The Clio, in my opinion, is the best family/city car money can buy... I've driven the previous generation and can say that it was an amazing experience. The feel, handling, visibility and responsiveness is great.
Could happen in heavily taxed countries. But honestly for a city car this engine without turbo or direct injection is just perfect. The lack of engine torque is compensated by shortened gearing. And as a by product they've sorted the biggest issue which affects every single 1.0 turbo car - whose gearing is too heavy for certain slow speed city situations.
