Ordered mine last week, can't wait for that! Finally a little video about the changes with 2022. The sound is a beautiful upgrade inside (instead of the 2021 one). Pops and Bangs for the childish heart, even when they are only virtual. Awesome!

Hm. 100-200 time exactly between Golf R and Golf GTI and slower than a S3. I expect a little more of a BMW.

When you mention better suspension, is there any downgrade on the comfort level because it was (in the first model) one of the main good things (keeping good quality ride on bumpy roads)? Nice video as usual 👍

I don't care if it is a "better" car than the previous M140i. They have taken away the two things that made that car special and made a Golf R clone. And the engine sounds boring.

I have the 2020 model and while I was extremely disappointed that they removed the (real) pops after I placed my order (the car I test-drove had them), I am not sure I’d want fake pops. Maybe the upshift farts, but not even sure. Even though it’s not very loud, the car does have a nice engine tone (videos don’t do it justice). So I prefer to have a more “pure” experience with the (more or less) real sound inside. Otherwise I’ll just get a VW Up, put some earphones and play a Lamborghini soundtrack when driving spiritedly 😂 For reference about the sound, I recently test-drove an M440i and it had even less sound than my M135i. Even my wife was shocked and said she preferred the M135i. I also didn’t feel a huge difference (if any) in the acceleration feeling. But of course, it’s a different car for a different target market.

LOL - what a step backwards - body, engine, performance, sound ... I would buy an old M140i and turn it into a 600hp Porsche-Killer... but the new M135 sucks!

No one seems to complain about the E30 M3 being a 4 pot.

Where did you see "well over 260 on the speedo"? It`s limited to 254 km/h on speedo and 246 km/h on GPS!

Not really a fan of BMW these days but this is a nice car. Im 54, looking to buy something to keep for many years, cash buy. I like this colour, I need AWD because of where I live and auto is a must as well.

I’ll keep my m140 3l, straight 6, rwd. This was once a great car but BMW keeps ruining it. I’ll rather get an RS3 or A45s. I’m not a Benz fan but compared to this m135 I’d rather go for it. And I’ll never trade my m140 for anything.

It may be as fast as the old 6 cylinder, but without it it’s nothing special anymore. Its just like every other 300 HP Hothatch we have. The old one was at least special. Id rather choose any other Hothatch on the market to be honest. And i say that as a BMW fan.

Man hört so eine Art "Upshift Fart" wie bei den älteren DSG Fahrzeugen & Pops im Innenraum obwohl außen eigentlich keine existieren? (oder existieren die Pops und Sie werden hier im Video nur nicht von außen gezeigt?) Ich finde den Sound eigentlich für 2022 echt okay aber was soll dieses Vorgegaukel von etwas, dass nicht da ist? Autos werden leiser in der EU, das ist leider so, aber dann habe ich lieber das was vom Sound noch übrig geblieben ist (komplett ohne irgendwas von den Lautsprechern oder nem Aktuator der unter der Frontscheibe sitzt) und der dann eben leiser ausfällt, als diesen Fake Sound und vor Allem Fake Pops. Das ist ja ne ganz neue Ebene, dass man jetzt noch Fake Upshift Knallen und Pops & Bangs im Innenraum suggeriert, die gar nicht da sind.

Golf is much better choice in this category if you want premium hothatch. Much quicker and much more fun to drive. Almost the same price, better looking.

The worst car ever produced from BMW. Expensive, not fast enough, lack of emotion and understeer..

Glad I got the real deal in a hatchback. M140i xdrive has everything you need. I6 with a great sound, good looking car (F40 looks like shit) compared to this one and more power that xdrive actually puts down a decent way compared to its RWD counterpart.
