That’s the engine break. If you would’ve stayed on the throttle a little bit, it allows the machine to go down the hill at a slower pace if you’re using the throttle, you have way more control.
This is not a manufacturer problem it’s improper use. Same thing if you roll down a hill on a standard transmission atv and going 20 and put it in gear it will drag the rear tires. Same principle.
@@anonymousanonymous8454 unfortunately a CVT transmission behaves like a manual transmission when it engages. Obviously one is a clutch and the other is a belt drive. All ATVs with a CVT will do this. My Polaris does the same thing. That’s why you need to throttle up to match the your output speed of the engine to the gear box. If you don’t, you will get engine braking.
Right, it is. But initially I wasn’t ready and was coasting down the hill one handed just chillin and when it engaged it slung me forward and almost down the embankment. Also, I’ve never needed this “feature” in the past, I just thinks it’s a liability feature for people who are new to riding. I’ve learned to live with it
I’ve gotten use to mine, I like it overall. Base entirely on specs, I don’t believe there is anything better. I also agree about the suspension, I’ve not even changed oil once and it squeaks. Also got a recall notice on the mail. In the end, I’m happy with it
Yeh, it’s not that bad anymore, mainly because I just don’t coast anymore lol. Problem now is the bushings in the suspension are squeaking badly. 🤦🏼♂️
@@anonymousanonymous8454 yeah mine does the same, the base model uses Gabriel shocks the same as GM cars, they all do it. 😂 when you buy the ATV from Arctic Cat they come with FOX shocks. I fix mine by dumping WD40 on the bushings LOL
No way around it you are already moving by, giving it throttle you are engaging the clutch so your ground speed and engine speed are not matched, if you gave it more throttle ground speed and engine speed would be closer and would have ovoided the tire skid
Yeh, I’ve gotten use to it also. Kawasaki makes a “delete” for some of their atv’s according to the mechanics at bass pro. Hopefully tracker will make one for this one at some point
I’m not a mechanic by no means but I have a tracker 800 utv. The loud engagement noise and the slowing of the atv when putting on the gas while coasting is the cvt transmission. My 800sxLe does the exact same thing.
@@clintonmcclure3079 yeh, I’ve gotten use to it but I’ve read that Kawasaki had a similar issue and the tech said they have a way to deactivate it or something
