@@joshuaknight311 The ECU is the bikes computer that runs everything, you get them in cars too. Flashing the ECU can do things like remove the speed limiter and tune the bike to perform better.
Well, I'm not saying a stock R1M is faster than a stock s1000rr, but they didn't start at the same kph. Also, the R1M ran out of rpm. I can confirm 194 mph (311 kph) is where mine stops and just doesn't have the gearing to go faster. I don't know if it has the juice to go down a tooth or 2 in the rear to go any faster.
Did you measure the speed with gps? I heard that the R1 doesn’t reach 300+ in reality. I can’t decide between those two bikes and going 300+ is a really important factor for me. Also, is your bike stock?
@hxkob yes, I've hit 194 on gps dozens of times, very easily, actually. I'm certain drooping a tooth or 2 in the rear will get me over 200 with no sweat. Stock, I have no idea. Mine is dyno tuned with a full titanium Graves exhaust and BMC filter
Look at the RPM difference on the R1 between 5th and 6th gear, it had a good 800RPM to go, didn't run out of gearing, just out of power, also they did start at the same speed, you can advance frame by frame, and you can see that the R1 "starts" at 101 km/h while the 1000RR starts at 100km/h

did anybody notice that it is 2 different videos of a stock red BMW S1000RR up to 310Km/h then after that it is a tuned and most deffinately smaller rear sprocket BMW S1000RR M package... Check even the rpm drop from almost 14k back to 13k, but still doing 310KM/h in 6th gear.
I have sympathy for the r1 but i got rather 2 of the RR because the dynos are speaking for them selves It just need Look at the dyno sheets to clearly see the r1 doesnt have 200hp

R1M is limited by the factory to 300km. Otherwise 340 are an easy task. Disable the speed limit with a software and free the beast! Yamaha is a winning bike at a top level races worldwide. BMW failed to win for years now. Come on, they are only good on marketing bullshit. No more

In the real world WSBK ridden by real champions, BMW is always last and R1M first. In 2021, Yamaha R1M won every championship on the planet earth. Last year the same except WSBK. This doesn't come by chance! in the contrary, BMW lost everywhere. This doesn't happens by chance either. Think!!
