I too saw it, today actually and I instantly fell in love with it, tho it was the c200 but still looked amazing, I will forever pick benz over any car out there
I love this car; I understand the tech, which some people don't like. The exhaust tips with or without doesn't matter to me and I've gotten enough speeding tickets when I was in my teens to last me a lifetime.
I think the w205 was perfection in design (exterior wise), especially compared to the w206. I do like some interior improvements of the w206, but still prefer the overall styling of the w205 interior as well. I guess the w205 was a hard act to beat, especially in AMG trim.
@@parvezzz15 I hear you. The reason I still like the w205 better is because the w206 interior is too Tesla with respect to how the lack of center screen integration goes imho. If MB did the EQS 580 style of screen integration for the w206 interior, it would be a home run for me.
Personally disagree, I feel like the W205 had a weird body shape and felt slightly out of proportion, I feel like the W206 is less bulbus and more square and smart looking
@@parvezzz15 If you watch Autogefühl's review, he mentions how extremely hot the centre screen gets in the summer because of the positioning and the angle of it, it was so hot he couldn't hold his finger on the screen for more than a few seconds.
Most cars nowdays aren't that different from their previous generations, they are more of a redesign than a generation. The big step was from the W204 to the W205, but that's because the W204 was from 2007. Cars that came after 2011 or 2014 as the W205 is, are basically the same as any 2021 new gen.
The upcoming C63 will still have a lot of power. Just worried the batteries will be a lot to carry around to make up for the loss of 2000cc and 4 cylinders (wait, that's like losing a bank of the V8). And of course, it will be missing the sounds, which is hallmark of an AMG product. Hence, moment of silence.
But it will be heavy probably like 2 tons which really doesnt go in their favour in straight line it will be fast but still that aint the only thing people are looking when they are buying C63
They should of put the w205 c43 v6 engine, tuned to 450hp-500hp then added the hybrid system so the we can live the best of both worlds. The environment will be happier and so will we!!
@@ode1854 nah w205 looks properly good and the body lines worked with the lights. Here the w206, it doesn't really work. But I think this car is really about where people are gonna spend time, the interior, which is a small upgrade over w205 for some people.
I checked it in person and it looks nice but feels (and is) cheap, all tactile buttons with no feedback (seat adjustment "buttons" don't even move etc) it's not good at all...
@@ode1854 The one I checked was a fully loaded with optional leather, AMG exterior, spectre blue.. it doesn't get better than that. Some things are good, I liked how it looks outside, the lightning, the seats and steering wheel... but the rest I didn't like, even the sunroof isn't controlled by physical buttons, but those "gesture" tactile ones that feel horrible. Trust me I wanted to like it, I was there with the money burning a hole in my pocket ready to splurge but it really wasn't it...
I think that the type of a buyer that'd consider a C class would lovingly trade sheer power and torque for comfortnes and luxuriness the competition such as BMW or Tesla bring. The C has definitely seen more of a tech rather than re-engineering facelift, which also happens to be the pushing selling factor. I think it's an amazing choice for one that want's luxurious indoor experience and power when stepping on the pedal. Definitelly a dream car, for ones I age up.
Mercedes became the Apple of the car industry. Its disappoiting honestly, but i guess it sells better. Non car folk will get in them and they will immediately feel overjoyed with the screens and colorful leds. In a year or two they will trade the car for the next best thing anyways, Mercedes is like whatever to me now
Absolute bull shit you are judging Mercedes on one car which is one of there cheapest models smh clearly you don’t like Mercedes probably a bmw fan boy or maybe even an American muscle fan boy.
@@matthew07shquad31 all of the new gen Mercedes use this highly tech-oriented design language with the huge touch interface being the centerpiece of the interior. Not many folks are fans of that, especially the traditional luxury car market. That said, Mercedes has been shifting their brand image to target a younger audience. Doesn’t mean everyone will like it.
@@matthew07shquad31 I couldn't care less about american muscle cars. Neither i am a "BMW fanboy", whatever this means. I also have my criticisms regarding BMW's products as they have been going the same route as MB lately. Questinable design language, absolute lack of long therm maintainability, digital screens everywhere, one of the numbest steerings i've ever experienced in my life. Wont be going BMW either. Where are you taking these assumptions from?
