I have a 21 harley slim that I had dean speed slip ons as my first pipe mod. And they were good sounding mufflers, loud as hell under load, at idle they have that low rumble. Called them the cherry bombs. Now I converted the slim to a full hard bag bagger with freedom true dual no crossover under the bags.
I have gone on all the same rides with the Chief as I did with the scout. Zero back pain with the Chief. Much better shocks and the seat is far better than the scouts.
So I know that some people are going to disagree with me but the only two things that I don't really like about the Indian chief Barber is suspension and the exhaust I don't like how they exhaust look I prefer the Vans and highs on the Indian scout bobber but on the Indian Chief and I would like to have the piggyback shocks from the scout bobber on the chief
Everything is lower maintenance than Harley, but there is no other bike that has that long loping gallop of Harley. I used to work at Hempstead Harley NY. I don't own one, I'm into speed, control, and inline fours. But I got to ride every type of Harley everyday. And then there was everyday pushing out bikes from inside, you can't push a fully dressed Harley...at least I couldn't. So I got to ride, there's nothing on earth to compare it to. If you haven't, I suggest you try it. A Harley is a different breed of bike.
Can't we have decent pipes straight from the factory? Left side beautiful, right side your eye is immediately drawn to all that pipe. Just make it like aftermarket. It's not going to stop people from buying aftermarket.
