Didn’t think there was a big difference between trucks before I started, but then I got switched from a 2019 Pete to a 2020 freight liner, and it was night and day. Prefer the freight liner going backwards, but loved the Pete going forwards.
Big fan of you ET transport, as a new driver these information really helps. I saw him today in Calgary and ET transport truck, don’t know why it made me happy. Keep up the good work ET
Thanks for the video. I will be heading to get my 2023 in the next day or so. I appreciate you addressing the wind noise. I am hoping hard side winds are less irritating in the new KW than they were in my 2019 Pete. I am actually looking forward to driving again. I've been off the road for about 10 days and didn't know if I would get back in a truck. These videos have given me a positive outlook on my driving career.
Such genius location of the camera on the windshield. Unfortunately, it is too small to completely obstruct the view, but I am sure that the company is working hard to solve this problem.
The Kenworth T680 is my favorite road truck and I'm so happy to work for Kelsey trail because that is the trucks they use so maybe I'll be driving a next generation Kenworth T680 soon. I'm also my dream to own a Kenworth truck so I may addfenuly own one my self
336T rear end Pros- good acceleration, torque is higher, good for heavy haulage Cons- lower top speed, in a constant speed it's not that good in fuel consumption.
I just got my new truck yesterday, and the first thing I noticed is the lower feluel economy at constant speed. The truck constantly dropped into 11th gear at mild inclinations where my recently departed '19 Freighter Cascadia will hold 12th gear for dear life and will coast on the decline. My truck on have 1200 miles on it, so maybe the mileage will increase as the miles pile on.
Jt did your mpg get better after you put miles on it ,I just started driving mine with the experience I have 3.08 ratio heard that there is a break in period
I'm curious what those foils will do in the rain. The 680 is bad at sucking water to the side windows already. It would be nice if they solved that issue with those and didn't make it worse. If there is a vehicle close enough in front of you the cruise may not activate until it is clear. I thought that the cc was messed up until I realized its an actual built in safety feature. There really isn't much difference in ride quality between bobtail and with a trailer in the t680. They are pretty good trucks. I am not a fan of the paccar engine and transmission though. They have had quite a few issues.
Gear ratio as Brian mentioned 336 is good for tridem but van or reffer work on tandem much lower. Maybe another video spec. Out right truck and right torque making right choice matter. Now what's price on that truck comparing to Volvo or freightliner
Please make a video on Kenworth t680 vs freightliner cascadia comparison....cummins engine in t680 and dd15 reliability...ride quality...and comfort....thankyou
There smart looking truck now just to get my az at 60 lol. My kids hall armour stone and want me to try. Love to have one for sure. One of the other guys he hauls with just had one delivered.
Good potholes? Swing by my folks house in Cali. Let me take a turn at the wheel and ask some questions and we can both explore "toyhole" and "crap here they come ditch that". Two potholes that have never remained fixed for long since the 80s. Their uses changed the older we got. I am sure it's full of original matchbox cars, Star Wars and GI Joe toys under a layer of random beer cans, cigarette packs and questionable magazines.....
Narrow hood will cause cooling issues down the road. I’m experiencing it with my 2015 T 660. Hot summer days I have to down shift all the time. Everything has been replaced.
Nice and very good looking Truck, Kenworth T680 and like so much to drive soon ,and Brian like your the way do the review the new 2023 T680 Kenworth,,,
It is so sweet ! Can you please tell how it’s been going on google with the T680 ? I am planing to get one 2023 next gen . Please let me know any advise you may share . Thanks and be safe on the road . Frank
I had my wish set on a Volvo but after watching all the reviews on this truck i think I am sold. Only thing I wanted to hear was your critique of the Disc Brakes. I have never had those before either, how did you think it went?
so getting a truck for long term is it still better to get manual vs auto for less repair less problems or has times caught up and it makes sense to get automatioc. I personally only ever driver manual I cant imagine taking load up down hills with automatic .
Would a 2020 Kenworth t680 with mx13 engine 455 horsepower and 2.64 gears be good for towing flatbed trailer and still get good fuel economy and still handle 40,000 pounds
Have a question I ordered mine without the collision litigation/lane departure. Do you know if I got it on the truck could I adjust the sensitivity and volume of the beeping.
@@gabrielf4448 ok dealer told me you couldn't so I got mime without it. Picking truck up today. Love the truck but dealer killed the experience. It was kinda like going out for dinner getting great food and horrible service
@@pepsonautotransport1322 i finally got my truck delivered today…now sending truck to Carrier dealership to get APU installed and next week on road with new truck
Very disappointed that the interior as identical to the previous year generation. The outside definitely looks better but I wish they would have updated the inside
I think the Freightliner is the king of fuel efficiency due to its ability to coast at idle on declined roads to save fuel, but the downside is the notchy/unrefined automated manual transmission from a stop and lower speeds. I haven't driven the Volvo, and I just started my lease on the new Kenworth. The transmission on the Kenworth is very smooth as I expected from Allison.
@@JT-fq2bl Kenworth T680 doesn’t have Allison transmission unless is vocational truck….it has Eaton Fuller Endurant 12 speed transmission and is still automated manual transmission not fully automatic with torque converter as Allison
All commercial vehicles MUST have a 407 transponder to enter the highway. I hate to say it but... you filmed yourself committing an offence. Over $300 in fines plus the toll.
Anybody that is a real driver knows we didn’t need every gear. Especially if you’re driving a truck with a 5x4, 6x4 or even a 13 speed. Today we just have operators, not “truck drivers”. I’ll stick with my ‘74 Cabover Pete.
Oh please, just because todays drivers have it a little easier doesn't mean you are anymore a real "truck driver" get off your high horse.....stop looking down on the drivers who work smarter not harder...
@@truckercowboyed2638: I did it for over 30 years. When you grow up, we can have a real talk. Trucking is not easy. Yes, trucks now have power steering, quieter cabs, bigger stock horsepower, but that does not a “truck driver” make. Anyone can drive a truck, friend, but not everyone can be a “truck driver”. Good luck in your career.