@@Lucas-ck1po well in fairness I assumed that bc that’s what every gawd damn bmw fan boy says I am sorry for that but I just tryna get people to respect all brands
@@dnsksp7113 Mercedes fan boy huh.. no hate man. It’s just a disappointment to see this cars changing from the sick muscle car to something else.. just another car guy from the other side of the world✌🏼
@@Techno1645 not gonna lie, i’m a merc guy, and yeah i do think mercedes and bmw are going to wrong way with the designs, but still the new bmw’s are way off for me, the big grills just make the cars ugly. Audi is the only of these 3 that makes beautiful and futuristic designs. But yeah i will miss those v8’s and v12’s from amg
Dear friend, Mercedes C class does not have the chassis of the previous series. The front suspensions are now Multilink instead of MacPherson struts and you can have the lowered AMG suspension or as an optional technical package with mechanical adaptive suspension and steering rear axle. Greeting
Wow, Max, you've become a serious reviewer! Love that you mention the bad aspects with such honesty...I didn't know this gen used the old (but revised) platform. Fake exhausts need to DISSAPEAR. Hope you guys have a fantastic 2022!
Same as usual. Super car and beautiful video. I can appreciate this video more than I see a mistake. The reason is because it is so beautiful. Can wait until the end. Thank you.
Bmws are simple but with Mercedes the shifting and gears are so difficult to understand but once you watch review’s and drive it for a couple of months you would get use to jt
Tbh the car is heavily modified chassis wise they got rid of air suspension for now new adaptive and sports suspension, looking at sports mode changes your car maybe equipped with sports suspension which is non adaptive, the new adaptive suspension is really good I heard so far...... As for car overall it's kinda ladies car to me, they care about tech + interior + comfort... This car nails all of those. As for engine lag, response, chassis response, gearbox response and all of that they don't even notice about lol
You do a great job on your review, but your camera distorts the vehicle so much that we're simply not getting an accurate visual of what it looks like. Just my humble opinion.
Am I the only one who doesn't rate the interior? I have a W204 and this just feels cheaper, there's not so much attention to detail, a big screen does not do it for me, I can buy a tablet if I want a big screen...
I love that you are honest about your opinion. Many many youtubers try to find something good about the car which really has no advantages at all. This C class really does looks bad, is not comfortable and super expensive for the value. You'd be way more happier with BMW or Audi at this point
I went to test drive a C220d this weekend and left thoroughly disappointed. It feels so so cheap with hard plastics everywhere. The engine was very smooth and refined though but power delivery is not smooth and linear. You feel significant drop off when you rev to the red line before the gears change. The noise inside was also much louder than I had expected especially the tyre noise. Now, I drive a 2014 E350 Bluetec with 100,000 kms on now. It is an older car and yes it is an E Class but this new C Class is all new and things should improve not get worse. My old E has better road noise insulation and is better over bumps. Not to mention the build and material quality which still feels like a Mercedes. The W205 C Class has soft touch plastics where this new one has hard plastics. So all in all I feel like Mercedes is a shell of its former self. At least they could have kept the C Class at usual Mercedes level and reserve the cheap stuff for the compact models. But no. This C did not feel much different to a highly specced Toyota Corolla in terms of material or build quality and even ride quality. The C Class is therefore now overpriced and brand loyalty is dropping. Mercedes must watch out because they can't just rely on the badge anymore. There's cheaper cars doing better things.
@@expeefy lol Idk if you meant to reply to him I was laughing cause his comment made me laugh. No tire smoke and no drifting 💀 Idk about you but I like seeing that stuff
When was this shot? Isn't it winter now in that part of the world? 🤔 Anyways, great honest review. From the moment Merc launched it, could tell it looked more like a facelift from the W205. The side they pushed the rear wheels a few cm back, and removed the character lines from the W205, thus making the new C Class bulkier. Then take the front and rear from the facelifted E Class. And the dash from the S Class (but with cheaper materials) and point the centre console toward driver ala BMW.
I also hate that fake noise and wish there was a switch to turn it off completely. Like you, I don't like any of the new Mercedes body design language. Thanks for a very honest review on the Russian doll.
@@reverbandchill well that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. What option did you install that made it more comfortable? For example I can buy a Huracan. Comfortable yet still bumpy. Or I can get a full optioned one. It will still ride exactly the same lol just more functions than I had before. I’m just curious because what option allows it to ride superior?
