Thanks for this! We're picking up our Palisade Ultimate Calligraphy in the middle of May and I've been binge watching content on it. Your video is one of the most in-depth ones out there.
You're welcome glad you found it helpful! Exciting about the new ride, you're going to love that Ultimate Calligraphy - pretty loaded up. I have some videos on the media screen, steering wheel and cluster that are pretty crazy in depth hah. Enjoy!
@@CarsWithSteve appreciate all that! I've watched them all! I'm a fellow RU-vidr living just up the 401 in Trenton. If you ever want to review a 2021 Tesla Model 3 Performance, hit me up 😉
@@KarmaStoriesPodcast Just checked out your channel, crazy growth you've had as well! I may have to take you up on that one, haven't started shooting Tesla yet but this would probably be a great start. I'll reach out on your profile email!
You did a fantastic job on your review! I bought a 2021 Caligraphy trim level in Feb and LOVE it. Your review was the best I have seen so far and I have been watching them for a year. I need to go press that button so I can take my foot off the break at times! I had no idea what it was for. Also, the lights that come on at night inside the vehicle are amazing. I feel like I am in a very fancy vehicle. To those contemplating buying a Palisade-you will love it!!
Just purchased an SEL Premium AWD and it's an amazing car. The review was spot on, The only option we did not get was the ventilated seats and the display in the dash when using the turn signal. Would have liked that but availability can be a challenge in today's market. Overall super happy with our choice.
Thanks for the owner feedback Dale, good to hear that you’re liking yours! The car market is still pretty wild but hopefully this mess gets sorted out by next year
A surprising thing for me was that for my 2 wheel drive in comfort mode with two people inside a 90 miles drive from Miami to Naples Estates (Florida) on US41/FL29 with an average speed of 60mph I got a 33mpg fuel consumption. For Canadians that is a (about) 150km drive with an average speed of 100km/h I got 7.13l/100 km. US41 is relatively free so this is not your regular drive but still the fuel economy was impressive for such a big engine. Another thing that surprised me is the excellent visibility from inside. My previous car was a Murano (Nissan) and the visibility inside the Palisade is much better. It is a bigger car, granted, so I may be comparing apples and oranges, but it is still worth mentioning. The only thing I liked less was the lack of right hand support for the driver, I am used to having one and I miss it. I guess it is a matter of getting used to the absence but for now it bothers me.
Appreciate that real world feedback on the vehicle and fuel consumption, it's always nice to hear what people are getting vs EPA claims. Sounds like you've had a pretty good experience with yours so far!
I have one. Limited only i just have wish the "tablet" looking thing would tilt for driver and for passenger passenger could help navigate better and if alone the driver could see it better w/o the glare. Those rear shades are cool too. And mine doesn't have trunk opener nor the back screen. chairs lay forward with pull of straps no buttons Ty for sharing 😊
Very thorough and an excellent review here Steve!!! Exceptional job here. You are very very good. Job well done here. Great vehicle too. I really like this one.
Great review. Purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD: but there are some areas for improvement: add power folding exterior side mirrors, add sunglass holder in interior and add illumination for the overhead light buttons and those rims on calligraphy trim are a bit 'loud', design something more classy; and last but not least, consider adding hybrid powertrain as is offered on many other Hyundai products.
Thamls SJ! I can see the hybrid coming out at some point in the future for it - if it doesn't go full EV first. Hoping that Hyundai reads these comments to hear what owners want in their cars!
That really bothers me about my Palisade is that the over head buttons don’t light up come on Hyundai how are we supposed to see those buttons in the dark how they missed that I have no idea.
This video is for the 2022 model! It's tougher to come across models that are a year or two old. It's either a current owner and I meeting up for me to review or waiting until a local dealer has one
Ohh that's a tough call. They share the same engine, tech and general feature set... I love the look of blackout packages so based on availability in Canada the Kia Telluride Nightsky would have the edge
Shop by price for the desired set of features, if you have a choice. In the US (Florida) the Telluride is selling at a premium for similar features so for me the choice was simple.
Massage seats would be nice, but may affect the price point. Was is disappointing is the lack of wireless Apple Car Play at the higher trims, no power folding side mirrors, and no fog lights.
Exactly my thoughts on the massage seats. Hopping into the higher trim Hyundai cars it's a bit odd not having wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. But at the same time it's not a huge hassle having to plug in, especially with all the powerpoints it has Definitely a few parts cut but for the price point it's hard to beat. Is this one on the list of potentials or are you in one already?
I’ve wanted one since they were first announced. But, there is nothing wrong with my 2013 Honda Pilot, so it’s hard to justify the expense of a new vehicle.
For 2023 Calligraphy trim, the Palisade has several new interior features: massage feature for driver seats (it's called ergo motion, I think), wings on captain chair's head-rest that can fold like airplane head-rest, digital rear mirror, heated third-row, new steering wheel, faster wireless charger, etc. Not sure how much the price will increase, though.
@@CarsWithSteve thanks Steve... and also maybe a comparison with telluride and palisade.. it's better to see a Canadian comparison because we're based here. Thanks again
Can you please say honestly how Hyundai Palisade v6 gdi engine is? Is this very good quality v6 engine? Will this engine run 500k to 600k km? I want to know because I have a confusion to choose from Hyundai Palisade V6, Volkswagen Atlas sel V6, and Honda Pilot Elite V6, please give me the right information because I want to choose a V6 car which will run perfectly 500k to 600k km without any big issues
It's going to be tricky to find a Palisade with 500k - 600k km because it was released for the 2020 model. There are some on Cargurus with 50,000 miles and AutoTrader with 100,000 km at most. Having said that there doesn't seem to be many complaints about the Palisade engine. Either way you'd be covered by the Hyundai warranty with the option of extending it for added peace of mind
@@RishmeSheriff Very true. Hopefully they eventually open up the highest trim to some of the other options. When manufacturers get enough feedback things can happen!
they need to change, no wireless androidauto with top trim, no power folding mirror extérior and that little mirror instead of the sun glasses holder that suck, the rest really good
Agree with you there, the screen tech should at least be the same across the lineup. Have you picked up a Palisade already or on the list for a next ride?
All my vehicles in the past 20 years have had the sunglasses holder on the ceiling. I find that the glasses would get really hot during Summer when they're put up there. I use the storage because it's there but I'd rather hide my sunglasses somewhere else in the car.
You'd really only need to worry about the Normal and Snow modes if you do just regular day to day driving. Sport is for a more aggressive feel while Eco maximizes fuel economy. So it's really a question of what do you need out of the car
The one very bad flaw that I have found in my 21 Palisade are the windshield wipers.in our northern climate. When the snow and ice melt on the windshield the water runs down and freezes the wipers. It does not thaw when the car is running. You have to lift the hood and chip the ice.you also cannot extend the wipers away from the windshield to keep them from freezing without lifting the hood.Very dangerous when driving and if they don't work.
The water rundown and freeze would happen on most vehicles but a heated windshield wiper could take care of some of that. I didn’t realize the wipers wouldn’t extend properly.. will have to take a look at that next time I’m in one
From inside, if you push the wiper lever all the way up (as if you want to wipe the water quickly) and hold the the lever up (don't release it), the front wipers will stay up half-way on the windshield - I believe this is called service mode which is a position designed to change the blades. You can then lift up the blades and clean the windshield as normal. You just have to remember doing this before the snow comes, like some people lift up the wipers to get ready for a snow fall. Hope that helps.
