Toyota hit it out of the park with the looks of this car compared to the first gen rebadged Scion. This looks almost Porsche like in design but with the "poor man" budget in mind. Nice job Toyota
This video was amazing... You literally listed EVERYTHING, even showing us the subtle differences in the vents, where the parking sensors were, I mean.. everything. THAT'S how you sell me a car. Subscribed
For me it’s $36k includes All fees and Taxes included dealer add On which were Tint $700, Premium Trunk Carpet $200 and $70 Phone charger car kit after my down payment of $5k it’s $29k Out the door for a Premium Model
I'm averaging over 33 mpg with my manual during break-in on less efficient winter fuel. EPA numbers are BS. Love the car, even with keeping it under 4k until break in is done.
@@christopherpace7291 I got it with 4 miles, though 4 hours of running time, so I'd be more concerned about long idling. However, there's always that concern with any car and, while I'm following the break-in procedure, I doubt too many modern engines ultimately fail from hidden break in issues instead of long term abuse or design fault.
@@carsandcrows9921 The clutch and shift timing was a little tough for me to adjust to (I usually pick it up quickly), but around 1500 miles, the car started working in real harmony. I like it even more now.
I like the body the way it shapes rarely seeing this model on the market ! The Interior looks good all the knobs really suit this car for its characteristics
This is a good video to watch if you're about to test drive one. Gives you a good idea of what to try out and how to access everything so you aren't fumbling around.
I'm buying one at the end of 2022. I'd also like to pick up a couple other clean examples as the years go on just to keep them safe from mods. Some day these are going to be huge money collectors items
How do you turn the VSC and all the traction control completely off? I’d like to buy one but need to know if it is possible to turn everything off and slide it around at will? Also, do all of them come with the Torsen LSD?
@Jese Ramirez no. My connect managed to push me up the list and took this one from an older gentleman that had left a deposit. He had 48hrs to respond and he did not! I'm in CT
My dealer has two premium just in, one in Neptune and one in black but both AT…3-6 months wait for a manual if I order. I’m so torn on ordering what I’d really want which is a premium in Pavement grey with a manual or jumping on one of these autos that are already on the lot. I wanted a new whip for spring 😭
I hate the rear end, and with gas prices the way they are, they're going to make it high octane fuel only? Damn. Its not a high horsepower engine, why tune it for premium fuel?
Exactly why I'm not buying. Horrible time to buy. But don't worry, it's only the first year. Toyota will make many variants and special models and hopefully by then all the BS will have cleared.
Nice. They messed up with No Spare Tire, and having to use Premium Gas at it's Premium Price for not so good gas mileage. What ever happened to the technology that was supposed to give cars BETTER gas mileage? I know this is a sporty car and that's not what it's all about, but just saying.
The EPA gas mileage rating is complete BS. I'm averaging over 33 with my manual on shitty winter blend fuel during break-in (every other car I've owned got worse mileage under break-in), which is about what I assumed it would do in the real world taking into account the tech, engine power, aero, weight, and gearing in comparison to other known vehicles. I wouldn't mind a taller 6th gear, though, and that would help mileage a little more-damn thing runs the same speed/rpm in 6th as my '83 Subaru did in 5th with less than a 3rd the power.
Sports cars are such a tiny tiny niche in the car market that I'm surprised Toyota is still building a sports/sporty car! It's low volume and low if any profit market.
@@dg7438 not sure about that. I remember when the muscle cars were selling very well back in the 80’s. The. Smaller Japanese sporty fuel sippers were the rage. Then luxury cars became popular with sports cars also. Then family vans. Now it’s SUVs. Soon it will be EV probably to stick around for awhile but none were halo cars.
Not a huge difference between base and premium, maybe in slight car power but will I ever drive on a race track, will you ever race anyone lol well maybe if you have to get the premium, it's for cosmetics and increase horse power, car doesn't come with turbo. But you can always modify this car later even if it's a base model
You must please make another video explaining why someone would by the automatic version of this car, like that makes zero sense to me unless you're disabled or something.
This car is only an imaginary car, none of the dealers is Arizona have one. So I will put a GR86 logo on my toyota corolla and imagine I have one of these.
