The problem with it is that I have a hard time to distinguish it from the CLA, even when this is wider and bigger. Now almost all models look the same.
Hey Thomas, I watch your videos daily and they are pretty amazing, just one recommendation from my end, I would recommend doing the 0-100Km, 0-200kms launch runs with a Timing Gear. Thanks, Sanjay.
Above & Beyond feat Zoe Johnston!❤️ thank you! I bet it sounded very good in this audio system👍 Which car you’ve tested has the best audio quality from the OEM sound system?
Autogefühl is all about cars, but I see that Tomas has a perfect taste in watches. Would like to see a review of his watch collection 🙂. This Alpina watch is gorgeous!
@@autogefuehl Ah that makes sense. I can understand how that wouldn't make sense since English isn't your first language. I can't even count to 10 in German lol.
Great review Thomas, the problem with Merc in the UK is due to various shortages, they prioritise the new models. What I mean is, all E53 variants don’t have multi-beam, only the high performance LEDs. Additionally, we don’t get the AMG steering pod controls for dynamics, ride etc. Another annoying problem, is that the new C class models, don’t come with 4-matic, as an option. I was buying a new car this year, but now, I’m going to wait for the new E-class. This is also because of the stupidity of our leaders who are rather hypocritical, given all the things they’ve done and have never faced justice for, either illegal or otherwise. Still, I guess if you have enough people in your pockets you can do whatever you like, until we all start to realise what it means for everyone other than the idiots in charge.
Fantastic review as always Thomas!! And as for the question in the title, well as long as this does not have everything integrated into the touchscreen it's safe to say this one is better :)
Great review Thomas :) Since you drove the 450 and 53, would you say that they have any turbo lag or not? Are they similar in that regard (below 1500 rpm)? Thanks
How much does this one run fairly loaded I built the E class AMG loaded at $110,000 is this one more money the AMGE class is a TwinTurbo six-cylinder the 300 C class is a twin turbo four-cylinder this must be an eight cylinder look how big the hood is
Pretty car! Now we know exactly what the CLA refresh will look like because everyone paying $80k for a CLS wants it to look like a $40 CLA, hence why the CLS failed in sales. Lost its styling unique design including the 4 seat arrangement.
@@artureff3046 a valid point but the E class lost it as well, still a great seller. Everything I saw so far from critics, that inline 6 is really exceptionally smooth and powerful. I owned a CLS in 2009, 2012, and CLS63s in 2014 and 2017 and what a head turner these models were. Unique styling in and out. Todays model is simply a bigger CLA with the E class cockpit. That’s when I gave up on the model plus everything is AMG now in 3 flavours , Even that lost its glory. There was a time, just a few years ago when you told someone you drove an AMG their jaw would drop and eyes would shine. Today the answer is “ yea, my teenage daughter drives one “. So much for prestige.
@@harleyquebecenrevue3580 As a current previous gen cls550 owner...you NAILED this spot on. My car STILL gets a lot of looks...especially when its freshly washed...and yes everything is amg now it sucks and is not a statement anymore...I will say though the amg gt53 4 door is very nice looking and it would be my only choice at this point if I get another benz...but im looking at a porsche taycan now...the benz brand as a whole just is not what it used to be with all the cheap A classes and GLB craps out now...
@@v12-s65 Dude the current CLA has a top notch interior The previous gen had a shitty interior but the current gen blows everything in its segment out of the water
Great review and a beautiful car. When my kids are out of the house, I would definitely swap the E-Class for this beauty. My only fear is that Mercedes will have become even worse to operate by then. Why is the once No. 1 ergonomics getting worse and worse? Should price really matter in this class? Or are the touch panels and capacitive keys not cheaper at all? What other reason could there be for making a vehicle that does not drive completely on its own so poorly operable? Anyway - if it gets too bad, I'll just buy a well-maintained model from today's era :D
Using touch controls has to be cheaper, specially in luxury where all the physical buttons would have to be made of expensive, higher quality materials. Also, a lot of people seem to be fascinated by screens and capacitive controls for some reason, it's perceived as "high tech".
@@insayn7995 I agree with you completely. The question remains whether these are also the buyers. I only know my environment. We're all technology enthusiasts, but in the car it's just annoying (until the things drive fully autonomously). For me, that's an important purchase criterion. I switched from the Audi A6 with a heavy heart and won't buy another Audi with this ergonomics. If I'm not an isolated case, the manufacturers are cutting deep into their already gaping wounds. But I don't survey the whole market, only my bubble. It would be exciting to get objective data.
@@ClaireYunFarronXIII People get cars based on how it looks FIRST...then everything follows...no one cares about a fast ugly car...no one would get a car they didn't find nice looking just because its "faster"...THAT'S stupid.
It's utterly disappointing that every episodes of VW, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, BMW failed to completely ditch animal skins. Poor Thomas he has done everything he can.
Also ganz ehrlich.
Joke: Why 6 is afraid of 7? because 7 8 9 ( Seven Eat(eight both words are pronounced the same) Nine) :) Congrats for the old style reviews. My style too!
I don’t like how Mercedes is sharing components with Renault/Nissan; you can get the same turbine AC vents from this CLS in a Nissan Sentra from factory.

THE CLS and CLA are ridiculous cars that no adult can fit in the rear seats, nevermind get in or out. They should be removed from production. It is an embarrassment to Mercedes to make such a vehicle with such ergonomic flaws.
