2022 Home Run Derby Full Game Highlights (Juan Soto, Julio Rodríguez and Albert Pujols show out!) 

Man it’s such an insane advantage to go second in your grouping. J-Rod going first twice in a row and hitting 64 home runs ends up counting for nothing. Wish it was a cumulative score across all rounds.

Soto won the trophy, but Jrod won the Derby Both are insanely good, congrats to them 🎉

Derbys will never be the same without the “back back back back back GONE”

They need to get rid of the "waiting for the ball to land to throw the next pitch" rule. Both pitchers for Seager and Alonso were the only ones who somewhat followed it, the other guys were just rapid firing it in there. Just get rid of it completely.

J Rod better be invited to the home run derby again. (obviously if he decided she wants to do it) With the ASG 2023 in Seattle, I think he’s gonna show out

With the performance that Julio showed last night, he’ll be coming back next year without a doubt. Especially when next year’s all star break will be in Seattle as well

I realize I'm probably in the minority here, but I miss the 10 out format. You had more time to focus and appreciate the homeruns that were launched.

They should follow the rules for once. Pitches are thrown way to quickly. Rules state they can be thrown after ball LANDS. Them not following the rules makes it way harder to follow, even the announcers couldn't keep up.

This is the first derby I ever saw. IMHO, having different pitchers ruins the whole competition, because the pitchers have a tremendous impact on the hitters. Rodriguez is obviously extremely impressive, esp. for a rookie, but his pitcher was lightyears better than all the others. Not only did he throw pitch after pitch into the sweet spot for HR's, but every pitch was looped, with a downward trajectory as it crossed home plate, so that JR could swing up on every pitch and the ball would have to be a fly ball. He also threw like clockwork, so JR could time his swings perfectly. By contrast, Alonso's was all over the place. Likewise, Cory Seager's father took 5 seconds bet. each pitch and rarely threw them up and in, so that he could swing for the short RF fence.

The time is a good system but the head to head matchups are not. Your bracket and whether or not you're first or second plays a huge roll. Julio way outperformed Soto, but because of the factors I mentioned, Soto won.

Everyone wanted Albert Pujols to win it... but that wasn't exactly realistic at his age. Even so, he gave the young guys a bit of a run for their money.

WHY did Rodriguez go second against Alonso? He hit more home runs in the first round... The rules I saw said batting order after the first round is determined by how many HRs hit the previous round. Same in the last round where he had 30 to Soto's 17. They just went by seeding I guess, which is some cheap nonsense
