The new Baleno looks stunning and the road presence looks amazing as well. What is disappointing is that the CVT has been replaced by AGS ..which in my opinion is inferior when compared with CVT or a traditional torque converter. I had a terrible experience with Celerio AMT and finally had to discard the car and go in for a Hyundai i10 AT. Maruti should rething it's decision to introduce AGS on Baleno when it has categorised Baleno as a premium hatch back.

Center armrest is a MUST….like common. HUD ka kya use hai family car mein

Great detailed review. One nitpick, the music system is not generic but it is Arkamys Music System but only in top variant. Its the same which comes in i20 sportz as well and sounds pretty close to Bose.

Maruti is putting 1.5 ltr engine in export spec model with same chasis and everything. They should have atleast given an option for that us too.

A really good update given by Maruti Suzuki even tata should now think about altroz next generation and even hyundai should think of it!

Apart from safety rating baleno alpha as no other problems its a good car

If the seats are not ventilated then fabric seats makes more sense from a comfort point of view… however there’s always the option of leather covers.

New Baleno will never be as good as tata altroz in terms of build quality, but is comparatively better than the old Baleno, initially I booked altroz ,but changed to new Baleno due to poor pre sales and after sales and service network of tata, Hope the new Baleno scores a 3 or 4 star rating

I20 is expensive because it deserves. Refinement is at next level, more than new Baleno. Turbo and NA engines are awesome. Paint quality is much better. Steering just like amul butter.

Just Booked my Luxe Beige Baleno Alpha Manual today...90 days waiting....anyways wish me luck .....my first ever car....but i also love i20....both are fab cars....and right now, the prices between baleno and i20 are almost identical.... infact if you ask me, i20 is more VFM....for same price it is giving you a bigger touchscreen, Bose Sound system compared to Arkamys....a sunroof.....yes Baleno has a 360 cam and a HUD..but I would prefer the feature list of i20.... it's just that where I live the maruti network is much stronger and the workshop and this dealership is next door and also a friend of mine had an i20 elite and she told me her ownership experience was subpar in terms of reliability of the car...so i choose baleno...and also in this Luxe Beige colour, the Baleno just looks top notch..even better than i20 imho.... but of course looks are subjective....I agree with most of your points..I test road both of them for over 10 kms...multiple times....before making a choice...the tractability of baleno's engine is much better than i20...in terms of Naturally Aspirated options...i20 does have better high speed stability and brakes...but in terms of space, i20 is more spacious, sure the boot is a little smaller, but the rear seat space is unmatched, even putting some sub compact SUVs to shame... i20 also has a lot of creature comforts such as wireless charger, air purifier and the list goes on....Baleno does have slightly better seats... it's almost inseparable, like king kong vs godzilla.... anyways both are fantastic cars, anyone will be happy with either...and both are evenly priced as well with good dealer/service network and very acceptable ownership costs...i20 was released in 2019, maybe it is due for a minor update...

I think Maruti has stepped in the wrong direction here!! Just increasing the sheet metal thickness on the outside like bonnet and doors isn't good enough, its still based on the same chassis which has failed to perform well!!! They should have focused on chassis redesign and making it more structurally rigid instead of the build quality of doors and bonnet. Bolero has a lot of weight but is terrible when it comes to safety rating and Nissan Magnite is very light but still managed to score a 4 star rating!!!!!

Which one is better baleno or amaze ?

Well new baleno might be better than most of the Tata hatchbacks but it is severely lacking against hyundai hatchbacks...it is better than nios in premiumness and in some other aspects but it is no match for the new hyundai i20. Under 11lakhs i20 is the most premium hatchback I have drove till now. But yes this facelift of baleno will have a very good road presence without any doubt.

I don't really know how much sense does a HUD makes when the same information is available in the MID as well as infotainment screen. Instead of that they could have provided ventilated seat for driver that could have made more sense in indian climate conditions.

I20 asta price is less than baleno alpha. But i20 had some engine issue in 3rd and 4th gear its really underpower and less pickup than baleno. Batter and premium option is new glanza.
