I did install the same ones today and your video helped me a lot. Thank you very much!! I don't really understand how those six bolts are actually holding the weight.
It’s the same concept as a rivet but on a larger scale using bolts which causes a bulge on the inside of the frame. The only way it would come out is if there is enough force to bend the metal of either the frame or the rivet part of the rivnut.
Hello, Side steps look great. Question though, are those oem mud flaps? I’m asking because I have them for my vehicle and I’m interested in getting the side steps put on. But when I go to order them, it states that their not compatible with the front splash guards.
I did swap out the front grille. There wasn’t any instruction on that so it was a bit confusing where the clips are that need to be removed. I didn’t use any tools other than a flathead screwdriver.
@@andrestorrebiarte3131 my model does not have the camera, however, with all of the other electronics, it was all just quick clips that can be removed quickly so I would assume the camera would be the same.
What size thickness and length were your bolts? I ordered running boards exactly like yours from eBay motors and I received bolts that were M10 x 30mm and they’re not going into the hexagonal shaped holes very easily.
You need 14 M8 bolts and 12 M8 nuts to complete the job. The install instructions can be found on Amazon by searching for 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L side step and then clicking on the side step. Then scroll down to the product description and there will be a downloadable pdf for the instructions and parts you need.
Yes you will need the Rivnut tool. It is in the description and can be bought on Amazon. Special trick when using it, dip it in a bucket that has water with a little dawn dish soap. It will keep the tool cool or else there will be a lot of friction and the tool gets really hot after 2 rivnuts. It also allows easier turning of the Rivnut.
It also helps to have another person hold the wrench on the unthreaded nut to keep it steady and then torque the bolt with the rivnut on it into the hexagonal openings mentioned in the video. There are 7 per side, located where all the bigger bolts on the underside brackets are. One is by the middle of the back door in the door opening
@@samuellopez9892 I can’t send photos on RU-vid but just take a look at where the innermost part of the mud flap touches the tire liner and cut half an inch on either side and about an inch deep.
Here's a step by step video for installing OEM Mopar running boards on a 2022 Grand Cherokee L. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SvIP3sZs698.html

Are those side skirts that you took off painted to match? I am taking our running boards off because we don't like them. Would you be willing to sell those?
@@joerolfes4537 are they in good shape? Scratches, dings, etc? Do you have all the snap rivets that are needed for it? How much would you want for them? With that being said, anyone who reads this I have some practically brand new factory running boards of anyone wants to shave a few dollars on a set.
@@danielcomeaux7480 They are mint. No scratches or dings anywhere. They came off a brand new Jeep with less than 1500 miles. Only thing that is needed are 9 more of the clips to attach it to the car. The rest of the clips are good. I’m sure the dealer would have some they could sell. Each assembly is 350 but we’ll take 500 for both.
