The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in eight(!) trim levels, and the differences can get pretty complicated.
In this video, I drive the Black Diamond trim level, describe how it differs from the cheaper Big Bend, and let you know why I'd pick the Big Bend if it were my money.

Black Diamond also has standard steel bumpers, discounted modular bumper, and skid plates.

Black diamond also has a rear locker, substantially better tires, and a steel powder coated bumper along with the better interior. So yes 2700 dollars more makes perfect sense.

CORRECTION: Black Diamond also comes with a standard rear locking diff and auxiliary accessory switches. This changes the cost-benefit analysis, and I'd actually lean towards Black Diamond over Big Bend given the price difference. Thanks to Adam W. for commenting and pointing this out!

Through the big footy package in one convince package in you have four Awd which I like in the rain. Ford has hands down the best 4wheel drive systems. Lmao black diamond and less the super goat features and super shocks. F off see you on top of the mountain. Yah that bronco is great. Or buy a zr2. Either way you can’t wheel buy the raptor pound your way to the top. Seriously old school locker guy. Your spoiled. True stoty

500 dollars to add rear locking diff to big bend. 700 dollars to add ford skid plates. Everything else is a wash. The additional 3000 dollars of difference (talking 4 doors) can help with perch collar lift, bigger tires.

You also get skid plates in the black diamond and you also get an electronic locker which as an option is at least 500-1000 dollars normally

You can not compare the Big Bend with a Black Diamond Bronco. I upgraded from a Big Bend. These are two very different Broncos in what they can do on and off road. The closest to a Black Diamond Bronco is the Badlands.

Black diamond also has steel front/rear bumpers, rock rails, and heavy duty skid plates

Thank you! That was the big selling point when I ordered mine. It wont fade like the plastic ones. I hate when people forget that point about the bumpers

Not sure if I missed it but did you also point out the Black Diamond trim gets the Accessory Switches vs. the sunglass holder above by the lights? I believe the Big Bend doesn't get that.

Correct again, thanks Adam! Switches are standard on Black Diamond, optional on Big Bend.

The Black Diamond also comes standard with the Rear Locking Differential. I don't believe the Big Bend comes with any locking diffs. ??

Big Bend is more for someone looking for a lifestyle vehicle rather than a rugged off-roader. Black Diamond is a serious entry-level off-roader. I would compare Big Bend to Outer Banks.

I think James should have done a little more homework before doing his video. As many of you all have pointed out he forgot some very important things that the Black Diamond offers. Other than that, a good review.

I would take the Big Bend but with better looking rims and beefier tires. 99% of people getting an offroad truck isn't going to offroad their truck. They're probably like me. I want something that looks cool but will just use it around town or go up to the mountains once in a while. The move would be to get the Big Bend and upgrade the rims and wheels immediately and sell the oem wheel package to offset the cost.
