I just purchased the yellow one this week. I was able to get one at MSRP. I traded a 2020 RG limited which I did in fact put an additional 6k into. This is my second CVO, so I got drunk twice in my life. I look to the trade in value and the uniqueness. I got no extra $$ on the accessories I installed. I pick it up Friday. Stop apologizing, great review - thank you.

I have a 2011 1/2 CVO Ultra that I bought brand new and I'm still in love with it. Best vehicular investment I ever made along with my Corvette. I previously had a regular 2008 Ultra and I bought every single bolt on item Harley made for it and it still didn't look or perform anywhere near the CVO. My bike still gets attention and thumbs-up riding down Daytona's Main Street during Bike Week.

The chrome controls with black buttons is a classic CVO item. The buttons are illuminated. They are very noticeable at night. The buttons on the faring are illuminated also. Chrome buttons have black symbols. I guess it is difficult to illuminated the black. Symbols.

I was disappointed I didn't have the CVO option, I spent another 10k on my RG Limited. I still have a 114-stage 2 with V & H Headers. Added WHIM, LED lights, AC/heated seat, premium floor boards, only 1 fob, still do not have lights in trunk. So fun of doing upgrades cost a little more, but it is personalized.

I have a bright orange one with LEDs all around and it doesn't matter to most cagers who have their head into their smartphones. I lit my backend up with Custom Dynamics lights and Magic Strobe. That has been a great investment and catches the attention of people behind you.

@Boomer Biker nailed it! That's your jam, dude - you're a straight shooter whose delivery is more like a friend as opposed to a salesman. Ironic, since you once did H-D sales lol; yet I think you give it to us straight BECAUSE you no longer have to toe the party line and kowtow to Corporate. I'm a subscriber for that reason: your honesty and thoroughness are spot-on; you give us the good, the bad, the ugly, and the meh. Thanks for always making such great content.

Great video. I tried for years to get Harley to make a CVO trike finally broke down in 2016 and bought a Triglide special and I probably dropped another $20,000 in it setting her up my way and I’m looking to put that much more into it later. But the thing is two years later they came out with a CVO model. Maybe someday I’ll break down and purchase one but right now I love my ride. Thanks for doing such a great job on the honesty.

Great review Blair. My only gripe with this model, as with most Harley models, for the price you pay, especially for CVO, they still use those dull steel engine bolts and the really cheap 25cent Walmart exhaust shield hose clamps. Also have to agree with you on the dull looking front brake rotors, they'll look real sweet when they start to rust.

15:55 funny you mention outdoors storage. I have a CVO bike cover that I was given, and I keep my BMW R1200GS parked out in my back patio under that CVO cover, in AZ. It sits out there all year, on a battery tender. Bike starts up every time and no issues. I have 11 other motorcycles which I keep in the garage. But they GS is an outdoors bike and I use it 90% of the time off road in very harsh conditions. So it is used to it.

I still think that the 2020 CVO Road Glide in Sand Dune is the best looking bike HD ever made. The paint made it stand out, but not in a loud way. It was classy. The bags were deeper and had the cutouts for the pipes. If I’m ever in the market for a CVO I’ll search one of those out.

Great review Blair. I would have to win the lottery to justify $48k for a motorcycle. If I could by a CVO, ST or Special then I would be happy with it as-is. A Limited or Electra Glide Standard I would modify/personalize probably.

Nice, fair review and good comparison (cost wise). I struggled with the exact thoughts last year when I pulled the on my CVO (which I do not regret). Thank you. The color schematic is incredible; the front fender is out of control. Nice touch that they added the highway pegs, lowers, heated seat. I agree, the normal seats usually are bad, though not as bad as the piss poor suspension system. Love the back lights upgrade. By the way, the videos / photos never do the HD colors justice; it looks different images, indoors and in the sun.

