2022 Mitsubishi Xpander vs Toyota Avanza Comparison | Philkotse Reviews (w/ English Subtitles) 

Last month lang ang brother ko ay nalabili ng Avanza-E MT, he is a newly driver pero nagawa nyang ibyahe Batangas to Makati and vice-versa, for me as a passenger, very comfortable naman and hindi ko masyadong naririnig ingay ng ibang sakakayan sa kalsada lalo na kapag bumper-to-bumper traffic

Tingin ko Veloz ang katapat ni Xpander. Katapat niyan yung BRV and XL7, parehong mga subcompact MPVs. Pero Xpander pa din ako, better driving dynamics, space and comfort hanap ko higit sa astig na looks. For family use talaga.

Amazing head-to-head battle review between Xpander and Avanza! Pero mas ok for me ang Xpander. Yes mas mahal, pero yung riding and driving comfort na binibigay nya ay priceless. But in respect for Avanza Toyota really did a great job on improving it.

As a driver the “long sofa mode” will not benefit me. However cruise control will make highway drives less tiring and more economical. And the automatic brake hold will make stop and go traffic less tiring too. So its the Xpander for me.

Sobrang relax ni expander nung nagtest drive namin malawak yung comfort niya hindi matagtag.

I was thorn between these two before I decided to go for Xpander after Mitsubishi gave a discount that put the price down almost similar to Avanza's net price. Looks, break auto hold and cruise control is the deciding factor for me.

P141, 000 difference from expander is P141, 000.. Big savings for me.. For me, I CHOOSE TOYOTA AVANZA.. VERY FUEL EFFICIENT.. MAHAL ang gasolina.. P141, 000 Is more gasoline to buy FOR, more road trip for the NEW AVANZA. NY OPINION ONLY.. PLANNING TO BUY AVANZA G CVT, SOONEST.. 😊God bless.. 🙏🙏🙏😇😇

I own a Mitsu Car but, Having a Veloz (AvanzaTODL) is also good to consider. Parehong maganda, pero if galing ka sa Mitsu pwede itry toyota, looks-wise maganda ang Veloz, sa Kaha mukhang mas matibay nga lang ang Xpander.

Long term use, mas matipid sa maintenance pa din ang 4-speed. Plus nsa apak ung tipid sa gas. We can also do a 9km/L (city driving) in our first gen gls sport. Malaking bagay din ang driving comfort sa long drives and traffic.

ung width ng xpander is a big big diff when it comes to seat comfort as well for passengers..try nyo 3 persons sa 2nd row ng xpander vs avanza..makikita nyo ung difference sa center console..makikita nyo definitely wider ung xpander..

Sa probinsya ko nakatira,gamit na gmit ko ung cruise control,ang ndi ko maintindhan,bakit lahat ng daan puro private at may toll,ang problema napakamahal. Sana yan ang pagtuunan ng pansin. Anyway both are great vehicles,but expander is the clear winner between the 2. I think its better to compare veloz and expander.

Para sa ibang undecided pa sa dalawa may news or forum na madaming issues on xpander compared sa avanza and malaki nadin ang price drop ng xpander from 1M+ to 900k+ nalang if magttingin kayo ngayon, the point is the reliability and durability still owns by Toyota Cars.

Weird, I do 9-10km/l in moderate traffic with the Xpander and 18+km/l on the highway. Guessing the one who drove the unit might not be used to the light gas pedal feel of the Mitsu. Also, mas hindrance pa nga yung 3rd row seat flaps ng Avanza vs the Xpander's when folded flat pero sa Mitsu lang ang napoint out. Great review nonetheless, the attention to detail esp in engine & transmission performance. Shows why the Avanza G is much cheaper despite being a top spec variant compared to the Xpander. You get what you pay for indeed.

For me xpander for the win. Comfortability sobrang ganda wlang ingay sa loob kayang kaya mga lubak wla ka marramdan sa loob sobrang smooth malakas hatak maganda looks agresive at macho.. Hindi ka bibitinin sa acceleration overtake and uphill sisiw 10person kmi nkasakay 7 adult 3 kids pero sisiw dahil sa automatic 4 speed nya mararamdaman mo tlga lakas ng xpander at acceleration. Besides malaki gulong ni xpander at mataas pa sya. Para kang naka montero pag xpander kotse mo. Nilamang lng ni avanza is safety feutures.

After so many deliverations with my kuya and ate kung sino ang ipapalit namin sa old car namin between avanza g or xpander gls. I personaly love xpander but we unanimously choose avanza g for more safety features since more of family use ito samin. And A+ talaga sakin kapag mabilis ang aftersales service. Yung presyo lang nila malayo pero kung financing ay ang laki ng DP ng avanza compared sa xpander. Monthly naman hindi nagkakalayo. Yun lang ang down side for me sa avanza g, butas bulsa sa DP.

Nalilito kami kung sino pipiliin May first choice avanza second rush third expander. Sino ba talaga mas maganda avanza or expander para makapagpalit kami ng desisyon 😊

Fuel efficiency in my own opinion depends on your driving mode.

