Hey all! Just wanted to give a quick update. I have 5,000 miles on my Chief Bobber so far. I know…those are rookie numbers LOL. But this bike has been awesome. This is everything I ever wanted out of a cruiser. The bike handles great, it sounds good, rides and shifts smoothly. Everything about it is a 10/10 for me.
Here is what I’ve added so far:
Indian Motorcycle Tall Bars
Indian Floorboards
Indian slip on Mufflers
BAJA Designs S2PRO Combo LEDs
Indian Engine Guards
Burly Brand Handlebar Bag
Burly Brand Throwover Saddlebags
Saddlemen Step Up seat with matching passenger backrest pad
Indian quick release backrest
Hartluck grips

I got the Indian pathfinder lights on mine. They are a duel setup one on either side of main headlight and they are super bright with an extremely wide illumination. I went the same route as you. I mad mine a "Super Chief Bobber darkhorse" with a 116. The only thing I am lacking is the floorboards. I have everything else the super chief has but I have the pathfinder lights added on.

So basically you made it a super chief lol…I picked up a 22’ 111 chief (abs) last week I actually found it for a great price at a Harley dealership already had the freedom exhaust

Really nice bike- I just got one near identical- coming from a loud raucous scout 60, this bike is something else- good power and fits my 6’3 frame much better (think a little bit bear on a tricycle on the scout). I also like the stock pipes sound, it’s not too much but enough grunt- I may put on a performance air cleaner but for now it is a beautiful bike, Indian really did a good job on the design

Nice ride, I got the new sport chief and have done 7K in 6 month so far no issues, but i do notice a lot of Vibration on the 116 right around 2500-3K Rpm, glad the 111 is smoother powerplant.

Thanks boss! Same to you; the Sport Chief is awesome! Great choice. Do you have stock exhaust setup and so on?

@@benattwiggcycles Modified stock exhaust shorten with the baffles from the Radiant GP Shorties to help with the back pressure.

@@JSMotorbiking-mo8tb Nice! I can't imagine that would have anything to do with the vibration you're noticing. Just mention it do your dealer next time you take it back to them. It could be a common thing on those. I'll have to take a spin on one of the 116's I have here at the dealership and see if I notice it as well.

@@benattwiggcycles No everyone with the 116 has it, is a characteristic of that engine, even with the factory exhaust that vibration was there.

Nice bike, seen it at Twigg a few times. I am waiting on the fairing and mount to come in for the 22 Chief DH and I'll get the floorboards next.

Your bike looks awesome. I have a 2023 Indian Super Chief Limited, very happy, only 2,000 Kms so far. Thinking of a stage 2 kit and Saddleman seat.

Just stumbled across your vid. Interesting detail. Like me you changed the look of the triangles underneath the seat to matt (black). Is that done with foil or paint? I did it bc it fits more with the rest of my CDH in matt black. Small things... 😏

I have the same bike, I have been considering putting a handlebar riser and a windshield on much like yours. Did you have trouble removing the 10 screws that hold on the cover around the triple tree? I have had a major issue with this and still have not been successful in removing all of them.

Hey Ben! Super sick bike. I’m looking into getting a bobber dark horse as a first bike. I’m completely new to riding, but do you think if I invested in some crash bars I should be fine, as well as if I dedicate tons of time to practicing? Love what you said in your other vid about not using this bike to show off, but merely just an extension of who I am as a person. You should also do some ride alongs!! I’d watch it
@benattwiggcycles
@benattwiggcycles Год назад
Hey man! Thank you so much for the message! Definitely snag some crash bars if you can. There's a TON of options for these bikes. Lawless Garage, Dean Speeds, Indian OEM all have some great crash bars. And yes definitely get some parking lot practice in if you can somewhere safe. You know,,I've been thinking of doing some ride-along videos. I might have to look into that!

Thanks for the great review. I have a 2023 Chief ABS 111 on order. I want to add the 6 inch Chief risers. The Indian installation guide says the 6 inch risers do not require a new wiring harness, but specifies switching to the stock Sport Chief handlebars. I don't see any reason I can't just use the stock Chief handlebar already on the bike. Do you see any reason why I would need to change the handlebars to add the 6 inch risers? The bend is almost the same? Thanks

I have the short indian windshied and it does very little at highway speeds. Can you give me your honest opinion your tall windshied? I I'm planning on some highway miles with my wife on my Chief Bobber DH and want to know if that taller shield makes a big difference. I get too beat up from the wind on the highway.
@benattwiggcycles
@benattwiggcycles 5 месяцев назад
Hey there! The taller shield makes a huge difference. I made a 900 mile over-night trip which was probably 60% interstate riding and I didn't get fatigued whatsoever. The windshield also took a lot of the wind resistance off of me. I do also recommend checking out Freedom Shields as well. Since taking this video, I've actually sold the tall windshield and went to a slightly shorter, flared, windshield from Freedom Shields.

Hi there, I am thinking about getting a Chief. There's two in my area for sale the chief bobber no abs and the Super chief with abs. Now I really like the idea of having abs. But in your opinion or anyone else's is it necessary?
@benattwiggcycles
@benattwiggcycles 9 месяцев назад
Hey there! Thank you for your comment. So I think it’s always important to note, ABS is a safety feature and benefit. That is a feature that riders can benefit from in the scenario of a possible panic stop to help prevent locking up the brakes. You’ll hear different stories from different riders. Some, possibly, more experienced riders will say they don’t like having it, and others will say they simply won’t own a bike with out ABS. From my experience, typically more experienced riders don’t like having ABS kick in. Then again they are more experienced and they know when and how proper braking is used and have possibly taken various riding courses. On the other hand, just about everyone I know who owns a motorcycle 600+lbs and up, prefer ABS because the bike is much heavier therefor it requires more braking to stop the bike. Also on that note, because the bike weights more, the bike is more prone to locking up the brakes. To directly answer your question, it’s up to you. I do not like ABS but then again, I’ve taken various safety courses and 13 years riding experience. But I’m certainly not perfect lol.

Is the back seat comfortable?
@benattwiggcycles

My Wife never mentioned the backrest being uncomfortable unless we were on for over an hour. I actually just switched out to a Mustang Tour Seat a week ago and really like it. Definitely cushier and also features a rider backrest which I use on long rides.
