Nice video.. just got my R7 couple days ago. I have never ridden a motorcycle before, I found it surprisingly easy to ride. I feel as a new rider i made a good choice to start on this bike, to learn and grow…
I'm thinking about getting into motorcycles (sport bike)and from all I've heard this bike sounds perfect for me, it's not super over powered like an unnecessary liter bike ,its just sporty and fun and with plenty of power for me to grow into for years to come
I was genuinely shocked when I saw you only have 500 subs, video quality like this is something you only see with channels that have 500k-1 million+ subscribers. If you learn how to manipulate the algorithm you’ll go far man, really far.
Ordered one for track days, and practicing, honing my skills. My other track bike is a Ducati V4S, but this baby looks like the perfect lil twin for trashing on the track.
Nice one good job of explaining 👍 I enjoyed my MT-07 alot it had all the power needed for the daily ride. Since I started on an R125 as my first bike before the MT-07. I want to get back on a Super Sport so I think the R7 will be a perfect second bike so i will be reserving mine soon as the UK release is expected in October.
Man hit a 1000 subs hahaha. When I watched the last time you where atlike 300. Congrats man. Really enjoyed the videos so far! I'd be down for a discord
I really would like to know how you feel about the R7 compared to the RS 660. I know Yamaha said it's not meant to be a competitor but I really feel they are going for the same group of people.
Would you guys be interested in joining a discord if I made one for the channel? Respond to this comment and let me know! UPDATE: Im working on setting it up now, ill have the link in the description as soon as im done!
I’ve got a 2017 Indian Dark Horse and am looking at getting something for the back roads and occasional track day. This has been on my radar for awhile now and is the most reasonably priced for what I want. I had other contenders like the ZX-6R and Z900SE from Kawasaki but they cost more and have a higher RPM requirement to get the full utility out of them. Haven’t had a chance to get on an R7 yet, hopefully I can change that soon. Of course any sport bike is going to be way faster than my heavy 111 cubic inch cruiser.
Best video and explanation by far! Nice job😉. I got an MT-03 for city riding. But now I am considering riding to work. I have to take the expressway. Not that the MT-03 can’t do it. But was thinking about getting the R7?? Test drove the MT-07 today. And it felt great, they had no R7 to test drive. So I am worried about a 30min to an hour commute. Will my back and neck be burning 😆??.
Agreed, also trying to convince Matt to do a comparison video with my fz07 2016 so all the people thinking about switching including my self could see the speed differences if any between the too bc I’m also I’m Georgia 30min from aTl
Just joined 🙌🏽🙏🏽🔥 Trading my 2021 Ryker Rally and getting this bike 🏍 but I'm getting the blue one and have extra cash to do a couple of small things to it awesome video 📹
i actually originally was going to buy an R1 but the insurance was just going to be way too much, then when the R7 got revealed it just seemed like the perfect bike for me.
@@MattMotoyt Cool cool. I’m looking for a second bike that’s more sporty and nimble. Currently have a Harley Road King Special. It’s great for long trips and being comfy when cruising but I want something lighter that can handle better in the twisties 😁
@@MattMotoyt Do-able, is getting 1000 subs and monetizing your channel (but ya better keep the R7 for the $yrup). I'm sure you'd suffer regret trading up in cc(s) if ya had to sell the R7. It's the sweet spot.
@@MattMotoyt ohh bet, appreciate it dude, ive been looking up stuff online all day cause im hoping to get one like within this week and i was curious about it, also hoping it can do some highway wheelies as well, so fingers crossed cause i know the mt07 can in 3rd gear rolling at 50ish mph
it should do them no problem, Yoshimura just made an exhaust for it and they said with the new ecu Yamaha put in it the R7 actually makes more power than the MT07, my guess is Yamaha is just waiting to release power numbers until we get closer to the official release date
How much would payments on this be with average credit? I want this bike so bad but don't have enough cash rn.. This will be my first bike and I just hope I can get a brand new one idk how many of these they are producing.
Looking into buying a R7 my local dealer said it should be around $11,500 with taxes and fees and what ever my interest rate will be… is that a fair deal or should I hold off a few more weeks?
It’s not about not disliking the R7 because it’s underpowered, it’s about how they got rid of the 600 inline 4. Now Yamaha has no bike that can compete in Moto2... This is just a road bike now. I Hate Crossplanes too, they can’t run E85.
understandable, my issue is people hate the R7 because yamaha got rid of the R6. The R7 is not a replacement to the R6, it was never meant to be. The R6 got discontinued because 85% of r6 sales were in the used market, people weren't buying them. now people are whining because they're gone and hating on an actual really good bike because they think a bigger number means its a replacement bike.
