Sam, you’re still the king when it comes to reviewing 4WD’s. Everyone knows the car is capable at doing mundane things. We’re all waiting for you the get the 300 truly crossed up so you can pull the curtain back and reveal what the platform’s real limitations are. Keep up the good work.
That interior is already out of date. A CD player? Haha. And that touch screen looks like they glued it to the dash afterwards. Still think it's a great vehicle, but for the money, that interior is garbage.
Still didn't answer the BIG question. WHAT IS THE PAYLOAD? Do I still need a GVM upgrade if I have a bullbar on the front, a fridge and other gear in the back and tow a 3 tonne van?
Hello. Thanks for great information LC200 & LC300 are they different on rear chassis structure? The question is can I put LC200 Old (Brink tow bar ) to LC300 ??? Much appreciated
A good all round review but I was disappointed with the on-road component of the review. Only driving the Sahara on road with its electronic KDSS and then concluding the L300 handles really well, cornering flat around bends is not helpful unless you're buying a Sahara. The Sahara is the cheapest model to get KDSS. All models below miss out. Sooo, how does the GX, GXL and VX travel when tested like the Sahara. The previous L200 provided KDSS down to the GXL model and it was brilliant!
The Sahara doesn’t get KDSS, only GR Sport gets it, not even the most expensive Sahara ZX gets it. So we r short changed here in Aus I think. Tho gr sport and zx gets adaptive suspension tho.
What a shame they didn't stick the new diesel into the Prado and bring out a new twin turbo V8 Diesel ! The 10 speed sounds good but I find the 300 a let down after a 14 year wait
base GX wish we could get it in the US, gas engine would be fine , we will get the ugly luxus lx600 only LC 300 we will get, AND the Lexus gx460 (prado v8 gas hog) . toyota priced the LC 200 out of the us market it was $90k us dollars it was to much of a luxury car we never got any diesels LC s in the US
All good and well to say the new motor has more power and torque, sadly only time will tell on the longevity a smaller motor pushing bigger power will have…
@@tahsin28 As still reliable as the Land Cruiser? There is a saying in Africa. ' Want to go to the desert, take any 4WD, if want to return, take a Land Cruiser'.
@@tesla_models Sorry, just no. Not as relaible as a Land Cruiser. The Red Cross only drives Land Cruisers. Because they need the most reliable 4WD in the war zones. Ask any African, Saoudi which car. Their answer is Toyota Land Cruiser.
I have the 200 Sahara with split tailgate. I use the lower split all the time, to sit on, as a work bench, as a table etc. etc. etc. The one piece tailgate on the 300 would absolutely stop me from buying the vehicle. So would the V6. What was Toyota thinking!!!
Current version is already sold out in Europe. At least this year you can't even order a new one. As dealer told me "maybe some will be available next year in April". All due to tight emission norms. In fact I would gladly see a hydrogen fuel powered version. Here in Europe we really will see the dusk of combustion engines soon
*Land Cruiser is the REAL ULTRA LUXURY car you can buy. It is the only one with QUALITY and Manufacturing TECHNOLOGY TO BACK IT UP - unlike the fake ones like Land Rover - basically cheap quality with only a name left hoping people don't see that and blow their cover*
Thanks to the mighty taxes imposed here. I really think gov should abolish those taxes designed to encourage local car production, since there is none now.
Just being consistent here by giving the video a thumbs down due to Toyota preventing sales to consumers but clearly giving media "demo vehicles" to promote. Cleary this is an "advotorial" for a vehicle that can't be sold, which is a bad look for Toyota and the content creator for bending to Toyota's will.
I think car manufacturers are using the COVID car price bubble as a sly way to increase prices. Across the board most of them have. The Dmax comes to mind as a recent price hike.
@@mikey380sx chip crunch, they have to pay more to get more chips for their ECU and others. there are 9-12 months waiting list for some hot selling Toyota models in some countries. Just because of the chip shortage.
the leather you state in the vx is synthetic not even real leather.the prices are a lot more then what you are stating in here from 4 different toyota dealers.150k for the sahara zx.
Lol . You still are the king . 🤴people will buy you for being rugged enough to tackle any condition..and you are definitely more versatile than any crossover or a car ...so no need to care about looks
A lot of $ when if you tow a large van around the bush you need to add GVM upgrade, bull bar, tow bar quality larger tyres & winch etc. what were Toyota thinking - doing away with the split drop down tail gate. The new tail gate will be an absolute pain for people towing vans - designed with Aussie input - the input Aussie should have his / her bum kicked for not maintaining the old tail gate as an option or standard fit.