@@Yinyang1277 air suspension is an option and makes a big difference in ride quality on the C-class. Also, optional 19-inch wheels make the ride harsher so you might opt to stay on the 18s. There are a few variations of seats / leather that all have pretty different characteristics - I have the Nappa perforated (ventilated) seats and they’re far more comfortable and contoured ergonomically than the base seats. Burmester audio makes a huge diff in the general feeling of quality, the AMG sport package gives you a much nicer feeling and looking steering wheel among other things, and the list goes on. My point is that the base C300 can probably be somewhat compared to a nicer riding Accord (def not a Civic), but with the better options it very much becomes a proper Mercedes in the eyes of a purist.
@@reverbandchill just so you know I wasn’t doubting you or anything I just genuinely don’t know the different options. That’s really nice to know I am very happy there is an air suspension option because I am positive that will make a day and night difference! Awesome choice hopefully you love it!
Unless you're buying amg, mercedes isn't know for their performance, so i guess it makes sense that they focus more on luxury experience. A BMW on the other hand doesn't need to be M to be enjoyable to drive...
@@JamesSmith-cm7sg He’s got a point in the sense BMW bottom range/engine spec models still have relatively good performance and are enjoyable to drive, whereas the bottom end Mercedes engines are asthmatic puddings. It’s why BMW tend to be seen as drivers cars in general, but with Mercedes, it’s all about the particular model. It doesn’t make you a BMW fan boy just because you’re pointing out the lower end MB’s are crap to drive, it shows that you know what you are talking about and it touches a nerve of the MB fan boys that struggle to deal with it.
If this had the inline-6 from the GLE with that hybrid technology, I would buy this. Never been a fan of four-cylinders despite how torquey and smooth they got over the years. They just don't sound all that good to me and I am honestly embarrassed to drive them.
I love the new look on the C class...I dont like the CLS and E class new versions ...I like the C Class a lot and the S Class...The exhaust ...the fake exaust ...its an easy fix ...200 Euros and there are some serbices that can fix it...weld couple extensions and cut open those fake caps! Looks amazing
The weight is up on this car because of the steel doors for example. The current goal that mercedes is heading for is maximizing profit per sold car. Which is also why the standard climate controle is 1 zone
I'm not sure why Mercedes seems to think it needs all of its sedans to look roughly the same as one another. The taillights, in particular, are an abomination.
I think they realised the C-class is no longer actually in the price range for people with average or median incomes and that the A-class has more or less taken that place. So they probably thought it might make more sense to make their A-class and CLA-class models more appealing to the middle class by making them feel less like budget Mercedeses. One way to do that is to make them look like the more expensive models. That's my theory at least.
@@KevinKickChannel I agree I have the new CLA and I turn a lot of heads and I love it with the AMG package. I feel it has one of the best designs out of most of the new models. But they all look so similar in design
For me biggest mistake is to offer customer cars which look like ctrl+c, ctrl+v... Observer need to look longer time to be able differentiate C from E from S class. Small details are not enough for me to say there are 3 different models. Now for me it's like 1 car with 3 different wheel bases :)
The more I see the new shape of these Mercedes’ the more I fall even more in love with my W205 c250. The exterior looks and feels cheap, the exterior is shockingly hideous that looks almost exactly the same as the idiotic A class saloon. The rear of the car looks as depressed as I am while I’m sat behind it wondering what on earth Mercedes was doing.
Mercedes CFO must have been talking with the design department of this, with the primary focus on driving costs down by sharing components with other models meanwhile they can focus on their larger investments in the new fleet of EQs which will be the replacement of the current fleet. My 2 cents.
He wasn’t lying about the dolls, all the models look to similar that’s why I got the new CLA. I feel it offers the best of everything besides not having a lot of back passenger space but I am usually the only person in my car. Plus I pay for the car for just myself and I always loved the CLS. but the CLS doesn’t have a Panoramic roof and the interior in their was just as small plus it’s double the price and most won’t know a difference between the 2 unless their parked next to each other…
So glad to hear your review. I was stressing on which car to buy as I had the previous c250 but I am so glad I didn’t wait till it arrives in Australia and just got the BMW 330 instead. And I just absolutely love driving this car especially through the hills plus you got to admit it does look better!
