aye! Cruising thru the streets of my City! I just ordered me a 23 x3M40i two weeks ago. I was looking at the x3M , but decided on the M40i...I have the black sapphire , with the red interior as you along with the jet black wheels High performance tires. I also got the M sport Diff. I had to get that! I am going to buy me a front splitter for it. my tint will be 35 windshield , 15% front and rear over the factory tint. I am thinking about getting a Dinan tune for it..I am researching it to see if it will void my warranty or not. Great review man! when I seen you on vista Del Mar I was like oh he's near dockweiler beach where I go for a bonfire!
Handles so much better as a rwd. These cars aren’t made to do quarter mile times I honestly wouldn’t get xdrive for this car in California. X drive also makes the car have slightly more under steer and the suspension sits higher from the factory
Highly recommend a ceramic coating. Youd be surprised at the condition of the paint that you get from factory, with micro swirls... A quality shop will buff those out and ceramic coat will make it absolutely pop... and you get some elements of protection as well.. You can usually get a quality ceramic coating for $600-$1500(depending where you go).. I had a M240i that was going to be delivered at the end of August, but my dealership called and said they had a new M3 Comp xd that just came available that was already sitting in the showroom, so I upgraded and will be picking it up this Thursday. Could not be more excited. Though, if Im being honest, Ive always been the "underdog" type, and as much research as I did on the M240i, I kinda grew attached to it, without even sitting in it yet... Had a detailed plan of modifications, and now I have to start that process all over. S58 mods are literally twice as expensive as well, so I wont be able to get it all done at once, but the ceiling is much higher. Ive never driven an M3.... Actually...... Ive never driven a BMW. Ive been a Mercedes guy the past few years, but im looking forward to changing to the UDM... Congratulations on your M340i! I know that car(M240,M340,M440) all have amazing potential, and great value for what you receive. Very much underrated gems... Cheers
For sure man! I had ceramic coating on my previous car. It truly is a game changer it makes washing the car so much easier as well. My car actually was delivered with honestly horrible paint quality. Been meaning to get the paint correction and ceramic coating since ive gotten the car. The dealership will absolutely destroy your paint on your brand new car and think nothing of it. Congrats on the new M3 Comp you will love it!! Hopefully my next car in the future.. dealers in SoCal are asking 15-20k over sticker price so the car becomes literally double the price of a m340. The b58 has insane potential for the price point but that s58 is just a monster!!! Excited for you bro you will love your new car!
@@Imzeetism I thought it looked like you was driving around Huntington/Newport/Laguna Beach areas, couldnt tell for sure tho... My brother lives in Newport beach, and Ill actually be relocating there in the next 6 months or so for a new company my business partners and I are launching. So its a win/win, as I havent lived close to my brother since we was kids... Yeah I know, dealerships are assholes in Cali & Miami areas, their markups are ridiculous. You would think there would be price gouging laws against that. I understand a $2k-$5k markup, thats ok, depending on demand+supply, but anything higher should be restricted. Thats one reason why im buying the car now, and not after I relocate there.... Surprisingly, my dealer is pretty cool and not charging me more then BMW's mandated price min. Which is $5k over MSRP. I can accept that, given the fact I can buy the car, drive it for a year, and sell it in Cali and not lose a dime. The crazy thing is my M240i was supposed to be delivered this week, but it was delayed due to waiting for the shipping transporter / ship to be filled, as BMW reduced their production of M240 for the last month, so I kinda got lucky... The car is almost to the spec I would have ordered it too. I would have chosen Brooklyn or Dravit grey and not skyscraper grey, but Ill likely wrap it satin black and put on some gold-ish or bronze rims from BBS. I did some research today with what little "me time" I had.... and I believe I have my list of mods ironed out. Nothing crazy.... Just a few performance upgrades to help it breathe a little better(HF+Catted DP, HF Exhaust, Intake) , flex fuel sensor(So I can use a bit of E-85 for its cleaning benefits), lowering springs, and potentially a custom tune sometime down the line to improve efficiency and not pushing to its limits... Ill likely roll with