I think there is so much to love about the new 300. However, there are some things I’m not so impressed by: 1) The VX doesn’t have leather seats - I believe they are vinyl. 2) No wireless Apply CarPlay. (Cable only. Is it ok for your phone to be charging on the charge pad, and plugged into a charger at the same time?) 3) CD/DVD Player? Why? Maybe this space could have been used for two larger wireless charging pads instead. 4) I’d heard that the off-road focused GR variant, can’t carry a bullbar with a WINCH - strange if true. 5) Significant jump in price. 6) I think the Sahara should have had rear seat iPad mounts, with an in car 5G wifi internet opinion, instead of those screens. 7) The wait is killing me. LOL Thank-you for your review.
People getting upset about a Toyota is akin to raging about the performance of your microwave. Work somewhere interesting in Australia and you will be given several.
So, considering Europe are working towards phasing out diesels, and in the U.S. virtually all the Toyota's being sold are petrol, did you think, well did any of you reviewers think to ask Toyota why AGAIN we are being treated like the last child in a large poor family. living on 'hand me downs'. why isn't the petrol variants being offered here? come to think of it, look at the 'truck' market in the U.S., the 1500 series, GM, Ford Ram, Tundra are all offered as petrol. just thought I'd throw that out there. as for towing? the 300 with braked towing. I'd be interested in seeing you load a van and 300 as if it was a family of four heading off on the 'big lap' that includes the weight of water in the van, full load of fuel and the weight of kids and spouse and all those accessories bolted to the vehicle. then drag the thing over the scales just to see how much the 'average' family has overloaded it and in reality what the cargo weights really are. mainly because I've been asking van reviewers to just that for years but they all seem to chicken out. might have something to do with losing the free meal tickets.
I wud rather have a Unibody defender. Cuz they r definitely doing wayy less profit than toyota. It's just better for offroading all around, LC is kind-of a MPV in comparison. For example LC has so much unused headroom while in defender u ride n sit higher.
Mate wrong chat, the people checking this video have an lc and upgrading...and will never change to anything else...save your energy for the Dacia folks that want something better.
*This is the only REAL ULTRA Luxury car THAT WITH QUALITY TO BACK IT UP - unlike the fake ones like Land Rover - basically cheap quality with only a name left hoping people don't see that and blow their cover*
Such a biased report. I Also test drove the LC300 last week. You did not comment on the terrible arrangement of the back seats of the LC300. They roll forward and sit there like a huge bolder and creat an uneven floor. Compare this to the Mercedes GLS, where the seats disappear in to the floor of the car MF creat a flat smooth & spacious cabin that you can comfortably enjoying laying down. You can not do that in the LC300.
Definitely not Risking purchasing another Toyota product again after owning 2 new Toyota’s in 2001 Camry & 2010 Prado ongoing reliability issues only positive was Toyota servicing attempts at keeping vehicles together
Its just not a good looking vehicle from the outside. I suppose thats not the point of it and im sure its capable and comfortable. But thats a fuck ugly car for a hundred grand plus.
So sad. Another paid Toyota advertorial. No mention of the 10k price increase, reduced fuel capacity, cramped middle row or the pitiful lack of ground clearance. The mighty Landcruiser of old has become a Toorak tractor. You won't be seeing these in the bush.
*but it is the only REAL ULTRA LUXURY car you can buy. It is the only one with QUALITY and Manufacturing TECHNOLOGY TO BACK IT UP - unlike the fake ones like Land Rover - basically cheap quality with only a name left hoping people don't see that and blow their cover*
🤣 138k for a soccer mum car 🤣 Wish people would do real reviews instead of pathetic advertorials for their advertising revenue streams, sounding like bullshit O'Clock again 🙄
Try $99,500 for the GX on the road. That’s one helava price for a poverty pack. Toyota must have a huge amount of money to spend on advertising as not one mainstream media outlet has even one criticism of the new model. Not one. The mighty dollar has killed independent journalism and even if a jurno slips up and does mention something he may not like there is a long list of people feeding on the tit of advertising dollars to make sure it’s edited out. Name one mainstream media organisation or one jurno that has mentioned one negative issue on the new 300.
gx on road @$99500 = oct 16 $ 73,878.82 us dollars here some buy defenders , gmc delani, cad esclade wagons . figure. rims and tires are first thing to change before the camping kit
