After watching this opening, I am happy to say I purchased the entire base set($45) and am super excited to get it into a binder. I had two($600 total) hobby boxes in my cart ready to start building the base set, when I realized this looks soo fantastic, I do not even care about the inserts, autos, or parallels. I certainly am not expecting anything good even with the auto, so the base set is all I will ever need here. Cheers, love the content.
Hi Luke, great series of cards ! But I do not understand these exorbitant prices for the purchase of a box of cards? I am French and before the end of my collections in 2015, these boxes were not so expensive !
From what I gather, the reason is most likely (1) Topps is now under new management having been acquired by Fanatics, and (2) they saw that the price of Galaxy Chrome 2021 is now going for $600 on the secondary market, and so I think they are trying to take some of that profit on the front end.
Great Video, loved the previous one too! It made me buy a 01 out of 25 R2D2 from 2017 and a 01 out of 10 card from 2016, even though the artworks are not as pretty as the recent ones, I think you can't go wrong with both for 40€ if you see it as an investment.
It wasn’t great, but not uncommon. Believe it or not, I saw a much worse box tonight on WhatNot. One auto (non-numbered), no numbered parallels at all, and one pack without even a refractor.
300 is a rip off!!!! the 1st yr U could have gotten it 100 shame on Topps there’s nothing U could have pulled that could have come close to even a 100 dollars.
Yeah the price tag was definitely a shock. I wish I had known about 2021 set when it was still cheap. I guess Topps (under Fanstics now) is trying to take some of the secondary market profit for themselves since the ‘21 set is over $600 now.
