We got an XC60 for my dad, got the t6 momentum with a few packages, honestly if there were actual dealers I wouldve convinced him to get this, but at the time I had already done enough convincing for the volvo over a q5, and hes a bit of a boomer so the whole no dealer thing is pretty weird. Overall we are very happy with the xc60 aside from the fuel economy its not that good, but in this segment i think GV70 is number one and XC60 is 2. The Q5 just doesnt have enough standard tech in the lower trims it just wasnt the best value and its a super NPC looking car where I live in the GTA.
I just picked up a 2023 gv70 sport prestige... it's absolutely amazing and people everywhere think it's a bentley..Bentley... and it has such amazing features. Best 60k I've ever spent.
Does not being German matter? Yes! My wife owned a BMW for 6 years. The arrogant and expensive dealer ended our interest in German cars. Now I own a GV70 sport prestige.
Unfortunately you are correct, for the most part. Porsche, from my experience is different. I have owned a new BMW, way back and a Mercedes-Benz, 2001 and I did experience the haughty attitude. My wife bought a CPO 2011 911 Carrera S in 2018 and all of my dealer visits have been enjoyable. Most Porches owners are car people, they don't buy them for prestige or status like BMW and Benz owners, My best experience so far though has been at Nally Toyota of Roswell in Roswell Georgia. But, alas, the wife is looking to trade her 4 Runner (2016 w/80,000 miles) or the Porsche for something else a this car, the GV-70 is leading the pack. I hope the dealer experience at Genesis is much better.
I was in the market for an SUV late last year. Test drove the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Volvo CXC40 & XC60, & Acura RDX. I was about to place an order for the X3 when a GV70 drove by me. Had not even considered Genesis, but the car that drove by was stunning. Checked pricing online and a local dealer here in California had the 2.5T going for 42.5k with no markup. Decided to stop by and test drive so I could complete my due diligence and cross Genesis off my list. I was blown away by the vehicle in person. Build quality was superb, ride was smooth and quiet. I found the acceleration and passing power to be excellent. The 300hp was more than enough to fit my needs. After looking at the available packages, I decided I only needed to add the Select package, for the pano roof, heated steering, and ventilated seats. Walked out with a Cardiff green 2.5T select for under $47k. Almost a full year later and it is the best car I have ever owned.
Just picked up one as well 2.5 advanced Silver / brown … I don’t see the need for the 3.5 55k ( Canadian ) it is an absolute beauty. I also have a 2021 G70 … amazing cars.
After few months of use, how would you rate the car?, planing to get one soon, and looking for honest review from the someone who actually used it as daily drive
@@MrScorpionFatal hey! I use it for a daily too! This is by far one of my favorite cars to drive! From the technology to how it drives I have no complaints. I wish it had is wireless Apple play but no big deal. The only thing I wish it had was a little better gas mileage. Other than that I highly recommend and don’t regret the purchase!
You have a very unique way of presenting the vehicles, much different the typical monotone car reviews out there. I can feel that you are extremely passionate of what you do. Keep up the awesome work, LG to 100K.
Loved it so much I bought the 2.5T Prestige in the same white with Blue interior and that one gets the Sports appearance package and the 3 spoke steering wheel. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.
My wife and I just order a GV70 a couple of weeks ago (2.5T Advance Plus), and even though we're now just waiting on delivery, I am still watching all the videos about the car that I can. More importantly, however, as I'm watching the video I start recognizing landmarks that looked _extremely_ familiar to me. Gained a new sub both for quality content and because I will always make an effort to support local!
Just bought a 2.5T Sport Prestige trim in Himalayan Gray for my wife for our anniversary two weeks ago. She LOVES it, it is an awesome machine. Genesis is not playing around, if you're in the market you MUST check it out.
@@cvedwards Thanks for the quick reply, Craig. When you go into the Build option on the Genesis site, it has the HUD listed as included under the 2.5L Advanced Plus. A lot of money to get it on the 3.5L, which I was considering until gas hit $1.50/litre.
No one, not even sales person at a dealership know that the Genesis has a nice feature. If you press and hold the button at the door handel you can close the opened sunroof and all opened windows of the car. Great if kids leave windows open or partially open.
What a presentation! Instant fan of your channel….My wife and I are considering buying either GV 70 or GV 80 just because e of u….Thanks and can not wait until next videos….
