This is our 2022 Spacia Hybrid XZ Turbo. At the time of the video it's not got an import plate and we're yet to drive it on the road in any large capacity, but here's a brief walkaround for now.
👋👀Hi #Suzuki Cars Ph Bring/launch/release Kei cars to your local dealerships it will sell like hotcakes🔥 ♡🚗👈 many car enthusiast are eagerly waiting for this relase all we have are outdated, salvaged & converted old 10year plus++ "Surplus" in ~Cebu visayas & some parts of mindanao 🤷♂️ We hope you'll be the 1st car brand to introduce your Kei cars in Ph market soon.. 🤞🙏😊
I've just purchase one (Suzuki Spacia Custom), AWD and Turbo 2021 10k km cost just $30k pearl white with black roof faux leather and cloth seats both front seats heated. Imported via IronChef Imports (Australia). Should have it in two weeks. Can't wait. Going to Sell my 2006 Nissan Elgrand E51 which I also imported but do not need such a large van now. Shouls save on the fuel.
Yoooo that's so sick! We're about to drop ours off at Sinergy Motorsports to finally get our import plate attached (hopefully soon). Keep us posted on yours!!!
Hi Fred, I’m wondering how many ANCAP stars this car can score? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not picking on it but just wanted to know if it will cost more for car insurance. Who do you go with the car insurance?
Hey! No idea on ANCAP score but the Jimny gets a 3 star so I imagine this would be similar as the Jimny is a similar construction for side impact. However the Spacia has a few more airbags. As far as insurance goes that doesn’t affect the cost, but many insurers won’t insure imports, which is why I went with Shannon’s. I told them how much I value the car, they told me the annual fee, I pay it, all done. That simple.
No need for tyres yet, but shouldn’t be too difficult as I have a couple boutique tyre joints that I get track tyres through who have assured me they can get fresh rubber for me.
@Fred_Mackay Hi Fred, I'm looking forward to it....Who did you go through to import it? I am very interested in them aswell. and also wondering how long the whole process took. And if you are happy with it and if you think it's worth it over a standard hatchback or sedan. and are the seats comfortable on long trips? thanks
We HAVE had it on the highway, with 4 people in the car. It's pretty stable, not as good on fuel at 110km/h as it is at 80km/h but that's to be expected. However, a massive crosswind with a big flat surface and skinny tires means you need to pay attention to the road a bit more. In short, it'll do it, just not it's favourite thing to do.
Hey Fred, I love this car!!... have you worked out yet how to get the sat nav to work in English? And have you been able to install Australian maps since posting this video? Thanks!! Great Video!!
Hey mate we just started driving it a week ago. Unfortunately as far as I can tell this unit has no possible way to function in English as it was made only for the Japanese market. I've been using a combination of Google Translate app and a poorly translated Owner's Manual from the Suzuki website to work through the settings and learn to use the system by feel. So far we've been able to set up wireless Apple Car Play and turn off all the sat nav warnings which yell at us whenever it thinks we're about to run a stop sign or drive through the Yokohama Harbour, but as far as sat nav goes it's just apps from our phone for now. I'm looking into units from Kenwood and Alpine which should be drop in replacements that maintain 360 camera functions but we're looking at +$2,000 AUD for this unit atm. Not a cheap one! Full review coming soon, stay tuned!
I'm very keen to see your review on this one, I'm considering this model. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it, let us all know how it performs on Aussie roads. You're located in South Australia yeah?
Hey mate! Yeah located in South Aus. We got it on the road just over a week ago and have been living with it. Gave it a run on the Northern Expressway, and through the Adelaide Hills. Gonna run it up the freeway and the Southern Expressway to get the full gamut of experience. So far it's been rock solid, doesn't feel underpowered or slow, but it's also not "fast". It gets to the speeds you need it to the most like 60 or 80 without making you feel like you're in people's way, but it sits on about 3k RPM at 110. Not ideal for fuel efficiency. First tank (25L of 95) it did ~350kms, which is about 14 km/L or 7.14 L/100km. It probably could get more but we've been revving the guts out of it and driving it on freeways to see how it behaves. I reckon once we settle in to daily driving more we'll be looking at around 5L/100km. Full review coming soon, stay tuned!
Hello! Thanks for your video… Honest question, with Kei Car’s being so light, how does the 4wd fare in the snow/gravel/mud??? Moving to Japan soon, was planing on a kei car, but I am worried for when it snows and the slushy roads afterwards. Many Thanks for any honest feedback, Cheers!
I’m so sorry I only just saw this! RU-vid didn’t alert me to the comment. At this point in time I’ve had no encounters with inclement weather, so I can’t say from personal experience. HOWEVER. If you watch the RU-vid channel @dntn24 you can go back a year in his channel and see him camping in a 4WD Spacia in all types of conditions, including snow! I don’t think it would fare as well as a Jimny, as it doesn’t have the height, and it’s not a 4WD you can force to engage, but it does kick in when necessary.
Very interesting car ~ I'm actually considering getting one as well in Melbourne~ How much did you pay for yours and which importer you used? Can the front passenger seat fold flat and align with rear passenger seat?? wanna make tis my camper car lol
We still can't drive it yet due to Govt not releasing import plates. Will be doing a full review at ~400kms! As far as if you can use it as a camper, you can! There's a great youtuber in Japan who was using a Spacia Gear as a camper for a couple years, they've now upgraded to a Jimny for more off-roading. Their YT name is @dntn24. I don't know if links work in replied but if it does, here's a link to their video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T4YNhHjFGSQ.html
@@Fred_Mackay LOL thats exactly what I wanna do~ I've seen other videos on youtube doing this kind of camper :) Can't wait for your full review on the car!
I know in the new Suzuki’s have an SD card so, what if you went to a wrecker and got that SD card. Probably would work in yours if there is a slot somewhere. I’d imagine that the infotainment system isn’t too different. The old cars used to have a Nav CD
There’s no SD card slot, but also this car isn’t sold in an English speaking country, so even if there was an SD card slot, there’s no English firmware for the nav unit for this vehicle. The maps in these nav units is delivered alongside Over The Air updates (via wifi or USB) to their internal storage and is paired with the firmware version.
Oh wow, I didn't think anyone would watch this! Thank you :) Landed and registered it's looking to be ~$28,000. Just shy of $30K I think. We were able to afford it from my partner's insurance payout and some savings, her parents helped out a little too. We still can't drive it yet due to Govt not releasing import plates. Will be doing a full review at ~400kms!