Active Autowerk, project Gamma, Burger Tuning Flex fuel, & KW springs.. Its super easy to go down the "upgrade rabbit hole" such as Wagner Manifold & Intercooler upgrade with port injection rail, Meth Injection, Motiv Reflex management, trans tunes, etc etc... Theres always going to be someone faster, just make the car yours, personalize and upgrade it a bit from stock, and enjoy it... If you get caught up in keeping up, you'll never be satisfied. I suppose its in our nature to want more, and from what I gather the BMW community can be a bit anal & egotistical. Im not about that life and just want to enjoy the car and what it has to offer, and not push anything to its limits, or worry about reliability issues, or 0-60 etc. I grew up on the back roads of WV, so Id rather a car handle well then have the fastest 0-60. When you get a little older, I suppose a personal experience is more important then someone elses perception of your experience. Im absolutely stoked, Im sure you are too. Perhaps we'll run into each other at a BMW meet sometime... Never been to one, but Illl likely go to a couple when I out in the area. Look forward to seeing what path you choose for your M340i! Cheers
@@brianmiller1977 hey, would you ever consider posting your car or what you're doing with it? you sound like you know a lot about what you want/ or have done (by now), would love to see progress
Super easy bro it’s just sport plus> press traction control button once,> gear lever in manual mode> press brake as hard as you can then floor the throttle. (Try to build a little bit of boost before taking your foot off the brake) also it will shift for you. I’ll make a video demonstration of it.
sick car bro!! owning a b58 is definitely on my bucket list🔥💪 Do you still own this car? If yes you should really do a (long term) ownership review, ppl would really like that i think🫡🫡
Thank you for answering bro😭. Does muffler delete void warranty? My friend said he got it done for 200 bucks I think so this will be a quick fix for the mild Hybrid system.
@@Imzeetismhi, one question, does the muffler delete change the tone of the exhaust? You know how our mild hybrid has that choked sound when in low rpms, i was wondering if the muff delete eliminates that😭 please help me out
In the market for an m340i soon. Other then the newer mild hybrid on the 21+ any changes in the interior? Screens quicker or better tech in te 2022s vs the 202s?
I know that with the 2021 and 2022’s there’s just more options available. I believe the red interior became a no charge option on the 2022. Also with the 2020 I know people were getting weird rattling noises in the speaker on the dashboard by the windshield and idrive issues. 2020 being the first model year of the car your are going to get small imperfections that they improved in the following model years. Pretty common of bmw tbh.
@@Imzeetism aye appreciate the quick response. Yeah sounds about right. Perfect spec, exactly what I want just looking for low mileage awd one. Hoping to pick one up in 3-6 months when prices hopefully drop a little!
@@Imzeetism overall how would you rate ownership? I have tons of friends who have them and love them in fact just drove a 2020 today tuned with an intake shits addicting
@@ethanmittler3682 ownership has been flawless so far. Haven’t had any issues with the car (I’m at about 10k miles now) and you really get so much car for the money. The m340 completely shits on all the competitors, imo it’s the best daily for the money.
Biggest callout with the 20's is the they have oil consuption issue & oil pump issue. But most people who had that issue from brand new had it likely replaced under warranty at some point with the revised parts. I did it with mine.
I’ve had it for a year now and I haven’t spent any money on maintenance, just tires. Dealer services it for free i believe it was a maintenance package that I got with the car
theoretically if i did this to my 540i with b58 it should sound just like this if i did a muffler delete right? Less burbles tho cuz mine is tuned to be more luxury
Correct. Although I believe the 540 has resonators and a muffler. The m340 doesn’t come with any resonators from the factory. If you got a resonator delete and muffler delete it will make it sound very similar to mine
@@Imzeetism im definitely going to start off with just getting a resonator delete and m5 qaud tips, keeping the stock muffler for now. I didnt know the m340 had no resonators thank you, i always wondered why it sounded different than mine both stock regardless how similar of cars they are.
Pops on the revs sound cheap to me. I hear them on kids cars. I prefer the precision highly engineered sound of a well tuned BMW engine working it's way through the gears. Just my thoughts.