@@MattMotoyt that’s exactly why we are angry, they got rid of it and didn’t replace it. If they aren’t trying to replace the R6 then they shouldn’t put the exact same fairings on the R7. Secondly, I’ve ridden the MT07 and the engine is pretty trash. Definitely needs the ECU flashed. I’d honestly want the all new kawasaki ZX25r in-line 4 cyl (not available in North America) over the R7, or an Aprillia RS660 when the fix the motors issues. I’ve driven a RS660, the R7 can’t touch it. I’ve owned a 05 and 06 R6, I would choose either of those 15 year old bikes over this R7.
@@KGRR-us9ie again, we have ourselves to blame for that. If we wanted the R6 to stay then we all shouldve bought more brand new R6's, its our fault not Yamahas. However, hating the R7 and saying its a trash bike (when its definitely not) just because the R6 left is just plain stupid, go hate on every single other motorcycle Yamaha has ever made then, because thats the logic most of the haters are using.
@@MattMotoyt well ya crossplanes suck. Can’t even run E85. They took an R6 body, changed basically nothing about the design and put a MT07 engine in it. Stop deflecting when they clearly did the R6 dirty and that they should have redesigned the entire look of the bike to avoid this uproar. It’s pure laziness from Yamaha and I hope it leads to them leaving motorcycle manufacturing entirely. They are being destroyed on all fronts by Kawi, Honda , Suzuki ,bmw, aprillia. They just don’t make the Yamaha’s with the care they used to have.
@@Pub4si Yamaha does this all the time, got the tenere700 after USA, 2.5 years after eu. Never got the tracer 700. And there is no release date for the R7. I’d love to see an mt07 sp, but if Europe gets it announced today, we might be waiting more than a year like we are for the 2021 mt07
Hey man you said it’s not good for a beginner rider what if you have around two months riding and you feel comfortable. Basically do you recommend it for someone that has some experience
I said its not a good bike for beginners if you're not careful, if you have 0 experience and get this bike and take it easy then it will be a great first bike, but in your case since you have experience this would be perfect
Sorry, but it doesn't. Totally different bike, and the R6 is far from, and will never be a collector bike. Since just 2016, there's been over 20,000 R6's sold.
no cruise control unfortunately, that button is for scrolling through the different things you can see on the dash, odometer, trip odometers, temperature, etc.
i would say due to the aerodynamics and the ecu being tuned differently it may be slightly faster but not by much. Top speed wise though Yamaha claims 10-15 mph over the mt/fz07
@@thatguyfrankie2721 ...and trading hooligan-comfort. Trust me, there will be used R7s after a year or two when lust-purchases are realized. A lot of riders just think they can live with the supersport-ergos but wait until it's paid off before buying your bike.
Will you show the top speed of this bike or remain to sing an anthem to Yamaha?! At the time been it looks like Yamaha has killed a great bike which was R6 and provides a bike to beginners instead!
I may eventually, speeding tickets kind of suck and so does jail. Yamaha was getting rid of the R6 regardless of if the R7 came out or not and we have ourselves to blame. 85% of R6 sales being in the used market is not Yamahas fault
@@MattMotoyt My master bike is BMW R1200 GS (2018). I bought it brand new. It can reach 140 mph. But goose (GS) is not a bike for racing. I wanted to buy small crazy fast bike to reach 185 mph on it. R6 was a best choice in term of first investment (15 kUSD in Russia), cost of maintenance and annual taxes fee. Suzuki is not existing on Russian market at all.
@@eternitywas If we talk about the money then my calculation is next. R6 had 12 kUSD price with performance almost like R1 that worth 17,4 kUSD now. R7 is 25% cheaper but it’s performance in drag race will be the same as MT-07 that worth 7,7 kUSD. Finally you don’t make an economy of 3 kUSD. In best case you loose an opportunity make an economy of 5,4 kUSD ( difference between R6 and R1). In worst case you overpay 1,3 kUSD for the same candy in shining wrapping, which is R7 compare to MT-07. I’m strongly confident that sport bike must to have 4-in-line engine and be able to reach 12000 rpm at least. Two cylinders is good engine for cruisers or adventure bikes. I’m really regret about the 600 cc sport bikes which have disappeared following the new ecological norms. Next year will be possible to buy YFZ R6 GYTR by price is equal to R1. In Europe such R6 worth 15, 7 kEuros+VAT 20%. Finally SYSTEM has tricked customers again!
Definitely agree! Im more so thinking the used market though, I would never recommend buying a brand new bike if you have no riding experience, I did, but i think i just got lucky i never dropped it or anything.
Yamaha had me hook, line and sinker… light, nimble twin with usable power on the street and amazing suspension… then put the rider in a track position. lol so close.
No, my grandfather passed away a couple weeks ago and ive been pretty sick these past few days. Haven't even been on either of my bikes since i posted my last video, im going to try to record this week