While I am a big fan of the paint schemes on the CVO models, to me the price doesn't make any sense when you can buy a Street Glide or Road Glide and upgrade the suspension, brakes, motor and so on for less money. That being said, the CVO models are perfect for someone that wants to buy a bike that already has all the bells and whistles offered from the manufacturer aftermarket. A buddy/neighbor of mine has a CVO Dyna Fatbob and the paint job is next level beautiful, and it bums me out that they don't offer the Dyna and Softails in CVO anymore. Hell, I bet if they did CVO models of the Sportster that even they would sell. Who knows, maybe we will see some CVO softails in the future, and with the new bikes being released there is for sure potential for a CVO Sportster S, Pan America, Nightster and so on!
@pd6569
@pd6569 2 года назад
@@jonnymac8925 Jonny Mac. To your first point, it is next to impossible for anyone to justify blowing that amount of money on a CVO. To me however, the bike with all it is equipped with (including the beautiful paint job) grabbed me and I simply wanted it. I wanted nothing else. Internally, I struggled with the fact that I was spending an absurd amount of money on a bike (More than I paid for all the bikes I rode in my career of writing). Worse, was the knowledge that I could’ve bought a street glide and a road glide for the price I paid for the CVO. But ultimately, that’s not what I wanted. To your second point, you hit the nail on the head again. I wanted the bike equipped with all the items already so that I can see the finished product as is. I accept there is a premium to be paid for this, and the only potential justification I can offer is that on resale, I think the CVO will fare better than a standard model that is built up to approximate a CVO level. To contradict myself however, I upgraded my suspension and put a king tour pack on in addition to a few other small items. But Just like when a used car is sold, most (including dealerships) look at the value of the make model and year and go from there (And trivialize for the aftermarket additions). For those that purchase a standard model, and have the vision and possibly mechanical capabilities to upgrade their bike, they will truly have a unique one-of-a-kind ride. When I see bikes like this on the road, I appreciate the rider/operators artistic creativity….something I surely lack. Be and ride safe and thanks for the feedback.

There's 1 thing I CANT UNDERSTAND, the RGST has a higher seat heigh, higher ground clearance, but max learn angle of 31 degrees, but the RG CVO has a much lower seat height and ground clearance, but an improved lean angle of 34 degrees? I don't understand 😭😭

I just bought a 22 SGS in Gunship gray over a CVO SG in Steel Blue. My dealer said," congratulations, you just save $13k,." Living in Pa I didn't think it was worth spending the extra cash plus getting a stage 2 on top of that which I ususally like to do. Yeah the CVO is extremely nice. Just spending $42k and adding on other performance parts of $5k or more didn't feel like it was worth it to me. Now I have added $5k worth of extras on my 30k bike. This is no way cheap but I guess is all in what ya want.

I definitely like the idea of personalization. I'm not the proverbial "Chrome Whore", and prefer the more Blacked out look. But I definitely would have wanted stretched bags as well as mini-apes and a custom type seat. But that's what makes personalization more fun, you do it YOUR way. The Color is trick, but alas, if you want stretched bags ($1400) how much more to have them color matched, if it could even be done. I think we all go with what we like, and MAKE it what we want, but you can't order a 117 in a Special.

So it’s been a long time since I’ve done it but you’d but the quick detach hardware from Harley (I am blanking on the cost). Add the hardware to the bike and the tour Pak and you’re good to go. The wires just unplug at the connector and I think we used to stick the pigtail under the seat. Overall it’s not too bad to do, price may be another thing. Then again if you’re looking at a 50k bike it may not be as big of a deal to you. Haha

Beautiful bike however id never spend $48K on a CVO. For the same price you can buy a pre owned special for $20K and stage out the 114 engine with more torque/hp around 135 much better than CVO: $6K add handlebars $500, seat $500, wheels $4000, better audio you can actually hear on the hwy $2500 and have a CVO killa for $5K thousand cheaper.

The fact that people buy CVO bikes blows my mind. They can buy a cheaper model and do far more performance, asthetic, suspension, brake upgrades and still spend less than the price of the CVO. The paint schemes is the only thing that really separates a CVO from a bike that was built. To me, I would take the 883, the Pan America and a Street Glide over 1 CVO, every.....single.....day.

48,000 for a bike that will break your heart! Will look good on the tow truck.

I think your vids are very good and in most cases just as good or better than Matts. If you want to be as popular as Matt you got to start your videos with your name and end with your name. So what is your name lol

Why would you pay that for a 2 seater car? The bike will maintain it’s value than a car would.
