That was me walking by you guys haha. I was early morning elk hunting about a mile further up the mountain and on my way back down to camp. Once I get down that close to camp I usually have blinders on for some breakfast if I'm not also hunting deer. Glad you were successful despite my tromping past 👍 lol. Glad you enjoyed Colorado.
That is too funny! We were half way mad bc at first we thought you had to of seen us and just didn’t care and we were trying to get your attention but obviously it didn’t work 😂 then as you were walking away we started talking more about how we honestly thought you didn’t see us! Too funny! Did you have any luck while you were out there?
Thanks! Appreciate the support! We will only have one more series going up from the 2022 season but there are few others from earlier this hunting season if you want to check those out!
What makes that buck mature? Looks young, maybe older than most bucks spotted but not mature. Low point fourth season tag guarantees pressure and young deer or zero public land.
Thank you! And yes, pick up a pair and you'll never go back. Took us a few seasons before we tried them out because we weren't sure how much they would help either, but we will never go back. They are super nice when you are packing something out! Highly recommended.
Love watching you guys together, great filming and I enjoy the gear you both use. I laughed too, when you walked up then realized the deer was lying right there at your feet. The feeling of relief comes over you that you killed him. I literally hunted hard for a big buck for three days. I new he was there across the canyon. I would catch glimpses of him belly crawling around and getting away form other hunters. I laid and waited for hours. He stood up at 380 yards and I placed the reticle 15 inch above his back, estimated. Pulled the trigger and completely didn't see the shot. I packed up went to where I thought he was. No blood, looked for two hours. Nothing. Almost dark, realized I missed, Wow! I felt sick, so I turned to go back down the hill and over to where I had to hike out. Just as I turned I literally almost tripped over him, weird, how did I miss him, sometimes we look too hard ahead for something that is right at our feet. Great hunting guys.
Depends on if you resident or not and if you wanna hunt rut or not. If resident, I’d wait 7 more yrs and get a 66 3rd season tag. Pre rut. Or you can go get a 67 or 66 2nd I believe if you wanna burn pts now. Both units hold 200” bucks (if you can find them)
Curious does Colorado have a 2nd season mule deer hunt it’s a bucket list of mine to hunt one but we always hunt elk 2nd season was just wondering so I can put in for draw for north west colorado for muley tag and my cow tag
