The gray with the red seats looks good. And, I’m a big fan of the tail lights and sculpted sides. Just an all around nice SUV from BMW. Thanks Brian. 👏
I just saw your video on the base 230i it was excellent! It’s a great entry level luxury daily at a fair price. With the right color combination and minimal options it’s a true bargain sporty compact coupe with plenty of torque and power for ordinary driving around town.
I like how you say it’s not a fast car. It’s definitely a fast car. 0-60 is done in 6.0 seconds. That’s faster than many so called sports cars like the Golf GTI for instance. And remember, this is a medium size SUV, way heavier. If you compare it to the X3 M40 than of course it’s not as fast. The M40 is borderline a performance SUV. 0-60 is done is the high 4 second mark which is super fast. I guarantee the regular 30i that you just drove will smoke almost every other SUV in the street that isn’t $20k more expensive than it. Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC300 will probably have a very similar performance than it as well. All great cars, but again, definitely a fast car.
A golf GTI is 5.5 seconds lol, 6 seconds isn’t really that fast, it gets up and moves, but I wouldn’t consider that time to be fast at all. This isn’t the performance model, as you said as well, the M40 offers that. Still a great suv, I never said it wasn’t, just not quick.
I bought the same vehicle in Brooklyn gray with black interior, 21inch rims, and remote start, coming from m240i convertible, I'm not disappointed with the power, and with gas prices I'd rather have something more fuel efficient
I purchased this exact model X3 LCI about 6 months ago having upgraded from a 2016 BMW X1 sDrive diesel. The two cars are miles apart in terms of refinement and handling to the point where there is no comparison. The X3 is my pick of the mid size SUVs in the luxury class. At the time, I test drove the Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC 300. I just felt the BMW was the better driving car as opposed to the Mercedes which was more refined with its interior. Forget about Audi - I felt the interior was a little dated and down market and the performance was underwhelming. In Australia, our X3's are well specced up - they come standard with the Vernasca leather, not the Sensatec. Also, mine came with the laser adaptive headlights which adjust intensity for the driving conditions. Then again, prices for BMW's in the Australian market are starting to get ridiculous so we have an expectation that they are well specced out.
Nice write up! We've been very impressed with the X3 as well. Seems to be the perfect sized SUV and honestly is priced very well for each trim. Why get a loaded up Hyundai when one of these can be not much more lol. This and the X5 are so solid!
I will take this car. I like the red(or brown) color seats and blue exterior color. If BMW will get rid of those dashboard electronics and cut the prices, I be more happy.
It's a great SUV for sure! I don't think they will remove the features. And these seem well priced for what you get. Not much more then American or Japanese vehicles
Honestly it’s fine. My brother will be buying an X3 and he wanted the M40i, but won’t be using it for the performance with that engine. He’s going sdrive30i and it’ll work well for him.
This, or a 2023 x1 28i? The difference on a lease is not a big difference. The thing that bothers me a little from easily choosing an x3, is the huge difference in torque.