Thanks for this excellent review! I’ve been loyal to Audi’s & Lexus’s past 2 decades but I got behind one of these in traffic & was mesmerized! 🌟 It’s gonna be my next car! 🌟
I picked up my GV70 advanced a few days ago. So far its everything I would want in an SUV and more. I loved my last 2 CX9's, but so far this is a step up in a variety of ways. (As well as the dozen or so other SUV's I've owned going back almost 40 years.) A couple of critiques so far I have are: Everything feels quite solid and well built - except for the outside door handles. They feel like they are made of cheap plastic that will snap off with a strong pull. I never thought that with the CX9's or any other vehicle I've owned. Another critique is the oddly unfinished look of the lug nuts. I thought someone at QC must have missed the caps during final assembly and I was going to call the dealer to complain, until I Googled it and see that all of them come like this. I find that oddly inconsistent with the otherwise spectacular fit and finish of most of the rest of the car. Another critique is the extruding piece of the front console closest to the driver door beneath the steering wheel. It comes to a slightly rounded point and juts out about 6". I made the mistake of turning off the automatic easy entry backwards seat slide and banged the hell out of my knee getting in the other night. Lesson learned: Keep the easy entry seat setting on at all times. The last critique is one frequently heard in other reviews regarding the gear selector and the instrument selector being easily confused. I frankly don't understand why they are not reversed. Why constantly reach over the gear selector that you only use once, to get to the instrument selector that you use throughout virtually every drive? And it would be much more comfortable having your hand setting perfectly on the armrest only 3 inches away instead of reaching 10" inches away. I would be curious to know Genesis' thinking on that issue. There must have been some serious deliberation on something so vital to the operation of the vehicle, so they must have a good reason. But I can't figure it out nor have I heard anyone offer an explanation on any of the many reviews I've watched or read. Otherwise, everything good that I've heard in the many reviews of this sporty luxury SUV are also my thoughts. To sum it up, its a very cool vehicle. Bravo to the brains behind the design and development of the GV70 and the entire Genesis concept. I'm trying to talk my wife into changing into a Genesis when the lease ends on her BMW. But she really loves her some BMW. It might take a few more drives in Genesis.
Looks better than the sport version. I like the steering wheel by the way. It looks classy. Don’t know why it’s getting a lot of hate from reviewers. I like the 2.5 better. Might get one next month.
Your videos are high quality. Majority of car reviewers lack the talent you have. Your movements and dialog are natural and fun. The majority of car reviewers lack your artistic and camera talent. Definitely subscribed and I have no doubt that you will reach 100k mark soon.
I jist subscribed to your channel and am do happy I did. I shared this video along with a few others you've published. This channel is by far the best visual, descriptive, professional comparative reviews that I've ever watched since looking into purchasing a new vehicle. Even the background music is top tier. Because of this channel I have gone down from 5 cars to now 2: The reveiw on the red Genesis GV70 3.5 or this white Genesis GV70 2.5T. This review just sold me. If I could give you commission I would. 😁 Great reviews! I'm telling everyone to dubscribe to this channel. 😊
Love the elegant simplicity of the GV70. Great review, I did subscribe 😉. I read they are working on an EV. Never thought I’d l leave my Lexus RX in the rear view mirror; however, Lexus has become too complacent & comfortable with charging outrageous prices. GV70 is a stunner❣️
A few days ago I called a few dealers in my area they all have a 4 to 5 thousands markup on the spots prestige. I refuse to pay any extra for any vehicle I will wait hopefully things go back to normal soon.
I can't believe you have less than 100k subs guys. Just stumbled on your channel. It's definitely very high quality. Great review too. Well you're 1 sub closer to your goal👍
Almost 100k! Gotta support another Canadian high quality auto content creator!

I'm getting the 2.5 standard when I get back in town. Hopefully the dealer keep their promise and don't sell it to someone while I'm away. I'm excited but it's been stressful searching for a dealer that have them in stock. 😅
Why wouldnt you give them a deposit to hold the vehicle?

@@billm1651 I needed a new car asap and I was calling several dealerships to see when they would have one in before the 2022 markup. The dealer wasn't sure it'll arrive in time but it did and I'm really happy with my car. 😊
I’m asking for my deposit back in the Tiguan coming in and putting a deposit on the 2023 GV70. I’m looking at the select package. Besides the surround camera and leather, what else is missing by getting the select? I understand they are adding the heated steering wheel to the select package. For the record, I told the sales guy today that the steering wheel looks like it came from a 1996 Buick LeSabre.
13:18 This DJ, he gets down, mixing records while he go round, to the Hip to the Hop you just don't stop, producing funky tracks till it makes you drop.
Hey you doing a great job. I would love to see this compared to the GLC with points awarded to see which wins. would be interesting to know how it actually compares with the German competition. PS: i think your channel has the best done review videos on youtube in Canada.
My mom just upgraded from a 2019 glc to a gv70 select. I can confidently say there is nothing the glc had over the gv70. If you’re thinking about it, go for it!
Wife has Sport Prestige in white. Awesome vehicle for fair price. Oh and she loves it which is great because maybe she will keep this one for a while. Oh and doesn’t matter that not German. She saw another one like her’s the other day and got upset because for past few months she was only one. I told her she knew it had to happen.
