Why do so many people still hold the start button in until the engine has started? A quick push and release has been standard for so many years now. Even back with my old 2012 Opel Astra which had a key, you only flicked it quickly and the engine started.
@@SuperOpticJlet the engine cool slowly before shutting it off. i always drive my 530xd slower for the last 10-20km before parking it after a long/high speed highway drive. it's a practice:idling before shutdown. When a diesel engine runs, the coolant circulates, maintaining a steady temperature. Shutting down a hot engine abruptly stops coolant circulation, causing lack of heat dissipation and therefore potential damages can occur. Idling for a few minutes allows the engine to cool gradually, preventing sudden contraction and wear. Few of the main validation tests for automotive products are thermal cycle and thermal shocks. Nothing lasts forever and the more cycles/ shocks occur, the nearer it gets to the end of life for material/structure integrity
Wish I could afford the 2020 G30 530D X-Drive. Remap it from 286 to approx 330-335bhp. I would then have the DPF removed from the inside and welded back on to pass it's MOT and also a gearbox remap. I would say it would maybe push 350bhp or around that figure and only use premium diesel too. Definitely just a shitty dream I'll never be able to afford.
The rwd traction is amazing in dry or wet. You do t get much oversteer and I find it nicer than the x drive. If you have winter tyres and if you are in the snow you should be fine.
