2022 NHL All-Star Skills Competition: Fountain Faceoff 

Imagine walking down the street then seeing some of the best pro athletes in the world playing hockey in a fountain

That exchange between Claude and the host at the start of his turn was hilarious

The pucks should've already been lit up, that ruined it.

Those announcers were brutal!

I just picture the fans in the arena watching this on TV like us 😂

As cool as this idea was, definitely less excitement without the fans around them.

Don't let Suzuki's tone fool you, he always sounds like that.

You know what would be fun? Have them shoot for the bullseye like at the county fair, and instead of the carney sitting in the tank, put that announcer in there. It would be the highest-rated "skills comp" ever.

Datsyuk would have finished under 5 seconds, we can all obviously agree on that.

The tap the puck to light it up thing ruined what was kind of a cool thing to watch, and that’s too bad.

Would have been better if Bellagio pond was frozen

It can’t be a skills competition without players not being able to understand if they actually scored

I was just there. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this. This was awesome this is why I love Vegas, they’re alway open to do the coolest things and the NHL is always creative about new ideas. Perfect match

I wish one of them tried firing a slapshot across the fountain to get the puck skipping on top of the water, that would've been fun to watch x)

They should have done this competition during the day. They also should have taken advantage of the opportunity to team up with the NFL

wow this coverage is terrible, the announcers are terrible, questions in interviews are terrible, like really bad.

It may be time to take the direct communication between the announcers and the players away. It's sad to listen to all the cringe questions these announcers are asking as the player is attempting to focus on the event. Ask your questions after the fact, and have someone who knows hockey talk to the players. Also, stop making the players smash the pucks to turn on flashing lights before each shot, I have no idea what the NHL's fascination is with lighting in pucks. This event looked like it could have been fun for the players and the fans, but all the little extras completely ruined it.

That looked like a lot of fun and definitely showed their skills. But one thing that the NHL All Star weekend gets wrong EVERY YEAR are electronic technicalities. The clock not stopping for Stone and others, the pucks having trouble lighting up (why weren't they already lit up). But wake up, boys. Is it that cold that you are that miserable? This is advertisement for your sport. At least act like you're having fun. The announcers tried to help but seemed like they gave up.
