My favorite was Mateusz. He got better round after round. Extremely musical playing, many colors, lots of dynamics, really lets me dive into his music.
Kowalski’s performance of Barrios’ much neglected tremolo masterpiece Contemplación was absolutely GORGEOUS - he should have placed first on that performance alone.
Marko is a great musician who goes far beyond guitar music. He's great. I think he is tired of coming to the GFA, but I still dream of hearing him in the competition program and seeing him triumph. Now he was worthy of the first place more than anyone else. Bravo!
I'm often see Marko in many competition, also GFA for many times, always have fun to saw him played Toccata (Rodrigo) I want him to win this competition someday
Lovro is absolutely the best! He is amazingly talented, he has a killer tone, extraordinary technique, precision, and most important - he is really musical and intuitivne. Bravo👏👏👏
Good to see the Henze being played. Bream decided not to record the second sonata; for my money it's actually better than the first. What a superb bunch of players. The future of the guitar is in safe hands.
@@Nadezhda-guitar I just watched. I liked them all, but I think I would vote for Mateusz Kowalski. Actually, I don't like the modern repertoire that much.
Modern classical guitar music is too non-rhythmic for me. It is too harsh on my ears. The modern classical guitar music composers try to be too eccentric and different with their music.
I can understand what you are saying, but It really depends on the composer...modern music is a really vast container, where you can find pure beauty. The main problem is that It is submerged by lot of rubbish, so it's not easy to find the good ones🙃
