Girl you should apply to work at dairymens in Wisconsin next summer. I found them on Coolworks last year, worked there as a housekeeper and made $17/hr. They provide meals and housing for $200 a month. It’s kinda remote tho 😂

Right that is what is making me cringe I just want to send my resume... and I am applying to a job in Bar Harbor ME but the whole idea signing a working contract. And I was thinking about Applying to this Tshirt company in Alaska but I was told I wouldn't survive it due to some personal reasons.

your videos are super helpful for me!! i'm applying for my first seasonal job for this summer. do you normally start applying for the summer around now, or can you apply later too? i'm paranoid about applying for something now and then having a job i like more being posted like two weeks later lol
@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
This is a good time to start applying to summer jobs, most of them start around mid-April to mid-May, I've even seen one or two with a march start date as well. Honestly, I've noticed a lot of jobs being real slow getting back about applications, I've talked to other seasonal workers who say the same. I would honestly go ahead and start applying now, if you're already in the hiring process for a job you can always bow out if something better comes along. You can also wait a bit before applying if you'd like but if you see a job you really want go for it.

@@bri_nicolex The key to buying groceries in Alaska is to go to a Safeway, if they have one close. Just go on Fridays for the $5 specials. That's what I did when I worked in Seward. But if you have a "Tipped Position" you're gonna wanna eat out anyway. Me, and my Homie were just using our Tip money on food. Lol!😄
@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
@@michaelmcmillan1425 yeah I definitely could have tried to make it work if I felt like it was the right position for me.😏 Although I have a lot of growing up to do when it comes to effective grocery shopping, I still go to the store and spend so much and then go home and seem to have so little 😅

Your videos are so helpful, I’m applying to Alaska and Yellowstone locations for my first seasonal job but some of them ask for minimum 3 professional references 😫 I only have one, do you have to also contact the references before you put them down? What did you do for references?
@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
If I'm being completely honest I'd have to say I don't always ask before putting down references, but I usually choose people that know me well enough that it wouldn't be weird 😬 at least that's what I tell myself. In corporate America I think it's expected that you'd ask before putting someone down as a reference but with seasonal jobs, they're so temporary that you tend to submit applications all the time and it would be alot to always email references EVERY time you apply. I usually just use past and current supervisors, managers and coworkers for professional references, but I'm careful to choose people who I truly interacted with often and who do know me well enough to give a non generic reference. Also alot seasonal places wouldn't admit to it but some don't even check your references.

Can european apply to coolworks' jobs?
@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
Yes! There are plenty of places that you can apply to with either a J1 visa or H2B, they usually have information on that on their job posting on coolworks. It also doesn't hurt to email places if you're not sure if they accept international applicants.

@Bria Nicolex Have you ever come across any seasonal jobs that are shorter term (like may-august)? I’m a college student trying to find something for summer, but most of the stuff I’ve seen goes into October.
@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
Yeah you'd likely need to look for places that are only open during the summer, most year round places would want you to stay longer, although it's not always required that you stay the whole time . I don't know of any personally, the only place that I've been to that is only open during the summer is Basin Harbor but I would not recommend. The YMCA here in Colorado also hires alot of college students for the summer, it's a good option if you can deal with the high room and board fees.

@@bri_nicolex I also worked as a Night Auditor in Big Sky Resort in Montana. You should get your OWN room, with cable! Plus they have a Shuttle that goes to Bozeman, so you can get your groceries Gor food. They have a Mimi fridge, and a Microwave in the room.

@bri_nicolex
@bri_nicolex 2 года назад
At the time I remember seeing a lot of summer camps and a resort in Montauk, but to see what's available you'd have to go to coolworks, you can search by state. New York doesn't usually have a ton of opportunities but if you keep and eye out you can usually catch a good one.