Both their looks are more of an acquired taste, the Xpander being the bolder and the Avanza being the more subdued. But I also don't like the extra large grill of the Avanza. It looks like a big, gaping mouth or a big gaping wound. Reason why I went with the Ertiga. I terms of tech, I think the Xpander takes it. But in terms of safety, I think the Avanza takes it with more airbags and whatnots. Fuel economy is close, especially in real world uses. The traditional 4-speed automatic is very reliable for heavy hauling. While the newer CVT may have a slight leg up in fuel economy. Space, ride comfort? Check the showrooms and you will know that the Xpander is still more spacious. What's more comparable to the the Xpander in terms of space is the Ertiga or XL7. Same can be said in terms of ride comfort and NVH. It's a good toss up really. Both are good buys. What remains is the buyer's personal preference. Thanks for the comparo!

Long sofa mode were introduced way back with mitsubishi fuzion (2008-2014) but unfortunately they decided to scrap the whole thing (it doesn't sell well bc of reasons that doesn't make sense) . It was promised before that mits will release a diesel variant but they downplayed the idea because they wanted the montero to sell instead but montero has a poor real estate with regards to cabin space. I'm glad that toyota took the advantage of this feature for such a compact design. Usefull sakin tong sofa mode na to especially on long haul drives saka pag tumatambay sa antipolo noon sa mga overlooking, chill lang sa back seat with booze ;)

For me Ill choose the AVANZA because of the retro classic design. Meaning timeless kahit umabot ng 20yrs for me goods p din tignan..

Super Excited nako magkaroon ng Xpander (Top of the line) pero pag nagretire nako sa work at nagfor good na.

Between the two, parang mas tatagal ang xpander bcause of the 4speed at..im not comfortable with cvts' esp if the car is fully loaded. Like what they've said in the video, for hauling and much accurate ang AT than CVT. Pero who knows baka in xp might be the last AT dahil now and in the future puro cvt na ang gamit na transmission. Plus mas pogi ang xp and ung driving and mas comfortable gmitin.

Yung looks ang mahirap i-ignore when it comes to choosing a ride. Aesthetically, Xpander is way better looking than the Avanza. Mas aggressive, higher ground clearance, and overall mas pogi talaga. Avanza looks like a box with wheels with the height of a sedan - and the oversized grills look awful.

what about reliability? and resale value?

Mas maganda siguro test din nyo petrol consumption na loaded passenger and cargo. Wag yung isa o dalawa lng. At ilang litro ang tank capacity.

Wishlist: Sana mabigyan pareho ang Avanza at Xpander (at lahat ng gasoline engine MPVs) ng bigger engine, mas tugma s 7-seater. Sana ang Xpander mabigyan ng at least 6 airbags for better safety.

I was torn between Xpander and Avanza before but I ended up getting Avanza G coz of its brand😂... Tipid sa gas,grabeh!!! Medyo jologs ang features but my goal is to drive and do errands, that's it.

Pogi, spacious, smooth - hands down sana ang Expander. If only it had the safety features of Avanza, I would have gladly paid that extra 141K. Kaso mas importante sakin ung safety features, having a simple lifestyle - home-office commutes (SLEX + city drives) & occasional road trips.

These mpv's with 7 seaters should be equipped with 2 up 2.4 L engine 130 to 150 hp. With the aircon on it would use up to 20% of ur hp its ridiculous to hear mpv's with 1.3 hp.

Xpander really dominates all MPVs except (INNOVA). He just needs to prove how reliable and durable he is like Toyota.

Some things to point out: 1. Avanza G doesn't have DRL 2. Xpander headlights are now less prone to stone strikes 3. Xpander cruise control is NOT adaptive cruise control 4. A part 2 comparo can be done to include: - drag race (acceleration test) - laden steep climb performance - headlamp lumens output (illumination test) with and without foglamps Good job anyways! Especially on justifying what an additional 140k buys for you. I guess the next comparo would be between the Xpander GLS and the upcoming Hyundai Stargazer!

Expander v3 perfect na cya sa taas,yun v1&2 kc mababa ang ground clearance takaw sayad

reliability remains the final deciding factor for me. What good are all those bells and whistles if the basic backbone cannot be relied upon. I would still choose a Toyota.

In thailand stoped selling Avanza and changed to be Veloz someone said no more avanza build but what is this

front wheel drive sirain ho ...maganda lang yan sa una with a year pag may marinig ka sa pang ilalim niya doon muna malaman ang sakit ng front wheel drive..kaya stability ay straight engine at manual transmission.

Huwag kami. Mas maganda ang Xpander kaysa Avanza. Kaya nga mas mataas ang presyo e. Ang Avanza halos kapresyo lang yan ng vios noon 600-700k. Long sofa mode hindi big deal yan kaya ka nga nag 7-seater para marami kang maikarga/maisakay. Mas malaki mas spacious, better interior, great fuel economy, looks, comfort. Saan ka pa? Xpander.