I came back to watch this a year later now that I have a GV70 2.5T Sport Prestige and I think this review is very accurate! I didn't like the 3.5 because of the harsh ride but the 19" wheels on the 2.5T (in Canada) absorb all of the harshness, even without the "road preview" feature for the active dampers on the 3.5T. It is also a bit quieter, which is what I was looking for. I really like the Lexus RX and was leaning that way but the 2.5T has everything that has but with better technology - the screen and the camera quality is so much better, even better than the 2023 RX that I waited for to see how it compared. And the Genesis is a good $10K less than the RX F-sport. People keep complaining about the lack of wireless CarPlay/AA but a $100 adapter fixes that very easily. Mechanically, a lot of these vehicles are having rear differential issues and I had to have mine replaced almost immediately. Also had steering rack, water pump and throttle body issues in the first year. I think I probably have more issues than average but the service here where I live is great - they always come and pick up my car and leave me a brand new loaner - I've had a GV80, G80, G70 and an identical GV70 so far...the G80 only had 50 KM on it! They know exactly what to order, how to fix and I never have the issue again once it's fixed. I have about 18,000 KM on it now and it has primarily been quiet, smooth, comfortable cruising on my daily 100 KM commute. Exactly what I was looking for. I'm hoping all the bugs have been worked out now - no issues for quite a while now. I would still say it's a great vehicle at a competitive price.
The differential, the steering rack, the water pump and the throttle body in the first year. Dang, I would have traded it right away. I am not so sure I want one now. My 2016 4Runner has 80,000 with problems.
I've been driving the Lexus RX, Acura RDX, MDX and now the GV70 3.5T. I found the Genesis 3.5 to be too harsh on bumps...performance tuned, sure but I'm looking for more comfort than performance...like the RX. However, the RX tech and price are terrible in comparison. Just wondering if you think the 2.5 is more comfortable...does it get closer to a Lexus?
Really enjoyed this review!! Just got a 2.5 prestige and really enjoying it. But making sure I didn’t make a huge mistake by not getting the 3.5 lol (even tho the prestige in that motor is too expensive).
Good luck finding it at $42k! The market is chaotic right now. Also, the features list can vary quite significantly based on if its the US vs CA or other international model. It's been hard to find a US version reviewed with in-depth features displayed.
It comes with the select package. Total cost is typically at $49,800 and change. You can bring it down to $46,000 if you reach the right dealer and negotiate properly. Other dealers will still do major addons and sell it to you at $53,000.
Grew up in a Mercedes family. We had a 1998 Mercedes C220, 1999 ML-320, 2001 E-320, 2002 ML-320 (had the two ML-320s for a 2 years at the same time), then a 2004 S-500 4-Matic, in 2015 I bought my first car a 2005 Volvo S40 T5, then had 2013 Nissan Sentra because the Volvo didn't want to car, but my senior year of college I bought a 2015 BMW 428i xDrive, My Mom (our family's resident gearhead before me), and that BMW re-ignited my Mom's gearhead routes. Since then I've traded the BMW for a 2018 A5 Sportback, my Mom had a Jeep Cherokee and just placed an order for a 2022 GV70, and I'm looking to place an order for a Maserati Grecale (Or a Macan, I want a Macan S, but having just moved to Boston, a 7 sec 0-60 isn't that important anymore, I really like how my A5's blinker works - because i spend enough time in traffic to appreciate it lol, but I do want something quick, having not had a sub 5 or 4 second 0-60 daily in almost 7 years now(?)) - I'll have to drive my Mom's GV70 when she gets it to make a final verdict, but I'm excited, and hopeful that it'll shock me as much as she shocked me when she told me she spec'd one out to almost the same trim as this tester's and actually placed an order for one too
I think the cx5 is a really good value for the money. But this is just another level of luxury, premium look and feel and uniqueness. Its also considerably more expensive. I like the mazda a lot and its really nice looking both inside and out but I see like 100 of them on the road every day. The gv70 is just so different and less common which is why I'm leaning that way! ( and better tech imo)
Is this the green interior? When you go over the rear seats I would swear it was, but then up front I couldn’t tell if it was a black/gray or really subtle green.
Waiting my gv70 gray/black interior for one more month. . It is realy flying from the truck load. Can't wait. At least I am paying without market adjustment which is 5k more than msrp.
Your channel just stands out from all the rest! Are the doors as solid as a GLC? So do the rear still have the quad indicator lights like the V6 variant? Thank you :)
Actually where I live, there aren't stand alone genesis dealers, they are housed in hyundai dealers and they don't know from or provide picking up the car at your home.
Omg…the 2.5 sounds might be the ticket! The steering looks so responsive. Zip around! My 2010 3.8 Hyundai Genesis is still drives like a dream but I would love a new interior. 😃
Dave, I thought the same. I went to see one in person, and it was an Advanced 2.5 and where the back seat Climate Control is, it's just a small plastic shelf. The only place it seems to be offered is on the Top of the Line 3.5. So, perhaps this is not true in Canada or elsewhere but in the US, it doesn't seem to be offered. Could have something to do with a lack of Chips too but that's just a guess
I too am fed up with BMW dealers. The quality and high cost of their vehicles is one thing but the arrogance and unhelpful attitude of the dealers is simply horrendous. We have left the Germans and are currently enjoying an Acura but we will definately look at Genesis when our lease ends.
