfort in its buyers. In this regard, the dualtron victor luxury does not have them? Thanks for your answer.
@@pabloantonioalveararriaran696 hey Brother... I'm just referring to less expensive components in order to deliver at a lower cost to Consumers. There are several components that are not the same quality as Dualtron Components. There's nothing wrong with that, we Consumers are very familiar with Manufacturers having to do this with all sorts of Brands that we buy. Make no mistake... we get what we pay for. I actually love the BlueTran Lightning and the purpose it serves for me. There are several things people can do to mitigate the Speed Wobble and they are: 1. First get the Headset Jam Nut tightened 2. Then add a Steering Damper. ERREX is the only one available right now, it's $500 dollars but it's worth every cent. 3. Then Tighten Fold Locking Clamps properly. 4. Then check and correct Tire Pressure. I like to add 3-4PSI less to get a good contact patch for better traction. Do these and You will enjoy your Lightning for many years without Speed Wobble.
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan thank you for your answer. I only ask you to tell me if the dualtron victor luxury presents problems of wobbling in the mast at high speeds since I am about to buy a scooter and this would help me in my choice.
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan No they don't. I am talking about split-rim rings. For example my ultra and Speedway 4 Pro have split Rim rings and the new spider 2 does not.
Yeah... I don't expect this one to move you Brother. I think this is for a certain type of person (not an eNthusiast) and not any one who loves power and speed. Looks nice and has a gentleness about it that I can see filling a large swatch of Consumers.
This is my future scooter I will modify for more power (80 mph) once I get it. In stock form this is slow, it has only one 30A controller powering the rear motor, and the front is not a motor but just an aluminum wheel with motor-looking cover, you could say a "wheel cap" in cars. So it's only putting out 30 amp...which explains for 40 mph top speed. The battery has plenty of headroom and the deck inside is HUGE. I will replace the battery pack with ultra-performance batteries built by me. Wiring and connections will be full pure copper. Handlebar and pole will be carbon fiber. Tires will be replaced with 11" slick tires (not the PMT). Will mount a seat with carbon fiber seat post and lightweight saddle. The entire deck space will be occupied by the battery. The Rion FOC controller will be mounted on the lower part of the handlebar pole. It will be a rear wheel drive. This is my upcoming project.
@@jesseh56 I know it sounds awkward to say but that front wheel doesn't have a motor it's just a lightweight aluminum wheel with motor-looking cover, similar to a hubcap on car wheels. If you don't believe me get your hands on one of these and check it out yourself. And also the controller is just one not two.

But I’m glad to know you weren’t playing on the whole “KAREN” thing, despite you bolding her name, because that was her _actual_ name. I apologize for missing that, but I hope you can understand the confusion on my part, especially given the way you prefaced your interaction. But with that aside, I agree that we should be SAFE out there, and always wear protective gear, like special helmets, especially when we engage in conversations where we’re overly defensive about using racialized terms in a joke-y way. 😉
@justinklein2982 I don't know where your mindset is or was but you are the ONLY person thinking "racialized" terms. You have taken my statement way out of context because you piece watched the Video and missed important context, thus arriving at YOUR own interpretation that was far from my messaged context. My preface to watch to the end was just as it implied... and if you had seen my face when I asked her name gleam with the biggest smile after she said "My name is Karen" you would understand the full context and premise. Everyone on the planet isn't racist, nor think in those terms as you describe. Especially me, if you've watched my videos... or even visit our website you would discover that I have been an Humanitarian since I was 8yrs old (a pure love for ALL Mankind) Helping hundreds of thousands of people around the world and all over the Country become the best version of themselves, creating thousands of millionaires in the process regardless their race, creed, status, looks, and even behavior. I have loved on even the most racist people and those who bad mouth me in ways that others may say they could never do because it is WHO I am. Perhaps you know nothing about me, my legacy, reputation or stance but perhaps visiting our website can help you understand who "OhManDan" truly is. Life's too short for this kind of tension especially with such a lovely Karen who has become my good friend.
@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan Well I apologize if I got it wrong, but it sure seemed to me that you were indeed playing on the “KAREN” moniker. But whatever - you’re right, life is too short to make mountains out of molehills. I appreciate the content and wish you nothing but the best. Cheers.
