Did you have to thread into the carburetor for that skid plate?

I’m no expert but I just picked up a fresh 22 crf110 for my daughter and ordered a bunch of upgraded parts starting with the enm 250lb shock along with bbr damping rods, Is it necessary to also change out the fork springs if it’s more for a 75lb kid than an adult bike? Or am I doing to much? She does ride mostly track. She’s also on a kx85.
