@@jugo5139 I'm curious I haven't drove a supra. Have drove all other engines with the b58. It handled more confidently then the ones I tried but supra is like a Miata/brz so probably handles great. I'd get both if you could lol
I just picked up my 240 last week and it pulls. I’m genuinely shocked, and impressed, to see how well the Hyundai compared. On paper, all things being equal, it shouldn’t be near that close so full respect.
Picking up my m240i this month. Im surprised to see the Elantra keep up, very impressive! Happy to see Hyundai being one of the few automakers still making fun cars.
@@jesserivera9046 lol sound like a hater. Engine is pretty reliable. The engine is a theta variant which was the base of the Evo and Genesis ect. I had mine tuned for 60k didn't break anything. It all depends. Maybe your friends didn't do basic maintenance
@boostlife6370 no he's speaking facts a stage 1 tune on your super fast rental is only making 314whp and 320 torque.....lol a stage 1 mk7 gti is making 320 to 330whp and 380 torque and will have zero issues.

Nice! Elantra N didn't do that bad. Hung in there. I picked up a Cyber Grey Elantra N a few months ago and love it. I'm just worried about modding it and voided warranty, so I may just do cosmetics on it for now. I have a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 rspec that I've done light mods to (headers , intake, exhaust), I'll probably just keep modding it for now. Good run!

I saw that coming. 2017-2020 M240i will be my next car. Edit: I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. I am done with Hyundai and Genesis after this car. 348 horsepower was nice to experience, but I am ready for the next level.
@@boostlife6370 I don't know too much about the engines or the differences, but there is a dyno video of a 1,000whp M240i. I am not sure how legit it is, but the B58 engines in general are capable of reaching horsepower higher than 1,000 with the proper build. They are reliable. B58 would be my first BMW and my first turbocharged car. 500whp was my goal as a daily for my Genesis Coupe, but everyone blows up their Genesis Coupe engines because the stock engines can hardly maintain any levels beyond 420-440whp. It needs a fully built 4.0L or 4.1L motor to handle 500whp reliably. Even then, I don't trust it anymore. I did my research on my Genesis Coupe and cars in general from 2020-2023. Turbo kits are not worth it for my car. The 2.0 is much better though. I am not hating on the Elantra N. I have simply had my time with a Hyundai. A basic pump gas tune on the M240i is going to destroy the Elantra N by a large 747 airplane length. The Supra is actually my favorite car among the current newly released cars. I just like the M240i because of the extra space and AWD features.
Yea the m240i-340i are amazing cars as well. I would wanna test the m240i. The m340i I tested didn't have much spirit when driving it. Not much driver engagement
@@boostlife6370 Honestly, you’re probably not gonna notice much if any difference from a test drive. The lack of engagement you speak of is due to the electronic steering and many other electronic assistance capabilities of the cars. For me, this is a benefit because the car is very versatile - fast and daily drivable, but I can see how it would be a problem if you’re looking for something sportier. Overall, for performance and reliability, you won’t get anything better for the price.
It’s cool seeing these cars go against each other, I believe the same guy who runs the m performance side of Bmw also helped out on engineering the N side of Hyundai or something like that

It's Elantra N and a stock gti is not even close roll racing an Elantra N. Maybe tuned. The m230-m340i are a monster when tuned. For stock it's not the fastest tbh but it launches hard
@@boostlife6370 yeah but a stock m240i is much faster then a stock Elantra N line. A GTI is not far off from how quick the Elantra N line is, especially the newer ones with DSG. It would at least have to be a MK7.
Car is a great car. Great interior amazing engine great sounds good reliability. Not the biggest fan of the new design BMW is taking. Think they kinda look like robotic.
The only downside to m240i is that it doesn't have manual gearbox... Also does the Elantra N have metallic inner door handles??? I ask cause in Europe the i30N has cheap plastic

We both honked and floored it same time. Elantra is lighter so gets out a bit faster. BMW has more too end so pulled higherspeed. It's exactly what the video depicts

That’s what happens when you start in comfort mode with the transmission at level 1. Put it in sport with the transmission in in D3. And the BMW would have been gone.

Even with a tune it wouldn't matter much the EN isn't as fast as people are making it seem. With a tune you are looking at 314whp and 340 torque stock turbo maxed at just a stage 1 tune. So many other cars are making better numbers with a stage 1 tune and they are not even maxed out on stock turbo
He was a good sport hes a friend and was blown away at how well it kept up. That new b58 is not joke so that's a huge W for Hyundai. The race before that he got a bad start and couldn't catch up

They are completely different tiers of cars. To make matters even worse, it's a FWD which means from a roll it is even slower due to physics. So, one of two things, this guy is someone you do not know and he was waving you to go on or he is your friend and he purposely tried to make you look good. Idk Francisco I recently raced one in my GR Supra and it gave me a good battle ofc at the end of the day the M240i gonna eventually catch up same at when I raced one, but for a FWD four banger keeping me at bay up to 40 MPG was quite crazy. Hyundai knows what they’re doing now especially with the N performance models.
Them N models are dangerous in roll races I can’t wait to see enthusiast start tuning them. Of the line though I know it’s front wheel drive but it’s a lot of wheel spin idk if the guy I was racing had traction control off or it that’s the launch control or something but I was smoking him and I honestly only believe it was because he was spinning but when we did the roll at 20 that thing has torque!!! but after 40-50mpg my whip takes off and what can I expect it makes nearly 300hp I can expect it to keep up with something with 382hp after 50 mpg I’m not saying it isn’t realistic but like I think it’s known top end compared to more powerful vehicles isn’t going to be powerful.

The Mk7-7.5 GTI with DSG (DCT) are a good example of what something as simple as a quicker shifting transmission can do for acceleration. Stock, was able to match and even outrun a stock 2014 Mustang V6 auto. He did a intake, headers, exhaust, and dyno tune making around 300whp yet wasnt able to outrun my Mk7.5 with nothing but a K&N panel filter and JB4 on 93 map.

Bang for buck - N takes the 🏁 2023-vs-2023: BMW M240i is nearly 50% more expensive yet depreciates nearly twice as much within 5 years, still lives at the top of maintenance cost lists, and includes not even half the factory warranty of the Elantra N. Then there are also limited shops willing to touch a BMW, overpriced ESPs down the road, and the usual common issues (mainly linked to plastic parts) that still plague modern BMWs.

Are you tuned? I have a f22 240 manual stock and put at least 3 cars on one of those Elantra n's from a 60 roll when the guy tried to cut in a merging lane.
