Well glad to hear good things about your 22 Can Am 850 as in on the 15th of this month I'm picking up my 2023 Can Am Outlander Max XT 850 and its the same color as yours too and I can't wait. Ya have to break it in first but hopefully by spring I'll be ready to giver into friends trails.
Congratulations on your new machine! I really like this machine. It has plenty of power and the longer wheelbase gives a stable ride. The power steering along with the ITC modes are amazing. Have fun! Thank you for your comment.
Thank you for your comment. I will be making a video soon on my light bar at night. I am going to have my dealer install a Rigid D series light on the back bumper in 3 weeks.
BRILLIANT build! I love your accessories, the color and and how usable this atv is. The 850 is in my opinion the perfect engine! Has more than enough power but it isn't overpowered like the 1000. A big thumbs up from me 👍
Thank you. I had the 6x6 1000 and it was not good on gas. What I like best is that on the 850, I have 2x4 mode. On the 6X6 Model I had 4x4 or 6x6 and that made it hard on mpg. I owned it for 3 years and found many uses for it. I find the 850 to be a more suitable machine, I have a small utility trailer that I can tow behind if I need to haul stuff. The 850 is awesome I really like the ITC. I have found work mode to be awesome on yards and Ice fishing. I get good traction without making tire tracks.
I just got the same exact ATV. 2022 Max XT 850 in the blue, and I even bought the same storage box. I had 2 questions. A... does yours have a standard key or the older DESS digital key? B... did the small storage box on the back rack come with it from the factory or did you buy it? C...how hard was it to route and secure the wiring for the light bar?
A. Mine came with one key. A gray key. I purchased a second key (Both keys are set for Performance. B. I had a pervious machine that the small box came on. C. My dealer did the install. my dealer is going to install a second light in 3 weeks. I am going to make a video on both lights at night. I am putting a D series light from Rigid on the rear bumper. When towing my ice fishing gear, I will always have a light on.
I ride on ice and like the idea that I can switch the light filters for higher contrast. If I didn't ride on ice, I would have saved $$$$. That is a great fact and I appreciate your comment. Thank you.
Nice quad! I'm considering a 2-up quad even though I won't be riding much 2-up. I'm thinking of it for better payload and towing. Do these rate higher (spec-wise) than the 1-up peer models?
Beautiful quad! I'm still riding Honda three wheelers but recently I'm seriously considering a brand new 2-up quad and looking at the Polaris Sportsman Touring 1000 and the Can-Am Outlander XT-P 1000. Leaning heavily toward the Can-Am. How do you like the 2-up seat on your Outlander? Operator and passenger comfort good? I'm wanting a big HP 2-up for the wife and I to do all day rides with.
The only problem i have about the 850 it was hot to ride in the summertime. the engine would give off a lot of heat when it came time to ride. other than that excellent machine. The heat was great when it was Fall, and Winter months.
That looks like the expedition front bumper, since the XT doesn't have the light bar mount. Nice bike though. I'm going to get one built here soon. The 850 is the perfect amount of power!
I really like the power of the 850. The 3 different modes of throttle response have been easy on my thumb. It is a lighter feel, less pressure needs to be pressed down to make the machine react. I had the 1000 6x6 it was not as smooth and the being that it always had to be in 4x4 or the other mode 6x6 made it very difficult to make tight turns. I have been very happy with this machine. Thank you for your comment.
They are aluminum, mounted with a rubber shim to make sure the clamp held tight. I found the original price sheet and it says 1.5-inch mount for the Rigid light bar. No brand was listed. Super high quality.
It is hot. When winter driving it feels good to have the heat. In the summer months, I wear a pair of jeans when I ride. The new 700 2 up machines have made a new engine placement where the heat is now not a problem. More heat is directed behind the machine and not on the driver. The 700 from what I gather is a single cylinder machine. It is a great looking machine. All the information I have written about was found out at my local dealer or on the Can Am launch from their RU-vid page.
@@movingngrooving2022 how hot? I really like the 2022’s, I’m not sold on the 2023 single cylinder, seems to me like their going backwards imo!? lol less heat less power!?
The heat generated is hot. I don't wear shorts. I need to shield the heat from my legs. It's all about how a person is going to use the machine. I ride mostly trails that are old railroads converted into trails. When Ice fishing the heat is not a bad thing. It warms the rider. I find riding in the summer months I need to wear pants. I hope this info helps.
I like the 2-cylinder power. It is smooth and gives a large range of torque when towing ice fishing gear. My friend rides a single cylinder Honda and gets better mpg. It should since it uses one less cylinder.
The heat is only bad on one side of the machine. If I remember correctly, it's the right side. I ride with my foot on the outer part of the foot well and that seems to help get my leg away from the heat. I do ride 2 to 3 hours at a time, so my machines engine is running a lot. Most of the time at 30 mph to 35 mph or the posted speed on trails.
I have not had a chance to ride the XTP. I may look into shocks as a possible upgrade. I do have my shocks adjusted for plowing as well as when a second person rides along with me. Thank you for your comment.
