2022 Lexus NX 350 F Sport Off Road: Pushed to the Limit and Beyond

All new, the 2022 Lexus NX 350 F Sport has a greatly improved interior over the previous generation. With all these updates has it's off-road capability improved at all? We put it through our test course to find out.
Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.

Nice review! Good enough for me since I didn't even expect a luxury crossover is gonna do something like this. To be honest I'd be more afraid of blowing the run-flat on these than worrying about the AWD overheat lol! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the support! I have gotten a couple of flats (even one just a few weeks ago) from vehicles with large wheels and low profile tires. The vehicles overall can generally handle quite a lot, but low bodies and small sidewalls can be very limiting!

I occasionally mess up and bottom out the vehicle, that's when I don't like it. If I'm able to keep the front wheel high so I don't high center I'm happier, even if it is a little tipsy.

Got Tool playing there. Probably sounds great in that car. Especially, if it has the ML sound system.

The only RAV4 hybrid I've tested was done before I started RU-vid. I have tested non hybrid versions and the Prime on this channel though. My best guess is that the hybrid performs similarly to the NX.

@@EngineAdventures you referring nx gas? And I understand there’s class different between Toyota and Lexus but I’ve done calculation rav4 hybrid xse and nx f sport the difference in terms of price around $7000-8000 I think and do you use your nx a lot for long road trip + off road ?

This is just a media vehicle that I had for a week to review. It definitely is a step above the RAV4 as far as interior quality and features, so it may be worth the price jump for some.

what would be a good alternative of this vehicle but also for off roading? i really like this but would like this NX but would like something more off road capable

For the US market your options are limited. Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is the best offroader in this class by far. I doubt anything will be as reliable as the NX. The Rav 4 will be a bit better than NX off-road and still reliable.

I'm wondering if this NX 350 can go through super flooded area without getting flooded engine

Someone who owns one will have to chime in, but I think the air intake is pretty low. You'd probably be ok in about a foot of water with good driving technique. I wouldn't go beyond that though.

...........................You MESSED up You MUST do this with the *** 450h+ F Sport with Elec Batt Much more torq and 45 HP more no contest....Low end Torq via batt whole ifferent animal and the 450h+ Has "ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION!!!

Just depends on the type of overlanding you do. The RX would definitely make for a comfortable ride on long drives and can manage mild off pavement routes.
